Hi Jess, I'm here ... but I have no idea where Trudi is. I've called and left msgs, and sent a PM, but no response. I think she was having her exchange in mid- to late-june, and I'm wondering how she's doing! I have a pre-op appt tomorrow - only two weeks before my exchange surgery! Can't wait ... hope you are doing well!! sue
-
Hey sue. Good luck on the pre-op and then exchange. i expect to have my in November if al lthe rad effects come off okay......i am doing well. glad the chemo is over. I only have 9 txs done with rads. I have hair now!!!!

nipples on the 21 st ...time is funny it goes fast and slow all at the same time
Jess how are you doing ..when are you having the exchange? You will think it is much better ..softer ..more real..
-
I will have the PS look to see if swelling and such has gone down from the radiation and then we will set an exchange date. I am guessing during my Christmas break. I can't wait. Nice to hear from you Trudy.
-
Jess hope everything goes as planned ...christmas break not much of a break for you but after the exchange all is more comfortable ...it will be nice after the surgery...
Nips are done ..looking good just hard to get used to...
sue when do you get yours? soon ?
-
Hi Trudy. Yes, I hope the same. My skin looks pretty good. I am down to 10 days and counting till I see the PS about the state of my skin. It feels fine, though I will be VERY glad to get the expander out.
I think Sue has had her surgery. ........
Thank you for keeping in touch.

HI ladies, I'm going in for my nipples on Tues the 20th - eek! next week! I'm excited and so ready to get this final stage over with. Trudi - I can't believe I ran into you at the benefit - that was crazy but so nice to see you!!! You look awesome!! And it was fun meeting your dad. Let's try to keep in touch and maybe we can get together once I've recuperated a bit from next week. Jess, you will be thrilled to get your exchange done - it's AWESOME!! I love sleeping on my side again - heck, I love sleeping in my bed again!
take care ladies and keep in touch!! sue
-
Hi mid michiganders. I am still waiting for the exchange-have to wait for the swelling from radiation to go down a bit more.
Hope all is well.
-
HI there,
Well, I spoke too soon
I'm back on the couch followign my nipple surgery last week ... I'm healing pretty well, but there's now I can't sleep on my sides again. ARGH!!! I had my big bandages removed yesterday, and I must say, dang, the nips are looking pretty great already ... I was really hesitant to do this last surgery, but now I'm so glad I did. One more week and then I get the sutures out - can't wait!!! Let us know when you're scheduled for your exchange, Jess - I'm hoping it happens soon and you can get that hurdle behind you!!! Sue
-
Hi Sue! Congratulations on your nipple surgery. How long of a surgery was it? Too bad you can't sleep on your sides. Hope you can real soon. I still have to fuss with it, but have discovered my very old down pillow- dh grandma, stuffed it with goose feathers-works the best when I really want to sleep on my side. I am definately going to have to celebrate when my surgery comes around!
-
Hi Jess -- the surgery took about two hours in total ... yep, I am burying myself with 3 pillows each night!
can't wait to hear the news when you've had your exchange! sue
-
Omigosh, don't you know it!!!!
-
sorry I have not been on here in some time.. life just grabs you and sometimes won't let you get to do things. so I have had nipple reconstruction again. I think this one will be the last. so at the end of the month I am going to get tats. yeah hoot hoot. I just had my MRI results and am offically 1 yr of being breast cancer free. this year has been the a crazy year but I made it through and am ready to take on the world again. strong and proud.
I have thought of you all many times and have thought I need to get on the site. hope you are going well. sue- I have wanted to call u. I have lost you last name and #. please find me on facebook. trudy grimason.

Good Morning,
Just wondering if there are any Yoopers on this sight??
-
Hi Ladies,
Wow I can't believe you logged on yesterday, Trudi, and I logged on today!!!
I had my tattoos performed today and I'm feeling sore and tender. I'm so glad it's over though - that should be my last step in this journey as well!! We should go out and celebrate - want to meet Friday night in downtown Midland for a toast? Let me know!!! It'd be great to get together ... I'll go look you up on facebook and send you a msg there as well ... Take care to everybody!!
Sue -
Too weird- Here we are logging on and checking into this sight at almost the same time. Wow. I feel well. I am almost two months out from my exchange and it feels so much better!
I will get the nipple done in July and then tatts later.
Hope you have a nice gathering this Friday??!!
-
I live in Big Rapids, Michigan
-
HI Jess,
It's great to hear from you too - what a cool thing that we all posted around the same date! So how are you doing after your exchange? Isn't it a relief to get rid of the expander??? I hope you're happy with your results ... I didn't get to meet up with Trudi on Friday - but we're going to try to pull it off this spring ... You are more than welcome to join us !!! when we get a date picked out, I'll email you ok? Take care and keep in touch!
by the way, I am going to be coordinating another concert with Brian VanderArk as a benefit for Susan G. Komen ... Last year we donated over $2000 and had 150 attendees .. this year it will be held on wed June 30th here in Midland. I'll post more details as the date gets closer. I would love to ask Trudi and her dad if they could come and auction off the painting that will be completed during the concert ... we did that last year, and it turned out beautifully (that's the picture I use for my user id). Anyway - more details to come! sue -
Thanks for getting back with me Sue. I would love to be involved in the event, let me know.
Hey Mom2acat- let's try and gather ! I live inbetween Mount Pleasant and Big Rapids. Are you in town???
