using testosterone with breast cancer

I an miserable without my hormones but realize that I cannlt take them  However, my oncologist said I could sparingly use estace topically  and testosterone,  It seems like there is a whole lot of controvesy over any hormones,  Any feedback would be appreceiated.

    Martha,

    I've been using that combo for years. Also progesterone.

    Oncologist Julie Taguchi prescribes these. Look at www.breastcancerchoices.org/hrt and you will see some of the studies and articles analyzing the research.

    I've found oncologists don't seem to know/read much about hormones.

    Why is that????

    Are you est+ and pro+ as that is the big deal it seems.  Although testosterone seems to be an unknown.  Thanks for the feedback.......

    I am stage IV, hormone positive, and used Androxy a male hormone for almost 9 months.  It worked and the worst side effects were the hair growth and weight gain.  But I felt happier!  It stopped working a few months ago.  Then I tried Estradiol - didn't work, then back to Armidex which is working.
