Back From Doctor Regarding Rash

I just returned from my doctor.  He said that the "rash" does not look like breast cancer because it is not raised and it seems to be too spread-out.  But he said he did see an area that "could" need a biopsy just to be sure, so he sent me to a dermatologist.  Who again said it does not look like breast cancer.  He took picures and wanted to see me in a week to see if anything changed.  His concern is that I had breast cancer before and they removed my nodes, if he did a biopsy it would open me up to infection.  So next week if the rash looks the same he will give me an antibiotic before the biopsy, if it looks like it's less he will wait on the biopsy.  The doctor also took blood-work to check my markers.  Please keep me in your prayers. - Mary

    Hugs Mary and prayers for benign results......Let's pray this is only an infection and will clear up quickly...........

    mkay,

      I had a similar redness/rash in January and April.  It was my whole breast and down to my waist.  I had a lumpectomy and radiation in 06 --negative nodes.  Did you have a fever or any other symptoms My doctor diagnosed mine as cellulitis which is a dangerous infection.  He put me on two courses of strong antibiotics.  So far, it has not returned.  He also wants me to get a sonogram for assurance.  Hope you are okay.
