Have your doctor order a MRI.  My pet scan and bone scan said i was clean but the MRI found it.

I had multiple lung tumors that were first seen on a CAT scan.  My doctor ordered a PET scan and the tumors all "lit up" like a Christmas tree.  Ones that were only 4mm showed up on the PET because they glowed so brightly.  The pet was very detailed and showed the "spikes" on some of the tumors.

For followup I have only been having CAT scans as the PET scans are very espensive.  I am stable.

I'm just going through the lung issues, with shortness of breath, even when I talk. Today I went for a chest xray, which showed clear.  Something is going on, I just can breathe well.  I'm four weks out from chemo, left breast ca, with lymph nodes (3) breached.  So, i'm naturally scared...anyone have anything like this similar??

Dont know if this will help ease the mind Misty , but after my AC I had horrid breathing difficulty for almost 8 months. Ended up with a barrage of tests, and the only conclusion was thought to be a further reaction to the AC(lol, I had so many I stopped counting)All scans were clear and knock on wood that was almost 5 years ago. I guess what im saying is dont panic, there could be many other reasons for the breathing problems. Even if you were esp sick, ie vomiting alot you could have damaged muscles that take quite a long time to heal. It isnt something to ignore but it isnt always C either :) Good luck

I was disappointed with both MRI and PET scans that I had before having bilateral masts.  Neither test showed the true size of the tumor, which after surgery, turned out to be 6 cm x 5 cm. The doctors thought this looked like scar tissue but in reality it hosted some pretty mean cancer cells.  Please do NOT rely on these tests.  We need better testing if this is the best we have right now.
