This is a poem I wrote on one of my sickest days.I do not know how to line it up correctly though. My sister comes on angel's wings, She comforts me and softly sings,Lullaby and Goodnight,And while she does, things seem all right. She left this earth long years ago,But now she's back and this I know,My pain,my fear all go away,I feel her hand...,with me she stays.

These poems are really so moving. I would love to put them into a booklet form w/illustrations by art students...as a gift to you all. Would anyone mind?

pandazankar - may i try.. simply lining them up by rhyme?

My sister comes on angel's wings
She comforts me and softly sings
    Lullaby and Goodnight
And while she does, things seem all right.

She left this earth long years ago,
But now she's back and this I know,
My pain,my fear all go away,
I feel her hand...,with me she stays

    A Mouth

    People over use it,

    Doctors look in it.

    Lovers pucker it,

Some put their foot in it!

    Dentist open it,

    Dieters close it,

    Mine, I'll keep it shut.

Things have been pretty crazy around my house lately... I go for 4th AC tomorrow and my dh is in the hospital after having two TIA's...  I so enjoy coming on here and reading the soothing thoughts... so thanks ladies Smile

This is the words to a song by Amy Grant that I've been playing alot lately... thought it might touch someone else.

    Be still my soul

The Lord is on thy side

Bear patiently, the cross of grief or pain

Leave to thy God, to order and provide

In every change, He faithfully will remains

    Be still my soul

    Thy best thy Heavenly Friend

    Through thorny ways

    Leads to a joyful end

Be still my soul, they God doth undertake

To guide the future as he has the past

Thy hope thy confidence let nothing shake

All now mysterious will be bright at last

Delight yourselves in the Lord, and yes find your joy in Him. Be known for your gentleness and never forget the nearness of our God.

And, don't worry...whatever is to come...just tell God every detail, and the peace of God that no one understands, will come to you.

No, don't worry...just tell HIM every detail and HIS peace will come to you.

One more... that  came out of me this a.m....

Just when you think you can breathe...

    Life throws another twist.

    But I don't seethe,

Those feelings and thoughts I do my best to resist.

I know there's so many out there,

That are hurting just the same.

    So I just place everything

    In my Precious Jesus' name.

Be still my Soul.. oh my gosh Arnie, that is a gorgeous hymn.. I wish i could hear Amy Grant sing it..  we Catholics sing it at funerals as well as thruout the year... the words are by Katharina von Schlegel.. mid 18th century.. a fine Lutheran hymn..

For those of you not familiar with this stirring work.. here is a you tube link with the Mormon tabernacle choir.  These words were set to the a portion  of the symphony Finlandia by Sibelius...   Finlandia was reworked to become a stand alone piece  (called Finlandia).  I think it is my favorite melody ever.  .. the words are so so so direct and holy.

    Arnie,

I too am an Amy Grant fan. My favorite song of hers is "Heirlooms". She wrote it for her family. Hugs, Mazy

(i thought i better include the little poem that precluded this thread.. it's silly,.. and in response to a bit of a hullabaloo in a thread here.

I love cancer i really do

my figure is slimmer cause i hate to chew

my hair is all gone i don't have to brush

my mouth is all sore and coated with thrush.

i save on shampoo and leg shaving razors

i think that again i'll start wearing blazers

they'll hide the fact that my bust line is skewed.

i'll stick out my chest and try to delude

the masses who think i really got screwed.

they don't know how wonderful it can be

to know that breastSmileSmile cancer is me.

    I Was Walking

I was walking life's path with a load of cares,

I didn't remember the He was right there.

Then I felt Jesus and this is so true,

He lifted my burdens and carried them too.

So when your burden get too much to bear,

Always remember Jesus is right there.

I have always found it easy to deal with an enemy rather than face the hurt given to us by our own dear loved ones...

                        The Fatal Blow...

    I, who faced all alone,

Each of my enemy's attacking stone

    I, who always stood strong,

To prove my every opponent wrong

    I, who never fell down,

But had seeds of my victory sown

    I, whom even a rock,

Failed to give a mild shock

    I who made everything rebound

And yet stood safe and sound

    I, who was very proud,

    Of not receiving even bruises

By a pebble thrown by the one I loved

    Was broken into pieces.

                Wife is Life

Wife is a knife who cuts the strife

And makes amiable your burdened life

She is your mate when the passions arise

An attorney when you need advice

A mother when you need care

As a companion your sorrows she shares

A toiling slave when you need service

A friend to help in time of crisis

A cook serving you dishes so nice

‘MAN' before you say wife is knife who cuts life

    Think twice

(ppssstttt.. Let the secret of what wives can be in real life stay buried)....

I hope that a husband of a special wife can provide some poetry of my thoughts on BC?

My love I offer my help, what can I do

nothing of your pain that will ensue.

My strength is here, take my hand,

all that you are going through, how can I understand?

All I can do is be her by your side,

being your confidant, tell me your fears inside.

All I want to do is take it all away, Do I ask too much?

Is this God's will? It must be so,

Since God as shown me how true love is supposed to be!

Martin, it is really nice to see the other side. I can not imagine all that my dh has been thinking and feeling (he won't say, to protect me). Know that she appreciates all that you do, just being the strength and rock of her world right now.

Identical, no, I got the looks and the brains.  My wife deserves much more, I am not perfect by any means, however I do know that I will try with all my might to be there, help her and love her.  I cannot fathom the emotions she is going through; she is reading this probably and rolling her eyes :).
