I figured there would be a few of you who could relate to my "dressing fiasco". LOL
The "ugh" part to the story is, as EWB suggested, I keep a bag in my car with a spare sweat shirt, jacket, t-shirt, socks, etc. I put it there for emergencies back in our soccer days. Mark took the dumb thing out Sunday when we loaded the SUV to take the back seat out and didn't think it necessary to put it back in. I didn't think about him taking it out, so didn't realize that I needed to put it back either.
Good news is I had 2 blankets and we were in the car but for walking puppy dogs, so we were basically ok. If we had needed to be outside for a while, I would have even gone to a thrift store if I needed to!

-
P.S......I OFFICIALLY FINISHED CANCER TREATMENTS (HERCEPTIN) TODAY!!!!! WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My next move is to get "nips" and this dad blame port out, then I can put this whole cancer journey behind me once and for all........Not you all, just the cancer part!!!!!!!!!
-
Whooooohoooooo for our fashion diva.
Weather & travel & wardrobes ----- how I can relate.
Welcome to my world!!! LOL.
Glad that you looked good.
-
OoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooO
AND congrats on finishing treatment!!!
That's a fantastic post-mother's day file.
-
I can't resist sharing some pics of Camille I took of her yesterday in the car. This was her first overnight, long road trip. She did FANTASTIC!!!

-
OMGosh.. that dog is to die for!!! Did you have her in a car seat with a buckle?
-
Nope, I am one of those terrible pet moms that hold them in her lap......and pray for no accidents. I have thought about getting a pet car seat, but they either make the pet have to sit up the whole time, or they are made out of thick blanket like material and my pom would burn up in one of those. ....... Are you gonna turn me in to the puppy dog police?
-
Karen...I second that on the pics...very adorable! I have a 4 lb. yorkie..named Oliver..such a little sweet guy! I too hold him in my lap..even while driving! bad, bad.
Congrats on finishing your tx!!! I got my (only needed one) niple end of last summer and my tat this past winter. Love being finished. For me...the dang port was horrible..couldn't wait to get that out!! You will love the feeling of no longer having it in!!

I am so thankful for Dr Fortunado and what he is doing for Olivia.....I will be praying for his safety and a quick return.....
take care

I am also popping in to let everyone know, that Olivia is doing at least 75% BETTER!!!
I do believe we are now in the clutches of accurate treatments. She is continuing to gain weight and play outside.
She was climbing trees on saturday and very active all day. She still can't ride her bike or "run" around, but certainly walking around and OUTSIDE activity!!!!!!!
She is going to go full days to school for finals and the last day, calling me if she needs to be picked up.
She is still nauseated, but OBVIOUSLY waaaaayyyyy better and easier to tolerate. She is able to eat what she wants when she wants and hasn't take anti-nausea meds in 10 days.
With all this said, I just want to let all of you posters and readers know that God heard all your prayers, and Olivia and I absolutely drew from YOUR strength. All of you have carried us through this uncertain and unnerving time when we need you most.
I will never be able to express just how much everyone here means to me. I pray for everyone of you deligently and I will continue to ask God's blessings on you all.
I will come back here to post any "new" news or occasional updates, but I think the time as FINALLY come that Olivia is in a great place now and while still coveting your prayers, want to encourage everyone to take the time that you would normally spend on this thread, take your love and support to others in need either here or on the other board at www.breastcanswers.com/bcforum/index.php
I hope you "get my drift" as to what I am trying to say. I can only compare it to this: When I was going through my mastectomy and A/C treatments I relied so heavily on my choir and sunday school. But when I got to feeling better from that last A/C treatment, I felt that the burden had been lifted off me AND my church family. I know I WASN'T a burden to them, I just felt like I could "release" them from the burden they FELT for me.
That is how it feels here. Olivia is doing GREAT and while I know we have not been a burden TO you, I feel like it is time to "release" the burden you have FELT for Olivia and me.
Anyway, I may not be saying this right, but I know you get what I am trying to say. Time for you ladies to fly to greener or perhaps "grayer" pastures?

-
Karen, this is such an inspiring and wonderful post to see. And another miracle has happened. Thankyou for sharing your miracle with us. I wish you and your family well. Gentle hugs.
And, you did word it perfectly.

-
I had to pop in with a Praise God. So happy Olivia is doing so much better and that you have finished your treatment. What a wonderful miracle. If you need us prayer warriors again all ya gotta do is call our names.
-
Oh Karen,
That is just absolutely wonderful news about our dear Olivia. Just picturing her playing outside, climbing trees (which I loved to do as a child) and able to eat and gain weight..is heavenly!! God did listen to each and every one of our prayers. Praise God...and thank you Lord for taking such good care and finding the right treatment for your daughter Olivia.
Well..Karen..we are here, if you should need us again..you know that! I love all of my dear sisters here..they truly mean so much to me.
Enjoy all of your precious days ahead with your Olivia...we know they grow so fast. My Olivia just turned 18...graduates in a few weeks..and will then be leaving me to go to college in Florida!! My baby is leaving my nest......
...so hang on to Olivia tightly..and ask her to grow up slllloowwwwlllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.xoxo

Just popped in, Olivia was on my mind last night, wondering how she was progressing. My prayers and good thoughts continue to be with you!
-
-
olivia is still holding at about 75%! She has regained about 8 pounds so that is excellent! She got Wii "Fit" for her birthday and is able to do all the exercises on it, but they are not at too fast a pace. Still not swimming or riding her bike, but heck we take what we got and celebrate!

-
so good to hear that things are still going in the right direction! I imagine it will take some time to recover completely with all she went thru. My prayers continue to be with her
-
Hi Karen good to hear Olivia is doing well...Now how are YOU doing?,,,,,We don't hear much about that and hope you are taking care of YOU too........Call me soon and we will get together.......
-
Thanks for the update.
xx00xx00xx
I echo Holly's concerns.
we're here to support you.
-
Hi Karen, thanks for the update. God has brought her to 75% plus 8 pounds; the swimming and bikeriding are sure to follow - God is Able.
Blessings and prayers for you both.
-
Hi Karen
thought I would check to see if there was an update and WOW Olivia is getting FAT....8 lbs is great.....sounds good....take care of you and Olivia
thanks for the update
Blessings to your family
-
Olivia is still holding at 75% ish and IMHO pretty much closer to 100%. I believe she is more afraid of TRYING to ride her bike or go swimming than the actual act itself. I beleive she would be fine doing them, but what do I know....LOL
I am doing GREAT because I had my nipple recon and port removal done last thursday!!!!! It was the icing on the cake!!!!!! The official end to this long (as we all know too well) journey! All that is left is the "decoration on the cake" a.k.a. "tattoo's" LOL!!!! But as far as I am concerned, thursday finished me!!!!!

I pray all are having a great summer!!!!
-
glad to hear that Olivia is doing so much better!
Karen...I got my tattoo..and very happy with how great my "foob" looks!
You all have a great summer too!
Lisa
-
Karen, I've been missing you and your updates on Olivia and just your kind and loving way. I had to llok you up and found you here! I'm so glad to here you got nipple reconstruction done. What method did your ps use? I finally got my good boob augmented to match my foob on June 11th. It's still pretty sore. I'm not sure I want to go through the bother since a manufacture nipple is not going to match the real one anyway and deep in my heart, I think I will eventually have the existing one removed too. I still fail every mamogram I have on it! Take care! Joyce
