Probably benign

I'm a 7 year survivor.  However, at my last mamogram in November, there was something suspicious, so I had an MRI at which time, the "lesion" was snipped out and a clip was put in.  I was advised

to have another in 6 mos, which I just had.  That showed something that was "probably benign" and I was told to have another in 6 mos. at the time of my next mamo.  What do you think?  Should I wait for 6 mos or be proactive and do something else?  What else?  I am treated at a world famous oncology site, so am well cared for.  Should I be concerned?  Thanks.

How about an US? I wasn't comfortable after "probably benign" findings (BIRADS 3--with f/u in 6  months recomendations) after my first 2 breast MRIs, so I asked my oncologist for f/u. The first time it was done by mammo, the 2nd time was done by US, fortunately, both times the results were clear. My gyn said that catagory is 98% correct--"probably benign" is generally benign--but the f/u tests helped to give me more peace of mind and helped me to be able to wait the recommended 6 months.

Hi Anne - I don't know what US and F/U means.  I'm sure it's something simple, but I can't think of it.  My doc is calling me Tues. to answer any questions I may have.  Thanks.
