Karen...so sorry about your FIL.  I just don't even know what to say. I pray and cry so much even now, you would think I was just diagnosed. My thoughts are with you for your biopsy.  I have a biopsy coming up also... kind of anyway...the whole other breast.  No clue what's there because I have had no mammo or ultrasound since my diagnosis last year.  Hugs for you and all my June chemo girls. HunkyD

HunkyD - after 1 year it is common to have another mammogram, I just had mine a few weeks ago and all was clear, hopefully yours will be the same.

Karen here is hoping all will be well with you, lumps can be common also and hopefully yours is clear.

I was so shocked over the news of Rover that I am still having trouble believing it or should I say I don't want to believe it.

We all have to keep our heads up high smile and enjoy each day because as we all know tomorrow is never a guarantee.

    Take care everyone!!!!

Karen sorry to hear about your FIL. I lost my father to kidney cancer in Feb of 08 then I found out about my cancer in May of 08. The only positive thing to come from 08 was the birth of my grand daughter. I will pray you biopsies is clear.

HunkyD when is your surgery scheduled?

Kelly how did the packing go also how was graduation? My school has its graduation on May 21, so this will be a busy week.

What are all of Junies doing for Memorial Day? Hubby and I are going camping with oldest daughter and son-in-law and of course the Kody, the grandson. On Monday hubby and I will be going to the Black Hills National Cemetery for the service there. That is where my dad is buried. Will be meeting my Mom.

Have a good week and keep everyone posted on progress or how you are feeling.

I haven't checked in here in a while, but do try to keep up, but am just reading about Rover. I just can't believe that with all the treatments she had nothing worked. I was checking and her last post was in the middle of March and then she was gone April 6. It's just not fair! But then, nothing is in this life - as we all know too well. I'm having my one year follow-up PET scan on Tuesday, reading about recurrence and metasteses(?) has been freaking me out. I'm hoping and praying that all will be clear.

Karen - so sorry about your father-in-law.

Hunky - hope all has gone well with you.

Hi to all the Junies and wishes that you all are doing great.

Hi everyone..Kelly, hope you had a good weekend at graduation.  I have been to S. Dakota once.  Yesterday my husband and I took a drive to a place a couple hours from us called the City of Rocks.  It's a national preserve and you will just have to google it if you really want to know about it.  World class rock climbing goes on there.  We hiked around a bit with the dog and had a great day out.  Got home and found myself not as tired as I thought I would be.  Today, I went to work for a while and then we took another drive the other direction.  Very warm here....87 degrees.....finally some heat.  Just trying to do some things out and about before I go back under the knife.  Wyoming..my surgery is May 26.  Just a bunch of surgeon appts, blood banking, and pre op this next week.  Then the first surgery the following week.  Memorial Day weekend we are thinking of camping too.  Not sure where or anything. There is always a gazillion people camping on that weekend.  We are just going to play it by how I feel.  Don't know how well I will do tent camping but I guess I will find out.  That's sometimes the fun way to do things...spur of the moment. My nerves are playing with me a bit so I am just trying to put the up and coming surgeries out of my mind.  Wyoming, sounds like you will have a fun weekend and emotional one as well.  My thoughts are with you....I hope you have a great time with the grandson.  I guess that is a given though!  LOL.   Karen...still thinking about you too.  I don't think there is a day I don't think about you all.   BBLady...wow...long time no hear from you.  Hope you are doing well and fingers crossed for your tests coming up. Bonnie...hope you are fine.  Must feel good to have a clean check on the other breast.  Signing off...three days of work this week and then I will be off for quite a while.  Hugs to all...HunkyD

Thank you to everyone for your condolences.  We have one more night at the funeral parlour and the service is tomorrow.  I feel drained comforting everyone.... someone has to do it.

Well my breast mri didn't show anything out of the norm but I go Monday for a needle aspiration instead of a biopsy.  Keeping my fingers crossed.   I had been having a problem with my left leg and didn't mention it to the onc and I noticed yesterday a bit of a lump at the top of my leg.  Anybody had this happen.   Will have to ask family doc I guess.  God .... it seems like things keeping popping up.

HunkyD... my very best wishes to you for your upcoming surgeries.  I am sure all will go well and you can relax through the summer.

Wyoming..sounds like you will be busy this week. How was the service??

Kelly  sounds like a nice trip you are goingon.

BBlady  hope all goes well for you with the scan.

Bonnie.. glad to hear your mammo was clear. We just have to keep plodding along and hope all will be well.

Today I am off to shop for some flowers... always makes me feel better.

Have a good day my Junies.

Wyoming...sounds like your school year is winding down.  Going to have to google Devils Tower.  I am not sure what that is.  Hope you have a great Memorial Day Weekend.  How could you not with family and "the Kody man".

Karen...I know you are under a lot of stress now.  I hope you get through this and then your tests come back perfect.  Don't know about the lump on the leg...is it near your pelvis or down lower?  I guess if it remains painful it needs to be checked.  You know the drill as well as I do.

Kathy, guess you had your scan today.  Fingers crossed for you too.  We aren't ever going to get rid of these fears I'm afraid.

Bonnie...Kelly...glad you are still posting.  I am so hoping our group keeps sharing a little of each others lives.  We have too much in common to drop the thread.  I haven't heard from our little vinogal for a while.  I hope her reconstruction is going better now.  I'm thinking about ya Jax.

Half a day at the blood bank and surgeon appt for me today.  They couldn't get a full pint of blood from me so she wasn't sure if they can use what they got.  Rules and regulations.  I don't know.  I just know I need 3 pints by June 16.  First Surgeon appt went ok...quite a wait to see him however.  Hope you all have a decent sleep tonight....HunkyD

Well I know they said this chemo would induce menopause but I felt very grumpy today so I wondered if they were wrong and I was PMSing.  I guess time will tell...

Holiday weekend coming up, I have lots of family coming for my sons graduation and other celebrations.  We are all going to walk or run in the Bolder Boulder.  A 10k we said we would walk in last year, of course now I regret saying that but am stuck walking it.  :)  I may be too pooped to post after that...    It is also my 19th wedding anniversary, so it will be fun to have a party.  Some days it feels like forever and other times it feels like it went by in the blink of an eye.

I am still trying to remember to post a new photo.  I will add it to my to do list so I can ask the boys to help me.   Everyone enjoy the rest of the week and let everyones health stay good or get better!!    Kelly

HynkyD, if I were in Idaho I would give you some of my blood, but you may not want it as it has all kinds of drugs in it. Some you don't want. Then again it may not hurt. HAHAHA

Karen I would have my leg checked. I have too many fears anymore.

Kathy how did you scan go?

Kelly congratulations on your 19 wedding anniversary. I have been married 18 years.(second time around) Make sure to take a break if you get too tired walking.

Vinogal and Jax let us know how you are doing.

    Happy Hump day.

    Hi all,

Just got home and I am so thankful!  My PET scan was totally clear!! I guess NED gets to sleep at my house tonight.  I've been praying and hoping that he'd show up!  I appreciate all the support that I get from you guys.  I'll try to be better about posting.

HunkyD - I'll be thinking about you and praying for you on the 26th.  Hope all goes well.

Karen - get your leg checked if for no other reason than you won't have to stress about it.  I'm terrible about thinking things are worse than they are.  I'm finally discovering its better to know what you're dealing with and not just guess.

Kelly - I second the congratulations on your 19 years. Had our 24th this year.  I'm hoping for a party/cruise/vacation to celebrate our 25th.  Haven't really gone anywhere in a long time.

Hope all the rest of you are doing good.

HunkyD have fun this weekend before you have surgery. As soon as you feel up to it post to let us know how things went. I'll be thinking and praying for you.

Karen have you had your leg checked?

Kelly thanks for reminding me that I need a new and updated picture also. I have hair but not as much as on my photo. I actually look like cut my hair this way. Can't tell I had cancer.

I'm off to the Black Hills to camp for the weekend.

     Happy Memorial Day

Kathy... congrats on the NED... that is great news.

Wyoming...will send you positive vibes so that you get those markers into remission.  Enjoy your camping.

HunkyD...I second Wyoming.. I will pray all is well for you.  Let us know how things go.

Kelly... good luck with that 10K walk... let me know how you did it..  I can't imagine walking that far.... I would end up falling down.....LOL

Well I went about my leg today.... doctor thinks it should be okay but sent me for an xray to make sure.  She mentioned a bone scan...but I had one before chemo and it had come back okay.  Will wait and see.   I have my lump to be aspirated Monday...not really looking forward to that either.   Anyway the weather is lovely here so I am enjoying each day.

Happy Memorial day to all the U.S. ladies.    Question for you... are you happy with Barack Obama???

    Enjoy the day

Jax YEAH on being healed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Hope it isn't too painful. I like you picture.

Kathy I'm going to sound dumb again but what is NED?

Karen how did your aspiration go? As to you question on Obama, I haven't made up my mind yet. It seems he was hit with a lot of stuff right off the bat.

Kelly are you hurting after your walk and did you take a long nap afterwords?

HunkyD have been thinking and worry about you. Hope surgery went well.

Hope everyone else is doing great.

    Hi Everyone!

Have my boys home for a week before they start summer jobs at a church camp 4 hours away, so haven't had much of a chance to get on the computer.

Wyoming - NED is No Evidence of Disease. Don't feel dumb, I had to look it up on past boards a number of times before it actually sank in!

HunkyD - Hoping your surgery went well.

JAX - great to hear that things have gone well for you.

Hope everyone else is doing great,

    Kathy

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts.  Surgery over.  Got released last night.  Lot's of pain and 6 drains this time.  Everything was clear in the breast so that was good.  Alloderm sling and expander.  3 weeks and then the work starts on the other breast.  Still pretty looped from drugs so I am going to keep this short. Can't remember much of the posts I've read but congrats Kathy on the good scan.  I will post again later when I am not on so much pain meds.  Take care....HunkyD

HunkyD... so glad everything went well.  Six drains... why so many??   That is never fun especially taking a shower.  Hang in there.

Wyoming... have you had your markers done again??  Hope everything goes well for you.

Congrats Jax... good luck with the upcoming exchange surgery.

Well I had the aspiration done... no results yet.   Doc did xray the leg and that was okay.   It seems like I keep finding something going on.  I go back to work July 1st so maybe I won't focus so much on how I feel all the time.

Hope all the Junies are doing well.

    Enjoy your day

Wyoming, you are right about the drains being lovely little suckers.  Just got one out today, so now I'm down to 5.  Hope the rest come out Monday at next appt.  Is your school out?  Hope you have some fun visits this summer with your kids and grandkids.  I know you are just a wee bit partial to those little ones!!!  Good news with the CT scan too.

Vino..glad to see ya back and that you are healing up.  I am just learning about this expansion stuff.  You certainly have been through some rough times.  Hope you have a great time at the lake.  I remember last summer when you went...we were all on the chemo train.  Anyway...don't be a stranger anymore.  How about a pic from the lake again this year.  Would love to see you and the kids again.

Kelly, congrats on the anniversary.  Hope you had a great time with family.  I'll bet you had a good time at the BB 10K race too.  Great job if you made it!!!!

Karen, how is the leg?  Every little lump I have will always be a cancer worry for me.  My surgeon called me at home the minute he got the pathology report on my prophylactic mastectomy.  He knows how much I worry, so that was a very nice thing for him to do.  Hope yours comes out OK!  When do you have to go back to work?

Bonnie..I am not a lopsided amazon woman anymore.  I didn't get much of a fill in the expander yet so it is basically like having no boob.  Today I threw on a baggy blouse with no bra and went to PS appointment.  Just so strange. My reconstruction plans are to be much smaller than before and I am really looking forward to it.  I was always very large breasted so it is going to be a nice change.  I'll try not to gab about my reconstruction much and bore everyone as this really isn't a reconstruction thread.  I like to keep everyones health and happiness as my topic of choice.  I do like to bitch now and then though too!!!  Wink

BBLady....I know you are thrilled with your scan results.  You should be celebrating. I think we have a good group and this is our chemoversary month coming up.  Cheers to ya all...HunkyD

I had my son help me with loading my new photo.  I am a bit squinty eyed as it was sunny last week for my other sons graduation.

I did make it through the bolder boulder.  My six year old hurried me through it so we finished in one and a half hours.  My mom and sister finished just under 2 hours.  My son and husband were about 50 minutes.  My oldest son, who runs for the college, ran it in 34 minutes!   It was fun and I am glad I did it.  We are all going out for a family breakfast.   More later,   Kelly

Just a quick note to everyone to say hi, glad to hear everyone seems to be doing good or at least not to bad.

HunkyD I am very envious that you are not lopsided anymore, I still haven't made up my mind as to what to do about reconstruction.  The doc that I will go to if I want it done seems to like to do the reconstruction where he removes a piece from your abdomen or buttocks whichever is the best and transplants it to your breast. Thought that would be a good idea as I have enough on my stomach for 2 or 3 boobs!  That way it would be nice to have a new boob and a much flatter stomach.

Has anyone on here ever had that done or know of anyone who has.

HunkyD you take good care of yourself lay back and relax drains will soon be out.

Got to go now, going out for breakfast talk to you all later

    Bonnie
