High Blood pressure - looking for help
Hi Ladies......I'm looking for some information. I am currently on a clinical trial of ovarian supression and tamoxifen. I hate the SE's and really want to quit. One of my big problems now is high blood pressure. My dr has given me Toprol and I really hate it! I hate taking any meds. at all! I'm looking for natural alternatives to help with the blood pressure and was hoping someone here had advice
Thanks so much!
Judy

Hi Judy! I am not a doctor, but I have a friend who had high blood pressure and was on medication, I told her about the supplement CoQ10 which she started taking, within two weeks she was off her blood pressure medication, again I am not a doctor, but I do know that CoQ10 worked for her.
Best of luck!

Hi Judy,
Like Lorraine, I am not a medical doctor! I've heard that cinnamon can be helpful for high blood pressure. I think the dosage that's recommended is about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per day. Cinnamon can be added to foods, or can be taken as a capsule. They do sell it in the stores--I've even seen it in Walmart--but you can make your own capsules, too (I do!).

Hi:
I heard that garlic pills lower blood pressure.

Peeps--I was just looking for this thread to write the same thing that you did! I remember reading or hearing a while back that garlic was good for lowering blood pressure. Plus, a few nights ago I was reading this month's Prevention magazine, and one of the articles discusses this very same thing. I take Kyolic's odor-free vegetarian formula garlic capsules, and I don't notice any garlic smell (when I recently told my friend that I take garlic every day she told me that she never smells it on me--it was nice to hear that from an objective source!).

Thanks for all the advice! I already take CoQ10, so I think I am going to try the garlic. I've always heard that it was good for us in so many ways.

One tea to avoid when you have high blood pressure is licorace tea, and licorace in general. It's well known to raise blood pressure, amongst other. Good luck.

I used to take Altace for high blood pressure. After I was diagnosised DCIS, I walked a lot, take a spoon of apple cider venegar mixed with warm water 3 times a day, eat buckwheat soup, you can buy raw buckwheat in healthy store and use a slow cooker to make the soup. Eat some seaweed. All together lower my blood pressure enough not to take medicine anymore.

Research garlic extract...research shows lowers blood pressure, protects acteries veins, and reduces the risk of blood clots.
