Hi everyone, I am back from my speaking enagement. WHAT A WEEKEND!!! There were about 300 - 500 people. I was able to share what the Lord has done for me through cancer. I think it is on cd and I will be able to get a copy. The Lord really gave me so much strength and I was so glad to be a blessing to others!! I met so many people and now all these people are going to pray for me. Many shed tears in the blessing of the Lord as I was able to share His Word!! It was so incredible!!!
Prayer is needed for me for upcoming tests,,,mamo on Mon and a PET scan Wed. Thank you ahead and I love you all!! Hugs, Corinne
-
Corrine, my prayers are with you now.
Deen
-
Corinne, I will pray for you as well. That's wonderful that you were able to reach out to so many people this weekend.
I am already thinking about my upcoming mammo and also a CT scan on my left lung. Pray that the spot they saw in early May is not there anymore!
Lisa, I am praying for you. When do you go for the Gamma knife?
This week is Tom's last of commuting two hours each way to work. On Monday, June 8 (my birthday) he starts a new job much closer to home. God has been so good to us.

Hope everyone has a great week,

Congrats to you on your mammo Corrine. I am still trying to make the appt for mine. Somehow I just can't seem to pick up the phone to get my appt scheduled. I just have to get over this whatever it is.
-
Corrine~ Soooooo Happy 4 u!
Roya~ Nice to hear from you. Hope you are doing great.

wow what a week!! Went to get my mamo on Monday then went horseback riding with my girls and we had so much fun. On Tues I saw my naturopathic Dr and we are going to try to put weight on me. I am eating well and feeling well. Tues afternoon I went to go and visit my horse and had one horse cart driving lesson. I did get to drive for just a little while.
On Wed I went a little over an hour away to get my PET scan. Still waiting for the results. Ugh!!!! Anyhow. I stopped at Nordstrom's and was FINALLY fitted for a correct sized bra and prosthesis. Can you believe that my insurance will only let me get one there??? Anyhow I did not get back until nearly six and then made supper and went to church.
I can't be home today either!!!! I am going with a friend to the dr's. She thinks she has blood clots. I am going to get my horse tonight. Yipppeeee!!!! He is so beautiful. His winter coat is gone and he is completely black except for his 2 white socks/
Hoping tomorrw I can be home all day. I have not really been here to clean in way over a week . I WANT TO BE HOME!!! Anyhow,Sat is the relay for life. So happy to be one of the survivors.
-
Well ladies - another week has gone by. Between running Gunner to baseball and Ali to basketball and volleyball I never know where the time has gone!!! OH and I have a full time job!!!! Nahh just kidding I wouldn't have it any other way but I would like a break!!! LOL I hope everyone is doing good. Glad to see so many Mammo's coming back CLEAR!!! That is something to celebrate!!!!!! Everyone have a great weekend!!!! Loves to all...................

PET SCAN- inflamatory lesions on my left lung probably due to radiation. She said she did not believe that it was cancer. However, to be on the safe side we are repeating the test in 3 months. "What time I am afraid I will trust in thee." I am doing well and am exercising faithfully. Where is everyone???
-
Corinne, I will be praying for you with your lung lesions. Do they expect them to heal? Three months is a long time to wait. Keep on trusting God!
In two weeks I will have a chest CT scan to see if the spot that was there in May is still there. Please pray with me that it is gone. I am also trusting God in this. I know that he will be with me whatever the results..
Dizziness is still a problem. I gave in and called the neurologist for an appointment. I looked up his website, and I surely do not want to be diagnosed with any of his specialties. Yet I still need a treatment for the dizziness.
This is Tom's last day at his old job, the one that is two hours away. Hoping my head will clear so I can make tonight's homecoming special.

Hi, all ~ Just stopping by to say congrats to Corinne on that clear mammo, as well as on last weekend's presentation! And I will be certainly praying that spot on your lung goes away or turns out to be nothing, as I'm sure it will. And Bette, I hope the dizziness goes away before you even see the neurosurgeon. Have you had any blood work recently? I'm wondering if it could be something as simple as your electrolytes being out of balance or some other nutritional deficiency? Even not drinking enough water (mild dehydration) can cause that. Also, have you had your eyes checked? Chemo can cause changes in them, and if you wear eyeglasses or contacts, your prescription may no longer be right for you. Just some thoughts...
Well, Gail and I had a wonderful visit earlier this week with katoMato (Kaye). There's something so instantly bonding about our bc-sisterhood relationships, and something quite cathartic about actually sitting down and sharing our journeys. And Kaye and I discovered that we have children who went to school together for many years. Her daughter and my son were in the same class at a very small private school for many years! We'd never met before -- and we meet through BCO! How strange is that?!?!
Lisa, how are you doing? And Lashon, you're also in my thoughts & prayers...
Have a great weekend everyone ~ Deanna

Hi everyone,
Corinne, my prayers are with you that you are cancer free. You have been such an inspriration to all of us.
Bette, my prayers are with you that your Drs will find the problem and fix it for you.
Congrats on the good mammos!
On Tues I had my hysterectomy and exchange, lift, and nip recon. I'm feeling a lot better than I thought I would. Just taking it easy.
Hope everyone has a great weekend,
Deen

Well Gamma knife is literally hell. The needles in the skull to numb the screws from going in
And then the darn vice on my head for hrs
But here I am. The first day I was throwing up on the ride home. Horride. BUT the next day I was refilling babies kiddie pool and using a level to do it LOL. I went for my boobie consult. I get to have them done on June.30th. Putting in expanders,,and then implants (praying this will work). The doctor is very nice. All of this will be at Woodforest Baptist Hospital in N.C its HUGE.
Anyways, I have had a lonnnng day. There was one more tumor in my head (making that 4 all together
But this new one was smaller than a pepper corn seed. And this MRI was 3 times more advanced than the last one I had. So it probably was there before. All areas got the gamma knife,,,and I go back in 6 weeks for update. Its sooo much. But I am doing good.
Love you all,,and your ALL in my prayers too. Thankyou for all of your support. I am a tired mommie, that is BATTLING this horride disease. And grateful for an experiance that will some day help ALOT of others .:)
-
Corrine & Bette~ I am praying for good resuts for you both.
deanna~ I am so glad for you that you are able to meet up with your bc sisters and talk face to face about this journey we are all going through. I really envy that. I wish there were someone in tucson that I could talk to face to face. YOur very lucky. Hope you are doing well.
Lisa~ I hope you feel better and like always my prayers are with you.
I finally started my Heceptin again and I never realized how tired it made my feel. Lots of fatigue.
-
Lisa, I'm glad you got through the tx, and I'm sorry for the SEs. I'm still praying for you to come through all of this. Baby swimming now:)?
Mamakaren, hope all is going great for you. You and your mother are in my prayers still.

Karen, I am sooooo glad you are back on Herceptin!! It does not tire me that much (perhaps because I work out every day) I am leaving for our cancer relay at 3:30. Real exvcited to meet people!! Bette hope you are doing better. Did he say anything about LOW blood pressure or low blood sugar because you are working out?
Deen: Praying for you girl and am hoping that God will give you the strength you need this week in surgery.
Lisa, at the seminar that I spoke at I found out there was a person who had brain cancer many years ago. He changed his diet and it made a great difference. However, I know that God is the healer of all but I do believe that what we put into our bodies makes a difference in the quality of out lives.
Misty, What's happening with you? Love you and am so excited about today!!
Hugs to you all,
Corinne

Hey Everyone,
This thread has been busy in the past day.
Gail & Deanna, sorry I couldn't be a part of the get-together this time. I guess a 6 hour flight hampers meeting up regularly-ha-ha. I bet it was nice to meet another sister!!
Deen-glad you are recovering well from your surgery. Take it easy and let others around you care for you!!
Lisa, you are a brave lady to undergo the gamma knife. Take care-I'll keep the fingers crossed on the reconstruction coming up to hope that goes smoothly.
MamaKaren-woo-hoo on the start-up of Herceptin again.Such a wonder drug!!!
and last but not least, Corinne, can't wait to hear how your relay. I am sure you physically knocked everyone's butt!! You are such an exerciser now!!
As for me, I am counting 10 days until school's end. Can you believe my last day is on the 1 year anniversary of finding out my "news" last year?! I will definitely have a celebration drink that night.
love to all!! Misty
-
Went to the relay yesterday. Wow, that was awesome. I met so many people. There was one lady that told me she had panceatic cancer. They told her she was going to die. She had surgery and that was it well......7 years later she is still doing well with no recurrence!!! Anyhow, I walked and walked not even a wisper of fatigue!!
Now, about my speaking engagement that I had. Found out this morning that they did not record it by accident. Soooo I was offered to have it recorded and reproduced at no charge. I was thinking it would not be the same which is true but I could take more time with it. However, I am also toying with a book idea. I already have the title. I just need to write the book!!! Not sure what to do but know that the Lord knows what he wants and perhaps will show me soon
-
Roya, I have been thinking about you, and I'm a little worried. You sound a little depressed. I hope you will go ahead with the mammo, and let us know how it is. It's so important for you.
Corinne, keep on truckin'!
Deen
-
Deen, thank you soooooo much for the encouragement! I finally did make my mammo appt for June 16th and this time I am not going to change it and I will be there at 8am sharp!. I will not be afraid!
-
Roya ~ When I think back to how sick you were from chemo, there is absolutely no way any of those confused, adolescent bc cells (as one of my radiation therapists described them) could have escaped what you went through! I know these 1 year anniversary mammos are very stressful -- I came very close to crying when they gave me the "all clear." But I'm sure you will be just fine. (((Hugs))) Deanna
-
Roya, I'm so glad you made the appt! I'm sorry, I've become the person who bullies all of her friends into mammos. The worst part is, I won't get mammos anymore, just MRIs or PET scans from now on, because of my implants. I guess we can't help but be afraid, after all we have been through.
Sending good vibes and better prayers your way,
Deen

Is that okay for me to put the pic of our relay? I am on the far right in the front!
-
Hi there everyone!
I've been soooo busy at work and my internet at home (blogging @ work now
was down.
Well my mammo came out clear and you'd think I'd be happy but I still don't trust it. The small rash under my boob still worries me but I'm afraid to contact Dr. I KNOW I need to and will. I feel like you Roya, but we gotta face our fears. I've been continuing my walks (on my lunch hr.) Cardioke and Zumba! This class is so much fun and what a work out. I'm hooked.
Deanna: It sounds like you Gail and Kaye had an awesome visit. Like Misty said, I wish I could have met with my girls. Maybe sometime soon?
Corrine: Congrats to you on everything! Love the Relay pic. Write that book! Thanks for that inspiring story about that lady you met. What an inspiration. We can NEVER give up hope.
Deen: It sounds like you're recovering great. How did the surgery go? You sound so strong.
Lisa: I can't imagine the pain you're experiencing but you are going to get through this. I have been praying for you. (Your little girl is sooo cute. Love the hat!)
Hey Misty I bet you can't wait until school gets out! My original DX date was 6/23 but I was too chicken to get the results that day. I can't believe it's almost here.
Well girls I go for to my consultation for PS on 6/30. I can't wait! I can't take the worry anymore. Hopefully I'll have my reconstruction/DMX sometime in July. (I'm waiting for my son to be off school).
Thinking of you girls often,
Jeannine
-
Corrine, love the picture!! You go, girl!! Love seeing you at the front of the pack.
Roya, glad you made the appt. We are on a roll on this thread-I am sure you will hear good news.
Jeannine, Great news on the mammo!! It looks like we kicking this *&%^%$ disease's butt!!
~Misty
