I have been reading the board looking for someone with a bigger implant, but am having trouble finding anyone?  I am currently filled to 680cc with my final fill to go.  My ps talked about an    800cc implant, because I want to be a full D cup.  As I am reading I am noticing how many women are getting a Dcup with half of the cc's I have, and it doesnt make sense to me.  I have cleavage now and they are not under my armpits at all.  Actually I feel he has done a nice job already so it does give me faith in his work.  I am just wondering how the women out there with a bigger implant are liking it?  And yes, are cloths an issue?

I have 800cc mentor cohesive shaped implants.  My bra size is a 38 C. Although the front projection is not as good as my remaining breast.  The size is a good match.  In a bra, the cleavabe is a great match for my own breast.  I am not a tiny girl.  Thats why 800cc on me is a C cup.  If you put 800cc on a tiny petite girl, the cup size would be lots larger.  For example,  my daughter is a  tiny girl.  Size 3.  She wears a 32DD or DDD. Her own breasts, thank goodness.  If however, you were to compare our breasts (off of our bodies)  (sorry, I don't want to be gross).  Hers are really no larger than mine.  I don't think there is a direct correlation between cc's and cup size,  It depends on a lot of other sizes and measurements.  My PS totally decided what size I needed, and I feel he did a good job.  He filled the expander to 800cc, and replaced it with a 800cc implant.  He did order 4 different sizes though to take into to surgery to make the final decision.  He said, after putting in implant in, he sat me up on the OR table to see how the match looked in the vertical position, before finishing the surgery.  Hope this helps, it is all very confusing.

Yes, that does help. I am going to ask my ps if he plans on taking additional implants into surgery to get the best fit.......great info!!

I am not a tiny girl either, but not a large one as well, and thats why I am hoping I am making the right choice.  I am only 39yrs and had nice boobs ( ones I was proud of ) before all this happened.  I am just trying to get back to that same place ( if not a better one ) than before.  Hey, all us survivors deserve every last bit!

I have a 800cc style 20 by allergan and I am a D cup.  I have a round silicone implant and it is a great match in a bra to my natural breast.  prior to all of this I was a 38 DD but with some weight loss a 38 D works well.

Implants are wider than a natural breast and it is difficult to fill out the cup with projection. With my first implant I was still a D wide but only a B/C cup therefore it was impossible to match my normal breast with a bra so I had to stuff it. My first implant was a style 410 gummy and 740cc and a projection of 6.2.  The funny thing is that my new implant is only a 6.1 projection but because it is round it fills out the cup more.

Remember that expanders are very different than the implant for shape and projection. The key is good communication with your PS and let them now the projection you want to match with the implant and ask lots of questions.

It is all a bit confusing even with different implant giving different results. Have you talked about what implant you will get?

I know I am getting the silicone, and he mentioned the 800cc. but other than that I am not sure.  What kind of silicone implant should I be asking for, for better projection?

Hey there--so much of the size issue depends on your body frame, rib cage, ete.  I have 700 implants--mentor high profile silicone.  I'm 5-3ish and weigh 150 lbs.  I'm a full C cup or small D.  I would recommend high profile for projection.  If you're looking for a little droop & jiggle--over expanding helps--it also helps to eliminate the bocci ball look.  Good luck--Erin

OH WOW, you are the same exact size as me. So I want to ask him about the mentor high profile silicone, and does that give good projection???  I am not sure if he is over filling me, and I heard that if you dont over fill you have less chance of ripples.  Has anyone heard of that?  I do NOT want to look like a saucer, because that is what I look like now with the TE's.  I will say he has them positioned perfectly, so hopefully that plays a part in the final look.  I also have to wait 4 months, because of the skins "memory".  So I am looking at Sept. It is so final, I just want to make sure I do my homework and ask everything I am suppose to.  I know this is his work along with his name and he knows what hes doing, but it helps to get other WOMEN'S opinions.

Thank you for posting this discussion. I have questions related to the 800cc implants also.  I am 5'9'' 170 lbs and my PS is recommending the larger implants (800cc).  My tissue expanders are currently overfilled to 840cc's and my boobs look a little lumpy and they are definitely into the armpit area.  The PS states my body frame dictates the larger size and that he can keep the implants "pinned" into the middle of my chest and out of the armpit region.  I'm worried that these things will look like melons if I lose any weight.  I thought the expanders looked best at 720cc's but the PS told me that the implants don't replicate the look of the expanders and that I should go a little larger, thus 800cc.  He also told me that some patients wished they had gone larger while none of his patients felt they needed a reduction.  Any thoughts?

I'll add my voice here and confuse things even more! Laughing I'm 5'2" and 160 lbs. Before bc, I was a B cup on the left and an A cup on the right.  My left breast weighed 800 grams (a gross detail, I know) and it was replaced with a 800cc Mentor medium profile implant, which gives me a C.  On May 12, I'll get augmentation of the right breast to match the left.  PS says he'll take 400, 425, and 450 in the OR and choose the one that gives me the best match.  So I should end up with matching C cups, which is odd considering my height.  I do have very broad shoulders for my height, though.  Oh yes, I was overfilled to 1000cc.

I do know you can not judge your (our) expanders and think thats what it will look like with implants.  The picture forum here helped me out alot, in what to expect after implants are place.  You may want to check it out......very helpful, atleast for me.  I even put a couple of the pics on a floppy to show my ps what I was hoping to achieve, as far as size and projection.

I have had an 800cc high profile silicone for about 18 months. Overfill was to about 1200 cc, waited about three months for exchange. I had a lift and reduction on the other side and have a good match, though smaller than the originals and not the same projection. I'm very happy with both. I'm 5"11, about 200lb,and a 40D.

MinAZ, you must have a wonderful, natural droop!  I cant imagine being filled that much, because I am at 680cc right now and I would be fine with that, but for some reason I still have a little fluid left on my right breast, which was painless until this last fill of 100cc.  It hurts now, and I am wondering if there is anyway my ps can put a needle in there to try and take out some of that left over fluid.  I worry because I am afraid he will poke my expander, I dont know, but I do know I cant stand this for another 4 months until my exchange.  Has anyone else had this?  I would be fine otherwise, but this pain of the fluid reminds me of the beginning of my bi-mast. with reconstruction, I had a hard time getting rid of the fluid and that it was not a problem anymore until now.....crap!!

Hi there--I too had fluid--back it was mostly in my back.  Many times it will drain on its own...but if not the PS can aspirate it in the office.  I wore my expanders from September to May--it was not fun...but tolerable.  As for the natural droop & jiggle...my PS overexpanded by 100 cc....I am very happy with my outcome.  Erin

    Believe -

I'm not sure what you mean about the fluid. I had some real shoulder  and back pain as the expander got that big, and my PS sent me for physical therapy. I went several times, and also did the exercises at home. It got OK, so I was able to put up with it until the exchange. Why don't you ask about that?  Also, I guess I do have a nice droop; I'm lucky I had such a skilled - and nice - PS!

The last time I had my fill my PS noticed that there is still some fluid in my right breast, but it wasnt bothering me, so I didnt make anything of it.  Once I had that fill, then I could feel that same fluid pain I had in the very beginning.  I am so filled do you think it would be safe for him to try an aspirate me? I worry that it would be so much easier to puncture the expander.  Ya know, if it wasnt for that, I really wouldnt even know their there.

One more thing, if I am not over filled is that still ok?  Will I still look natural? I have read on here where some ps's dont over fill to avoid rippling.....heard of that anyone?

    Thanks for your comments.

Could someone direct me to the picture forum? I would really like to see results that are real, not just what I have found on the internet. I want to have realistic expectations about what my implant reconstruction will look like when I am done.

    Thanks so much.

I have been told by my PS that I will be over 900 cc when done with the fills. I won't be able to get the silicone due to size since they silicone only goes to 800 cc. He said he will have to use saline and pump them up to fit. Anyone have the expanders filled this high?

I personally have never heard of anything over 800cc because like you said, they dont come any bigger.  I would like to ask you why not just go with the 800cc silicone, for the fact is its only a difference of 100cc and thats not huge by any stretch.  I just want yu to be happy with your outcome, and I do know that silicone looks and feels alot more natural than saline, and being that it is only the difference of 100cc it might be worth thinking about.  I would just hate for you or anyone for that matter to end up with something on the hard side.

    Believe,

I will not be going with the 800cc because my PS suggested I go larger to look more proportioned. Thanks for your concern.

yes - 800cc. Last fill and swap out finally set for October 27. My right expander failed in August so I had an emergency surgery that put me behind. My double mastectomy was in February. I cannot wait. This last month has been hell. Everything hurts or is extremely uncomfortable. I feel like I'm lugging cement filled balloons. And just getting really depressed. I have no energy and barely leave the house. Is this normal?

This surgery is as a result of a second primary tumor diagnosis last November. Just shy of five years.
