My best friend lives in Harbor Springs... she just moved up there about 8 years ago...she works for the City up there. Has 35 acres and she and dh built house plunk in the middle. It's like going to little house on the prarie... Her dh passed suddenly about 4 years ago so I try to make it up as often as possible.
Then we go to a few places on the Western part of the state... my brother has a place in Rothbury ... and we go to Lake in the Woods cabins every Labor day for a 4 day family reunion. We used to rent cabins up Curtis in the U.P. when kids were growing up...but stopped when they were teens because they found it boring. Now my dd and ds always say, "Why did we quit going up there"? lol Anyway, I'll let you know if we're coming by your way and you let me know if your ever down this way... I'm in Westland southeast of Ann Arbor.

Hi ladies. Just back from my 3 month Onc. followup. It had been weighing on my mind for the last few weeks. Dr. said everything looks really good. All the blood work came back ok just will have to wait for a few more lab results in a couple of days but he said he expects they will be fine.
Coonie- Seeing the pict of your babies made me think of when we kept my in laws Dachshund Rusty while they were on vacation. My FIL is retired so Rusty goes everywhere with him and is quite spoiled. Rusty would get very upset if we left him at home and once my son fell asleep on the living room floor and Rusty ate his pant leg all the way up past the knee.
But the funniest thing was (not funny at the time) one day I was taking him for a walk and he yanked the leash right out of my hand. I chased him all over the campus of our local community college. Every once in a while he would stop and wait for me to catch up and then take off again. He would stop along the way and let the college kids pet him and then turn to me just as I got close to him grin and take off again. Finally one of the students opened the door of the English building and in went Rusty. Boy did he cause a rite. A young man finally caught him and I CARRIED him all the way home. He sat on the sofa all afternoon grinning at me and giving me this look that said HA GOT YA!!!!!
He is older now so he spends lots of time just sittin on the front porch of my inlaws house but every time I see him I have to laugh. He still has that look in his eyes.

BKC----that is a true down to earth dachshund story. Mine have some the most similar things in the past. One got out of the car at a K-mart, dashed right in and we had to run him down. It's like he was laughing the whole time!!! Crazy critters...........we still love 'em though.!!
