Lobby $$$ - Why alternatives will never get tested

As I was researching something else today I ran into this website. This is why alternative small companies will never win with getting research dollars or approval.  This is just one years spending by these industries lobby groups.

Pharm/Health products!!!!  66,998,525

Hospitals/Nursing Homes  22,880,972

Total 166,297,073  I just want to know why?  And we wonder about the cost of health care in America.  And you can't tell me this $$$ don't have power to control millions of jobs and our lives with this kind of input.

    All the more reason why individuals have to take more control of their own health.

    As my GP said on my last visit to his office, "Wayne, we (doctors) are not in the business of healthcare, rather, we're in the health business."  He went on to say "Look, a $20.00 co-pay is not going to pay my mortgage!"

    I would say that his point makes your point.

    If we as patients, do not take an 'action step' to improve our body's immune response to cancer, we will continue to struggle through the devastations of convention cancer protocol.

    I sincerely feel that, because my wife, who is a nine-year BC survivor; who had a partial mascetomy and who had no standard chemo or, radiotherapy, made an important decision to purposely strengthen her immune system; she continues to enjoy many good days.  We want the same for others.

    A great book to read regarding all of this is The Wellness Revolution by Paul Zane Pilzer!  Highly recommend it!  We need wellness insurance, rather than the system we have now.  The overwhelming majority of new medical technology today is focused on treating the symptoms of diesease rather than the cures or prevention, and why 90 percent of the pharmaceuticals sold today are maintenance drugs consumers take daily for the rest of their lives!

    I also believe for that very same reason, we will never see a "cure" for cancer either.
