OHIP drug coverage

I've been trying to find out what drugs are covered by OHIP.  Are gemzar and naveline covered?  I'm a bit worried if I don't have private insurance and these drugs aren't available.  I've visited cancer.ca and I couldn't find any information on them.

    As a general rule, if get it in a hospital, OHIP covers it.  If it is a pill or an injection you get at home, then it isn't covered.  I don't know those drugs so I can't say.  The onc. that will be treating you in Canada would know.  And if it is an expensive drug there is always the Trillium fund.

    If you are getting anything through CCAC.... ask for an Ontario Drug Card.... solves a lot of drug payment issues

    Thanks -- I'll look for info on CCAC.  I have a lot of research to do before I get back in Ontario!
