Homeopathy/ naturopathy/ reflexology/ acupuncture

Options

Hi all,

My Mum has just been diagnosed with (hopefully primary) breast cancer and being all about integrated medicine she is having the surgery and radio as well as looking at therapies to complement it.
People have recommended finding a naturopath/homeopath and a reflexologist.  Also acupuncture has been mentioned.
I have used naturopaths before and found them great as well as acupuncture, which was absolutely brilliant.  I know a bit about homeopathy but haven't used it, nor reflexology.

Which would you recommend over the others?  I was advised more the homeopathy and reflexology side (while my experiences tend me towards naturopathy and acupuncture).

I am doing this research as - for some unknown reason - my Mum listens to me and wants my ideas!

Thanks in advance anyone with experience in these therapies who can offer some advice.

 Kris

Homopathic doctor do have a four year degree so they are a little different than a naturopathy. I really depends on what your mom wants out of this treatment.  There is no one best way...I really depends what areas she wants to address and someone she feels comfortable with.  The big issue is finding someone who works with cancer patients.

Many of us use a combination of all these.

I met with my onc yesterday (she's at Virginia Mason in Seattle) and had some questions about changes I should make to my life (stress relief, diet, etc.). She told me VM has a Cancer Wellness Center, which offers quite an array of treatments and services, including acupuncture and massage. She referred me, so I am going to meet with a doctor there next week. I am so curious! I'll see what I can find out, and report back. I have no idea how common this sort of adjunct center is these days; I didn't hear anything like this when I had treatment at VM in 2005.
