So I wait for weeks for an appointment with a Plastic Surgeon who is supposed to do amazing work. I meet with him and we discuss options and my ideas, his ideas and all my fears fly out the window and I'm ready to book a date with this great guy I'm so comfortable with......and then I find out he doesn't take my insurance.  When I called and asked they said they did but when I'm in the office they say...."well we take insurance and submit but we aren't participating and we won't accept the insurance company customery fees you have to pay the whole balance.

DARN!!

So I call my insurance company when I get home and the only participating plastic surgeon is some no name guy 45 minutes away!  Lovely!

If you have BC/BS and don't mind schlepping in to the city to MSK, Dr. Joe Disa is excellent.

Damnit! Doesn't that piss you off? You will find this is the case for all of them! Rat Bastards! I almost don't blame the girl that's been seen in the news laterly for ripping off a PS for a boob job.

Nancy, you might want to post your comment/question on the "Breast Reconstruction" forum.

This forum (where you are right now) is mainly populated by those of us who are wearing breast forms (prostheses) or are considering something other than reconstruction.

Hugs, though.  That's a tough situation.  I hope you can find a competent surgeon who accepts your insurance.

You should try a web site called patients advantage they help people find plastic surgeons.

They do not charge for their services just google it.  Thata how I found the ones I am checking out

    Best of Luck
