Biopsy

I posted a little while ago about the rash I have had for a year.  It has grown some but I think if it were IBC it would be growing at a quicker clip.  At any rate, I saw the derm and requested a biopsy but he performed a skin shave. It tested negative for fungus and malignancy, however, I know that a skin punch is the correct biopsy - should I push for this? If so, should I go back to the breast surgeon for it.  He told me it was not necessary but I want to be sure.  How accurate is the biopsy for IBC? Thanks a 1,000,000!

Hi there. In my experience I think it is always best to flollow your instincts. It is your body and if there is something "odd" on it, there has to be a reason. If one doc doesn't know then I think it's time to find another one. Doctors should not dismiss the medical concerns of their patients. It's not cool...

    God Bless.

    I agree with Shavoners.

I would go to a breast surgeon and have him/her do a punch biopsy.  Let them know that your concern about IBC.

    Good Luck
