Had another treatment today. Blood work was great.  I too have dry skin so I use the loofa on my legs and stomache. Snow today but warm enough to melt. Kelly sounds like Colorado is getting hit hard.

So far no constipation for me but I eat alot of fiber to make sure I don't. I have to eat alot of small meals or snack all the time. Of course I chose healthy snacks.HAHAHA. I'm a junk food junky!!!!Tongue out

Have a good Weekend. If is nice get out and enjoy.

Today I am going to have my eyebrows waxed.  They are finally back but they are looking crazy!  We really did not end up with much snow but it has rained non stop.  Everything is really greening up and looks nice and springy!  Enjoy your weekend everyone!    Kelly

78 degrees here now...what a change.  Turned the air conditioner on.  Didn't work yesterday.  Didn't feel real good.  Back at it today though.  Wyoming...glad you trts are not knocking you down.  So glad to hear your counts are good.  I appreciate a day feeling good now more than I ever did in my life.  I'm finding out physical work, lifting, etc. really sets me back when I over do it.  Going to have to take it easy.  Of course I take it easy at home but sometimes push a little too hard at work.  Kelly, gosh, I am still filling my brows in.  They just are slow.  I have plucked a straggler here and there but still need my brow kit.  Arhgg!  Oh well, shouldn't complain.  Get my vitamin B shot tomorrow.  Maybe it will be my last one. Hope everyone else is doing ok.  Our group is getting pretty quiet...I even miss everyone talking about dog crap...jeeze!  That reminds me...Senekot (natural laxitave) has been recalled because of some labeling issue.  Hope it gets back on the shelf soon.  Take care!  HunkyD.

Edited to add:  Bonnie..My bra is off...shoes are off...oh, the simple pleasures!

I have two days off and the sun will be shining.  I have enough hair to put my scarves away for now.  I feel certain I will need them again in a year or two so I am saving them.  I hope I am wrong but I am a pessimist about the whole stage 4 thing.  Tomorrow I have three dr appts but I am going to race through them so I can get outside to sit in the sun on my swing and read.  I can't wait!

Hunkydory~ in reference to dog poop, we have a lot now and my six year old will only pick up the little ones from the new puppy Song,  if it is too big she calls Dad and tells him that is big poop from Hank the big dog      I knew you wanted to  know about that.    Kelly

Hunkydory - I know exactly what you mean, nothing like taking the bra and shoes and just sitting back relaxing.  I never appreciated these things so much before!!

Still getting my Herceptin, I think that is what is keeping me so out to lunch all the time, can't seem to do anything for more than half an hour then have to rest.

Come on here often I just never know quite what to say some times as my life is pretty boring, although I also get to go out in the back yard and pick up dog poop before I step in it which has happened occasionally.

    Everybody take care

Hope  everyone had a great weekend and beginning of the week. I had trt Friday and on Sat I  slept and Sunday the joy of laundry. Had Parent/Teacher conferences last last night.

Kelly and HunkyD I still have to use the brow pencil. I never had dark brows before but at least I had more than now. As for dog poop that  is my hurbby's job. I get the cat box and when it is nice cat goes outside so hubby gets both. HAHAHA HunkyD I have to watch myself if I try to do too much too. I'm much better at home than I am at work. My principal caught me slouching in my chair on Monday. When I apologized he said do what ever I need to do. I have a great boss.

One of the side effects of new trt is bloody noses. I'm trt to teach and talk to my students my nose starts to bleed. Good thing they are understanding.

When I get home I'm going to enjoy the weather as it is to get icky this weekend.

    Talk to you later

sounds like things are going alright for everyone.  Yes, I am like you, still penciling in my brows.  My hair is growing but seems like cotton and curly.,.never had curly before.  Did you end up with curls??

Wyoming...the bloody noses must be a nuisance...hope that will go away for you.

HunkyD... that is a nice temp... we are at 24 celcius this weekend...it is warm..not sure what that is in farenheit.

Kelly.... I hope you don't have to wear the scarves again.  It would be nice if they could come up with a drug for all ladies that are stage 4.

Bonnie... you should drop by and chat about anything.... we are all ears here.

As for myself I am trying the castor oil packs as per the Naturpath...very messy but quite soothing at the same time.  Hasn't made a difference with the b/m's yet.   I am on my way out to buy Dandelion tea... suppose to help as well.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.. enjoy the day

    Happy Saturday All

Had to work for a couple hours today.  Husband went with me to help.  He set the security alarm off and the police were dispatched.  I about crapped when I heard the alarm go off.  Didn't know what to do.  I was embarrassed to say the least.  We have to go again tomorrow but I don't think he will even be touching a door.  Going to make some dinner in a while.  I'm like you Wyoming...saved the laundry for the weekend too.  About the nosebleeds...that would be annoying.  Do you get them at night when you are sleeping too?  Glad you have a great group of kids and a good boss.  Just think...only another month of school!!!

Karen...sorry about your constipation problem.  Hope you can find something that works.  Kelly, I am amazed your 6 year old will even pick up puppy poop.  That is amazing!!!  That reminds me, we rented the movie Marley and Me to watch.  I heard it was sad yesterday so I don't know if I want to watch it now.  Bonnie..glad you popped in here.  I have appt with plastic surgeon this coming week and I am pretty nervous about it.  Question for any of you...does anyone have one of those cordless stick vacuums, and if so, how do you like it and what brand?   Have a wonderful weekend everyone...HunkyD

HunkyD-- I read the book Marley and Me and I cried at the end. Good book but sad. My daughters dog has congestive heart failure so she doesn't have much time so I not going to let her watch the movie. I  had a cordless vacuums. I don't remember what brand but I think it was a swifter. I used it in my bathrooms. But now I have a house cleaner and don't use it any more. The only thing I didn't like was that the filter was really small. HunkyD sorry but I laughed when I read how the police were dispatched. Sounds like something I would do.

Nose bleeds are annoying. I get them in the morning then a lot of blood thought out the day. I have to but my Kleenex in a bio-hazard bag because of the blood.

Karen hope your constipation get better. My hair is more curly now but I will how it is after I get a trim which is Tuesday.

I had my grandson today. We danced and played all day. He is such a good little boy. I marvel at how much I can love someone. I laugh all day so I'm getting a lot of positive therapy, both my grand babies are the best medicine.

Everyone who has appointments next week good luck and let us know what happens.

Have a great Sunday and hopefully have a nice day. It is to be cold here.

We woke up to snow this morning.  It looks very pretty and luckily I did not have to drive anywhere in it.  I think it will be melted by lunchtime.  I am out of milk so I will have to go out to the store for a few things. I am wearing old sweats so I will try sneak in and out without anyone seeing me.

I have been trying a chiropractor for my back.  I can't tell if it is helping or not.  The pain just seems to be moving around but maybe it will help.  I am going to go 4 times and then see if it is worth returning for more.  My insurance will cover 40 visits a year.  That seems like a lot.  I am not going that much.  Have any of you tried chiropractors?  I never really thought much of them before but my partner has a lot of back issues and he thinks they are great.

     Have a great day,   Kelly

Kelly, I have used a chiropractor before and I think they help. Have you thought about acupuncture? My insurance pays for acupuncture and it helped with some of my knuckle pain.

Had my off week of txt and feel great so it is time for more txt to knock me down. I guess we just get into the habit. Thank goodness this doesn't knock me down so far.

I have 22 school days left. YEAH!!!!! I get as excited as my students. It makes txt much easier.

    Everyone have a nice day.

Wyoming...hope your treatments go well this week.  Thanks for the imput on the stick vacuums.  Basically I just need a housecleaner too.  My husband doesn't seem to have the credentials.  Glad you had fun with you grandson.  Fun days.  I bought myself a leather with sterling plate bracelet that says "Nothing is worth more than this day"  just to remind myself not to be so bitchy.  I don't know if it will work but I am wearing it every day.  Kelly...never used a chiro for 20 years.  I have no opinion on them other than the fact they want you to keep coming.  I say if it works....do it.  We don't need to live with more pain than necessary. Our water heater blew out Sat night.  Another chunk of change for a new one.  Other than that...just work for me.  PS appt Thursday.  Nerves are setting in. Hope everyone else is comfy....wind is blowing again here...didn't reach 50 today but at least no snow.  Later...HunkyD

My hair cut turned out great, only had a micro bit off but it is shaped up. She also showed me how to style it. I now look like someone who cut their hair this way. It has way more body and curl than I'm used to.

HunkyD good luck with your PS appt. Keeping fingers crossed. The wind is blowing here also and it is cold. I keep hearing about a big storm coming. I'm ready for Spring and warm weather.

Hubby is going paddle fishing this weekend so I get to be alone which I don't mind. I get to have what ever I want for dinner and have the bed all to myself.

    Everyone keep talking.

Glad to hear  that you guys seem to doing not to bad, meaning hunky and wyoming. There hasn't been a lot of activity on here lately, maybe that is a good sign that nobody needs any help, although it would be nice just to hear from some others.  I think I will go and book an appointment to get my hair cut, it is also curly which it never has been before but the ends look like a bad perm or something. Need to get it shaped up I guess and like you said the ends probably just nipped off.  Well not much going on here will be going for another muga scan shortly to see if I can keep taking the Herceptin. Not sure if it is the Herceptin or the Tamoxifen that make me so tired and miserable or maybe it is just me lol.

Anyway have to go you two have a good weekend

Holy cow I have to schedule a whole day at the medical imaging place.  I have to get a bone density test, a cat scan to check my lungs, another bone test I can't recall right now, and a muga.  I will be there from 10:15 until 5pm.  So much for a day off~

Funny how everyone gets concerned after I fracture my back...  which feels a little bit better these days so I am not too worried about all these tests.  Nice to know I have the bones of a 70 year old!  Oh well, I will add that to the list of things I am not going to worry about.   :)    Kelly

Wyoming...glad you can tolerate the treatments.

HunkyD  how did your appt go?..hope things are okay.

Bonnie I am on tamoxifen as well... are u having any side effects??

Well, my hubby is laid off two days a week now, so it has been different both of us home 4 days a week.   He did clean windows today... I think that is a first in 17 years....LOL.

I see the onc May 15 and the insurance says if he gives me the all clear I may be going back to work in June.  I would love to have the summer off...since last summer did suck so much for all of us.  Guess I can't push it.   Will let you all know.    Nice day hear today... quite sunny...should be a good weekend.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend.

Kelly, hope all your scans come out good and your muga too.  That is a long day.  I can't speak for everyone on this group, but I know my body feels old now.  Wonders of chemo huh?  To all of you still getting trt my thoughts are with you.  Wyoming...hope you have a restful weekend without hubby.  Maybe a good book...movie..or something.   I could not finish watching that movie Marly and Me.  When the sad part started and I knew what was coming, I shut it off.  Husband did not argue either.  Karen...how in the world did you get hubby to wash windows?  Mine would probably spray ours down with the garden hose if I asked him to wash them.  Enjoy your time together and keep him busy.  I saw PS yesterday...only 2 hours.  Surgery to take of the left side with reconstruction (teaming with regular surgeon) is May 26.  Three weeks later reconstruction on other side (MX) last year.  Third surgery scheduled sometime after that for touchups, etc.  I just knew the other had to come off so I figured if insurance pays...might as well go through the hell of recon.  I just have these visions of them cutting into me and finding more.  I guess thats what we all deal with now forever.  SO.....Karen....while you are working this June...Wyoming and myself will be playing online poker or something.  LOL...I will be off work for weeks.  Bonnie...I am a Tamoxifen witch.  I don't think my body likes it so don't feel alone.  Such a tiny little pill can cause so many SE's.  Hope you are doing OK.  I do think about you June girls daily.  Karen reminded me of how crappy our summer was last year.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  HunkyD

Bonnie getting a hair cut will make your hair look soooooo good. I love how my hair is now,.

Kelly take a good book when you go to all of your apointments. It might make the day so fastser.

Karen lets hope this summer is better than last year in fact lets hope 2009 is better than last year!

HunkyD good luck with the surgery. Try to enjoy the weeks off from work, I know the first week will be tough then you get to go under again. Kinda like chemo just when you start feeling good you have another txt and bam back to feeling bad. Maybe surgery will go better. I do feel old especially after finding my mets in lungs and liver.

I have GREATnews. My counts are down and in three weeks get another CT scan. If my counts are good and CT scan is good I will be classified as chemical remission. Then we will start to ween me off the txt until I only have to go every 8 weeks or so. I told onc that I would be willing to as often as need to keep this cancer away. Family is excited. My daughters were relived. They show thier concern is such different ways. This takes a lot off their shoulders. Same for hubby. I have to remember they are going through this with me. They have all be supportive not washing windows supportive but they have been there. I will quit rambling, it must be the Decadron!!!

Take care and keep posting as this group has helped me so much. I really appreciated everyones post and kinship. I have to go find an on-line poker game.

Weekend flew by this time.  Had to go to work a bit again today but didnt take long.  Husband didnt set any alarms off.  We went to Walmart afterwards and bought a carpet sweeper...just one of the cheepo push type.  I just worry that I am going to be laid up quite a bit and still want to get the chunks off the floor.  Also, to my total shock...husband, king of the BBque...bought a george forman grill.  We did chicken breasts on it tonight and I have to admit....it was quick...easy and good. I think we will use it and it wont be just another trinket in the closet. On the way home from walmart....we ended up doing about a 2 hour ride along the river with the dog and just kind of enjoyed our time together.  It wasn't planned or anything so it was one of those fun times.  Made husband stop to get me a a beer I felt so good.  Rained pretty hard here today.  I spent the weekend trying to clean and get ready for being laid up in three weeks.  Wyoming...i don't know jack squat about online poker but maybe we can try yahoo messenger or something.  I could probably talk anyones ear off.   Here is hoping you all have a great sunday night....I also like the kinship we have in our group.  If I yap too much just tell me to shut it up for a bit. Later to all...HunkyD

Wyoming..great news... hope you stay in chemical remission always.  It is great that your family feel some relief that things look so good.  It's funny how you are going through all this and in actual fact so are they as they watch and listen.

HunkyD... sounds like you have quite alot coming up but I am glad you are doing what you feel right about.  I guess you guys will be off online poker and I will be working....hey maybe I can play at work....LOL.

Well, I have my first mammogram tomorrow and ultrasound..keeping my fingers crossed.  They have me booked for an MRI next Monday.  The onc wants me to do all this as I found the lump myself and the mammo didn't pick it up.  Hopefully it will be a nice day and I will walk over to the hospital..saves on paying for parking.

Hope you all enjoy your day tomorrow.

The mammo wasn't as bad as I expected and they did an ultrasound because I have a lump between the lumpectomy incision and the lymph incision...the ultrasound techy said she thinks it is a cyst.  I guess I when I go next monday for the mri ... they will know more.   I go to the new hospital in Brampton and the digital pictures from the mammo are too much.  The girl doing the mammo said things looked okay.   I see the onc next Friday... will let you know.

Wyoming... Vacation time soon... glad you will have time off to have some fun...16 days and counting..

HunkyD... that drive around the river sounds very relaxing.  What river would that be??  There is not much water here.

Hope all the Junies are doing well.

    Enjoy the day

Just a note to tell everyone "hi".  I had my bloodwork for my 6 month bloodwork last Friday and I go tomorrow for the results.  Just didn't feel this nervous the first time around.  Maybe it's just jitters.

Hope all is well with everyone.

On my way to work I read a sign in front of the church that said "we're too blessed to be depressed!       I loved it so this is what I did...

I skipped out of work early to watch my first grader sing dinosaur songs.  Very exciting.  I always laugh at how many camcorders are at those things.  I couldn't go in the door because I didn't want my backside on everyones video, I had to wait for a break to make a run for the chairs.  All the video parents stand by the aisles so I got a good view.  My own hubby was in the back taking pictures too  :)  Then we rode bikes home and enjoyed the sunshine!   I am off until Tuesday~  everyone enjoy the weekend and stay healthy.   Kelly

Happy Mothers Day to all.  I am being lazy this morning.  Having coffee and havent showered.  Don't know what is on the agenda today.  Karen...good luck on your MRI tomorrow.  Karen, you asked about the river....Google the Snake River.  It is nearly in our backyard.  Nothing really exciting.  Sandy, nice to hear from you.  Hope your bloodwork was OK too.  Kelly, glad you had fun at the dinosaur play.  Kids are so entertaining.  Wyoming...sounds like you are done with school the same time I'm starting my surgeries.  I will try to get things caught up at work this week in preparation to be gone.  The following week will mostly be eaten up by Dr. Appts. and pre-ops.  You know the drill.  I don't think I will be getting a lot done.  Still have to get 2 units of my blood banked these next two weeks also.  Fun and games.  Hope everyone has a great day today!  HunkyD

All,  it is with a heavy heart that I write this note to let you know that Rover has passed.  We were on the same weekly chemo regime and wrote frequently prior to her recurrence.   One of the things she brought to this board and other survivors was a keen sense of humor.

I hadn't heard from her in a while and did some checking.  Following is her obit that I found on the net.

" After a courageous, year-long battle with breast cancer, Cheryl, 49, district ranger at North Cascades National Park, passed away on April 6th, surrounded by her loving family, cherished golden retrievers, and close friends.

A native of Alpena, Michigan, and a graduate of Northern Michigan University, Cheryl started her NPS career in 1989 at Grand Teton National Park. Cheryl worked more than one assignment at Grand Teton National Park, Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park, and North Cascades National Park.  Her career included positions as fee collection officer, communication center dispatcher, protection ranger, and both subdistrict and district ranger. Members of her various staffs will fondly remember the delicious breakfast ‘meetings' they attended.

Cheryl was admired for her creative talents with knitting and beading. Her creations were recognized at juried art shows. Her love of shoes was only challenged by limited closet space in NPS housing units.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cheryl's name to the Inland Empire Golden Retriever Rescue (http://www.iegrr.org/) or to the Breast Cancer 3 Day (Susan G Komen for the Cure at http://www.the3day.org/)."

Anyone interested in sending condolesenses can PM me for her sister's address
