I have no life! I've been posting hair pics through the years so here goes....
Someone post after this. I hate being a post killer!
Editted to add - thanks JudyRock. You are too sweet. Good luck with getting an appointment and taking care of the rib pain and LE. xxxooo
-
Ok Nancy, I'll post for ya!
You are beautiful and I love your hair in every picture!
Bonnie- I called to reschedule my Appt with Dr Jagzi. Reason my appt was cancelled is she is still out on maternity leave. Guess she's getting some great bonding time with her new little one! Waiting for a call back to see if I can get an earlier appt with someone to see about the rib pain and see if I can get some work restrictions to keep this darned lymphedema from acting up. (for some crazy reason, the LE is more emotionally draining for me than anything else- don't know why)
-
Nancy - Love your hair pictures! I agree with JudyRock - you look beautiful in all of them. Great job on the Wings of Hope website. I could not open the video will keep trying. I should have some pictures of sign to add.
I got an email stating my Tiger tickets will be in the mail early next week......YIPPEE.....can not wait to go. Anyone else get notification on tickets?
JudyRock - Did you get appointment at UM? Sorry you are having problems with the LE hopefully you will get answers soon.
Sue - Congrats on all your special anniversaries!
Wendy - Congrats to son on his GPA.....that is a big accomplishment!
Neesie - Thinking of you and DH.
Hugs to all.

Nancy - I was able to post sign pictures on the Wings of Hope website under 2008 walk. Hope I did not screw anything up it asked about becoming a member?
Can you send me a list of the survivors on this year's walk. Thought I would list the particiapating survivors on my sign.
Thanks
Wings

Thanks for the compliments you guys - blush, blush.
I tore myself away from the computer for a short time and see that I have email asking if you can join the site. But, of course! I didn't know I had to give permission. Thank you for adding to it! That's the picture I was looking for of your sign!
The video is a Windows Media File format. You may need a plugin. Are you able to watch other movies that go around on the web? My old computer had a very hard time with them. Didn't you say you are on dial-up?
Survivors on the Team this year... I'll hunt up the names and send them to you.

Hi to all!
Geez Nancy, think maybe you should stay home all the time! Liking the websites you have been working on! I played with mine for days just to add a picture and finally gave up and sent it out!
I didn't realize that so many of you have known each other so long until I visited your website....that is great! When did I pop in? 2 or 3 years ago?
Hoping all are doing well...........we are hanging in there. DH has CT scan a week from Sunday....that should tell us something. Hearing the Chuck Daly News today did not do much for his spirits.
See you soon,
Denise

Hey, everybody, had a pretty good day today.
You know how we are always saying that we need to get out there and live our dreams?
Well, my voice records pretty well, and I have done some voiceovers for work, particularly scripts that I've written for training, or to explain a feature. I've always sort of wondered what it would be like to read books on tape, and suchlike, but never done anything about it.
My husband registered me for a two hour class - basically called Intro to Voice Acting. I have a book, and DD and I are going to practice. He suggested some voice coaches, and gave us a list of agencies, and some suggestions for publishers that work with voice talent.
And this lady at the back of the room - asked if chemo could have a negative impact on the quality of your voice. So, I had to go over after class and introduce myself. She's a 3-yr survivor, has two teenagers, lives in Livonia, will be going to the baseball game next Sunday (anyone else get an e-mail, saying they got tickets - my family and I are all going), and is walking at CoMerica on the 30th. She always wanted to be an actress, but got side tracked.
This disease has opened doors for me.
Nancy, our website is amazing! Thank you so much for all your time!
Neesie - will say a prayer for your DH.
-
Neesie - I'm back to work this week. I've had a nice rest in spite of everything. I'll be back to checking my email and updating the sites on weekends or the wee hours of the morning. Your sign-on date says Aug 2006 but you were a different name before, right? I think many of you had to sign-on with different names when the format changed. I've been around since 2003 and back then, bc.org was very small. The first get-together was a huge event in Vegas. I couldn't make it but once people started meeting locally, I drove to Chicago by myself and joined them as you can see from the pictures. We used to do a gift exchange which was fun since it was a game where you take a gift away from a person. I don't remember how to play it now.
Not_Me started the Michigan post in 2004 and the rest is history. Thanks Not_Me! People come and go. I think that some want to move on and not be reminded of the worst time of their life. Others cannot bear to lose more friends and back off a bit. I've done both but always come back.
Sue - I think you are an inspiration for knowing what you want and going for it! I always wondered if I could do voice-over for cartoons. I KNOW I sound like Elmer Fudd ("silly wabbit"). People always ask me if I have a accent. Umm, no! Keep us posted on how things go.
Be sure to mention to the woman in your class that she is welcome to join us for lunch after the Race even though she isn't on the Team.Check out the pictures that Wings added to our site. You can add comments to the pictures and add to it any way you want.
Crossing everything for a good CT scan for DH - neesie.
JudyRock - hope you got your appointment.
We only have until Tuesday to join the Team for the Race. If you know anyone who isn't coming to this site, be sure to send them email as a reminder. I sent a note to nurse_mikki and susieloutoo.

Nancy - Can we post pictures on Wings Of Hope without becoming member? I do not want to intrude on something that you created. I just wanted to add pictures and now my name is posted along with yours. I have more pictures but they are similar to the ones you have. I do have a couple of unique ones I will try and post later.
Thanks
Wings

Hi Wings - It looks like you have to join shutterfly as a member to post pictures. It made you a member already. I'd love to get the pics posted from everyone. Go ahead and add them to the album by their topic.
If someone doesn't want to join, just send the pics to me and I'll post them. If you want to start an album off topic, let me know and I'll show you how to set it up. If you want a family album I can help you set up something like the wings site very easy.
You can make albums private to only the group or certain people. I'd still be careful with personal info because this will be like a blog. Even the calendar may be too much in formation if we don't want the whole world knowing where we are going.
Irene sent me email with a note about a link to her pictures but I don't see the link. She will be unavailble for a little while but I'll catch her later.
There is a message board item, comments and other topics that are interesting on there. We can add or remove items easily.
All things about Wings of Hope, our get-together our bc.org friends... that's not an intrusion Wings. Thanks for adding!

Okay........either I'm a total moran or nobody 'loves' me. I sent out my fundraiser page over the weekend, and again this morning. I copied and pasted my addresses from my regular email.....put them on the site for the fundraising and sent it away. Now, here is the deal. The little check mark is checked saying to save addresses to address book..........if I check the address book on the site it show's nothing in there! But it said that my email had been sent.......................so, how do I know if all these folks got my email or not???? I feel stupid sending it a 3rd. time in as many days, just in case they have received it.
Hoping to play around on your site tonight, Nancy. Of course I don't know how to add anything there either!!
Looking forward to seeing all soon.......
Denise
-
Denise - Your fundraiser page looks great. I'm proud of you for adding a picture. What you could do is send me a note and do the exact same thing and I'll let you know if I get it. You sent it through the site and not regular email, right? There are all sorts of quirks with that site. They probably got the message but didn't save anything in your address book. I'll bet they are saved in their marketing database though.
When you send things through regular email, you can include yourself as bcc (blind carbon copy) so you have a record of what you sent and you know it went through. You don't show up on the list though.
-
Good idea, Nancy..........I'll send it to you. Um, what picture are you seeing?
Let me know via my home email if you get it, please!
Denise
-
Okay........Nancy, Bonnie and JRock..................I sent you all my fundraiser page just to see if it is going through! Let me know via home email if you get it!!
(I know, I'm pathetic!)
Denise
-
Denise- I didn't get an email from you.
Hmm, I wonder if mine had problems too? My baby sister always tells me to email her when it is this timeof year...so far she hasn't donated. Now I'm wondering if my emails didn't go through ??
-
Hey............it helps when fundraising to ACTUALLY send the email! Thanks for the suggestion Nancy!!
Denise
-
Sue - Did you get your Tiger tickets for Sunday? I will PM you and let you know where our seats are. Hopefully we can find each other and walk out on field together.
On my fundraiser page I had it all set up and personalized it.... then when I sent a test run all the info I had done was not there......discouraging.
Watch for Sue and I at the game on Sunday starts at 1:05.
Wings
-
Judy - you could try sending a test message also. I sent one to myself and it worked but it didn't save anything in the address book.
Wings - I think that site is just plain buggy! I do see your colors changed so it saved some things on your fundraiser page. Do you guys know you can see each other's pages by going to the Team page and selecting the names on the pull-down list? Not happy it has our real names but it's too much trouble to change it now.
Sue - when is your class? I want to hear all about it.
Wings & Sue - Have a great time at the Tiger game Sunday!!! Wave to us or do some kind of wings secret signal!
Nancy
-
Maybe we'd be able to spot them if they wore their boppers!
-
How do I join your group? And register for the race?
-
http://www.karmanos.org/detroitraceforthecure/index.asp
Jan, I think that is the webpage to sign up. It is too late, I think, to sign on to the team. So, sign up as an individual, but come meet us and walk with the team, we'd LOVE to have you!
You can also sign up at the New Balance store in Farmington. (I don't remember exactly where, but google knows-lol) today and next Saturday I think. The race site has New balance info .
I'm pretty sure we also have car pools going and meeting at the Meijer's parking lot at 96 and middlebelt (behind the Costco over there- se corner)
We havew a lot of fun and it's a really inspiring event. Please join us!
-
Jan, Please join us! They put a deadline on signing-up with the team because the team t-shirt pack up is next weekend. Like Judy said, you can still sign up as an individual and join us. You have until May 22nd to sign up online and pick up your shirt at the Race or follow the link below and pick up your stuff at New Balance. We'll consider you part of our team!
Yes, the plan is to caravan and carpool at Meijer's on Middlebelt, just South of I-96.
http://www.karmanos.org/detroitraceforthecure/packetpickup.asp
Looking at the Karmanos sites, they still have the wrong dates for Team package pick up! I re-checked my email and it says next Saturday. I'm going to be a little annoyed if early bird pack up was still today and I missed it!
Are we meeting next Sunday morning at Panera Bread to get the t-shirts? Which Panera and what time?
What time are we meeting at Meijer's on Race morning?
-
Thank you! I will do that and plan to meet you all at the Meijer. What time will you be meeting??
-
Greetings, Wings of Hope friends.
Today was our Komen walk in Columbus. We had over 46,000 registered participants and another 2,500 survivors!! Truly inspirational.
I put a couple dozen pictures on my blog.
I wore my MI head boppers & received several compliments on them!!
Go take a peek:
www.rainbowswithinreach.blogspot.com
It will get you psyched for your outing.... so sorry I can't join in the fun with you gals, too.
-
JudyRock - I will wear my boppers with pride at the game. Also made a small Wings of Hope sign!
Jan - Welcome to Wings of Hope Team!
Faith - Happy to see you here. Will check out pictures.
Sue - I will look for you at game! My DD could not get off work so just hubby, son and I.
Wings
-
Bonnie -
Got your seat location, and sent you ours back. I'm having trouble finding a pink t-shirt.
I feel like a debutaunt - and I only raised about 100 dollars!
Sue
-
Sue and Wings - I'm going to be looking for the bopper and sign. Have fun!
Jan - We haven't figured out a time yet to meet at Meijer's. You are welcome to meet us at Panera Bread next Sunday also if you want to meet some people. They will be picking up their t-shirts. But, every get-together is a fun time.
Sue - Anything you get for fundraising is icing on the cake. There is no pressure to do that. The Team has already raised $945.00! Whoo hoo! Many of the donations went directly to the Team page so you should watch the names to see if you recognize them.
JudyRock - I may have screwed up and missed early bird t-shirt pack up. What that means is next Saturday, everything will be boxed already and we don't see anyone to try and swap sizes. I wrote RaceLadyJan to see if I had the date correction wrong for early bird. Haven't heard from her yet. Were you planning on coming out to Sterling Hts? I'll talk to you later about other options if this was the case. Also, Irene may be making a wasted trip and I cannot get ahold of her right now. Anyone on Facebook? I'm not.
Faith - Love the pictures and even saw my name on your t-shirt. Sniff sniff - too nice. That pink dog is a hoot and I really liked the pink wigs! Check out our picture page. I'm sure you are there. If not, Irene and I have a bunch of shots on webshots that we are trying to figure out how to get over to shutterfly. http://teamwingsofhope.shutterfly.com/
Nancy
-
Hi everyone...looking forward to the race! And I hope the game today is fun for all of those who are attending. The sun is shining and it will be a great day!
I am on Facebook and will pass along the message to Irene. She is busy with a new grandson!!! -
Hey Jan........Looking forward to meeting you!
You guys are scaring me with all these meeting places........Panera, Meijer/96/Middlebelt..........for real, I am so dysfunctional with directions.(as most of you know!).....I think 96/696 is closed on weekends from here because of construction. I may need to call a 'cab' to the boonies to pick me up!
DH had his first CT scan since treatment started today............results on Tuesday. Positive thoughts are so appreciated and needed.
Nancy, If you missed 'early bird pick up' can the shirts be picked up anytime through the week? If so maybe DH and I can drive to get them for you. Let me know.
I've got a bunch of Pink ShoeLaces donated by New Balance for last years Pinkstock..........please remind me daily between now and the 30th to bring them for all!
See you all soon............
Denise
-
Faithy.............beautiful pictures, words and memories!!!! Sure wish you could join us again!
