Hello to all,

My little brother who is only 41 years old died from lung cancer in my arms.  I went to the BC conference in Philly and from there went at my brother`s to be his full time caregiver.  Having him taking his last breath in my arms, was the most difficult thing I`v had to do in my life.  We were only six years apart, thus pretty close.  He had three kids 16 & 19 & 21 which they are having a really hard time with , since they lived with him full time as he had the legal gardianship.  I am trying to help them as much as I can.  His funeral will be on Saturday May 9th in Ste-Thérèse, Quebec at 10 rue de l`Église.

I will probably be returning to Alberta next week sometime.

Comfort hugs,

Danie

Danie, I am so sorry to hear of your loss......I know how it feels to lose someone to lung cancer...I lost a brother about 3 yrs ago to lung cancer and then this past March 23rd I lost a sister to emphysema.......I was at my sister's bedside when she passed (She waited til I could get to her).......I couldn't be with my brother before he passed as he was 400 miles away and I did not have reliable transportation at the time.......I am glad you were able to be with your brother and say your final farewell.......I hope he went peacefully as my sister did.....Did you see the angels when they came for him?.....I saw the ones who came for my sister.....They were absolutely gorgeous!.....So many beautiful colors of the rainbow.....My sincere condolences to you and your brothers children........

So sorry for this terribly painful loss.  It sounds like you and your brother had a very special relationship, and as hard as it was, the memory of being with him in his final moments will be a treasure for you in years to come.  Bless you and his kids during this time.

    Dear Danie,

You walked a path which few of us have yet to take, helping a beloved pass from this world to the next. It takes a compassionate heart to see your brother through such a journey. His love for you never died when he did, and this is something very special to be able to carry in your heart as you proceed with life.

My heartfelt condolences and strength to you as you mourn yet carry on....

    Tender

Danie...my sister died of aggressive destructive cancer on November 24, 2008.  She was 4 years older than me and we too were very close.  I miss her soooo dearly and I know your pain... (((((hugs))))))))) to you dear sister.  I spent alot of time with her and we never let her be alone the 4 months she battled.  I'm so glad she didn't know I had bc... I was diagnosed a month and a half after she passed.  I'll keep you in my prayers...   Janet
