I finished my chemo at the end of January then I had 7 weeks of radiation and my hair is only a little over 1/4 inch long right now. Why is it taking so long to grow back? I look at the hair progression pics posted and they all show way longer hair than mine is at this point. Any ideas?

Everyones hair does grow back at different rates. But to be honest, I finished rads a year ago and my natural hair is maybe only 6 inches now. I decided to get extensions because I couldn't stand to live with my post chemo hair untill it had some length to it.

I've heard that there are products you can buy to help speed up the growth, but How much really can they help?

I hated the whole hair thing! Truth is, I think in the end... it takes longer to grow back than we thought it would Frown.

LINBAD, it took forever for my hair to achieve any kind of length!  My last tx was mid-July and, although I've had a couple of trims on the sides and the back, the longest hair on the top of my head is only about 1 1/2 inches (and I always HAD bangs -- well, they're growing, but SO slowly).

Patience is a virtue, so I'd say we must be pretty virtuous!!!
