Is there hope for Lymph Node involvment?

I believe there is hope for us with lymph node involvement. My tumor was found by myself 1 week before this past Christmas, and was 2 cm with 5 out of 24 nodes positive. There is NO cancer in my family either; I thought I pulled a muscle, it was fibroid/cyst,etc, and the doctors said they knew how to treat it, and I finished chemo 5/20--hardly sick-just fatigue or queasy. Get rad consult 6/8, then VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come back and starts rads roughly 3 weeks from that last chemo. LET'S KICK THIS BIG C IN THE BUTT GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!

2 nodes positive almost 6 1/2 years ans still behaving myself. In my opinion the lymph nodes did there job... caught the cancer................

you have to think positive. There are a lot of success stories out there with positive nodes. Hopefully they will continue to chime in. I have a friend who had 26 positive nodes and she is a 10+ yr survivor. It can be done!!
Make plans and live your life. I know some days it is easier to say than to do but there is still so much for you to see and do!!
Take care

Thanks for this post. I had 2/12 positive nodes. This really scared me more than anything. Sometime I still get down about it. Its good to hear all these positive stories. Thanks ladies!

I will be a 4 year survivor in October of a 4cm tumour, grade III and 3 out of 23 positive lymph nodes. Diagnosed at age 41, turned 45 in May.
Yes there is hope out there, for anyone newly diagnosed NEVER give up the HOPE!

My positive lymph node diagonsis scared me more than the initial news that I have cancer. Thank you all for the encouraging stories. I've just started down the road of treatment, and it's comforting to know that I'm not kidding myself by saying that I am going to beat this.

lumineaux~ I too, am just starting this path. Just had rt modified radical mast on Jun 8. 3 of 11 positive nodes, one was an internal mammary node...which frightens me more than anything. Will consult with Onc today. I know it will be a long road, but it is VERY comforting to know others have beat this....NEVER lose hope.
