don't understand tumor markers

I just finished chemo and had my last oncologist appointment for 3 months. I found out at this appointment that they have been watching my tumor marker which has ben elevated. sometimes it goes down but then right back up. ct of chest and head was fine so oncologist said she would just continue to monitor it. she took the port out and said she would see me in 3 months. why aren't they more worried? i was wondering if anyone else has had this and will I EVER get a clean bill of health and peace of mind???

    For some ladies the turmor markers are not very accurate. For others they are very accurate. I would ask your oncologist what they think. If it was me I would go off the scans.

    My tumor markers were normal before chemo and it was up little during chemo and it came down to normal level after chemo.
