    EveryMinute, I bet mine is that long, but it's curling and waving and doesn't apprear as much! Go Girl!

    straighten and seperate~ mine doesnt look like that if it dries naturally.

    everyminute,,,,,,,,,,,,,cuuuuuuuuuuute hair.  You gals with your pics here of you with short hair,,,,,,,,,,,is sooooooo adorable.  When my hair was growing, I couldnt do that with mine.  Mine is very fine and thin.

    I found a new product line by Daisy Fuentes with of phosphates or parabens.  I use a heat protectant/straightening spray and then after I add some styling wax and mess it up a little (otherwise it looks like a really long militiary crew cut) and a bit of hair spray.

    Should note that I have a pug (dont want to insult any pug owners) and I love her to pieces - I just dont want to look like her!

    I love it EveryMinute... so just 5 months huh!?!  I'M JEALOUS!  But ladies, I think mine is starting to grow. The hair around my ears is getting long and covers the tip of my ears, but there's this darn bald spot near the front that really is starting to worry me, it's shiny blad, no fuzz, nothing......;-( !

    I looked on my B-100 vitamin bottle and there is biotin in it but a very small amount... like 33mg..?

    Jancie:  I've been taking 10,000 micrograms (equal to 10 milligrams) of Biotin daily for several months.  I believe it is only sold in micrograms (mcg).  It is considered a B vitamin, and is quite safe to use.  Not sure it helped my hair  growth very much, but I did develop very strong nails!

    Yes, I think Vit B is water soluable, like Vit C, so any extra you just "pee" out. I am taking 1000 Biotin at night with my Tamoxifen. Two little white pills!!!

    Everytime,Nice hair,it gives me hope.Thanks.Mine is growing now but the right side is growing faster than the left and back.Eyebrows are also coming back in.It's a good thing!!!

    My husband told me my hair is "lopsided" 5 months after finishing chemo and still doing herceptin.  It's about 3/4" long, thick and curly.  I told him I was thankful to HAVE hair!  All the people I work with tell me it looks great and that I should put gel in it and finger wave it, like a 1920's style - how the heck do you do that?

    Springtime, what is Biotin? Does that help with hair growth?  I am on Tamoxifen as well, and am not sure what I can and cant take?

    Biotin is a B vitamin that is supposed to help with hair and nails. I think it is safe to take with Tamoxifen, but best to check with your Doctor. Actually, I have a long list of vitamins and suplements I'm taking, that I'm bringing in to my appt in July to make sure nothing "interferes" with the TAmoxifen. I asked her before I started it, and she only mentioned a certain class of anti-depressants. (sp?)

    I finished my first and last chemo 3 weeks ago yesterday and my hair is still falling out, so when can I expect it to start growing back, so I dont have to wear this wig anymore??  I did shave it a wk ago, because it was long and I had no choice. I mean it was making me sick watching it fall out, but even with these little whiskers on my head, they are still coming out???

    Believe, I had a lot more chemo than you, and it ended Nov 10. I ditched my wig early march, so 4 months. I have no idea if that will be the same for you though, given you had only one chemo.

    I ditched the wig after about 3 months - a bit early but I couldnt take it anymore!  Felt strange to be "done" and still wearing the wig. Am 5 months out now and have a real (short) hairstyle

    Here is my most recent hair pics. I am 7 months out of chemo, my hair is at least 3" long but it is hard to tell as it is soooooo curly. I can not straighten it, as it is so curly, so I have to use a gel. I can't do anything with it. I am sorry to say, "I hate it!" The only thing good about it, is ITS HAIR, and better than being bald! I am also attaching the link of all my hair pictures for those that want to look. I have posted it before and its too big to post as a picture.

    Hi Ladies,

    My first chemo will be Monday.  I am scared because I have so many allergic reactions to medication.  Nearly died a couple of times.  My onc knows this and I'm just going to have to trust him because if I don't do this then everything else will have been for nothing. 

    As soon as I got my diagnosis I cut my usually colored hair really short.  I love it!  It's the most beautiful salt and pepper.  My sister's friend thought I had frosted it.  Now that I am going to lose it I just want to buzz it then shave it.  My sister is begging me not to because she has this belief that because it is so thick that I won't lose it.  The truth is, I've read that it hurts when it begins to fall out and I'm not a glutton for pain.  If I can prevent that then I want to.  I would appreciate any advice or suggestions.  Thanks.

    Thank you, HelenNC.  I was raised in the mountains of NC near Asheville.  I lived there until I was was 49 so I say I'm from NC.  I am still in the Blue Ridge Mts. in VA.  I spent my 17th Summer with my mum in Wilmington.  I love the coast too.

    Nancy, You'll do fine on Monday. We're all here for you...your private cheering section! As far as the hair falling out....To me it didn't hurt but my scalp felt like I'd had a tight ponytail in for too long, that's all. I used satin pillowcases when I slept to avoid "mussing" my fuzz because that's about the only time I felt that sensation. You'll be ok and all of this will be a distant memory very soon.

    oh.. speaking of hair...I made mine a lovely blonde on friday...and today added just the tiniest hint of pink to the top spikey part. I know I know..stranger things have happened!!

    Nancy, mine didn't hurt at all when it fell out.  Not physically, anyway.  I think it is traumatic for every woman, though. 

    Lori, your hair is so cute!  I'm 3 1/2 months out of chemo and I have enough hair to leave the house without a cover, but I just started Femara and I'm afraid it will stop growing now.  I started taking Biotin so I hope that helps.  Everybody tells me how fast it is growing, but it doesn't seem it to me.  I did put mousse in it one day and it looked ok, but my hair is so soft, I didn't like the prickly feeling.  I'm always rubbing it now.

    Hi Caligrl, You're new hair color sounds fun.  I did buy a pink wig and a light blue wig; I can't wait until I have enough hair to put some color onto it!

    This last week I developed a five-o'clock shadow where my eyebrows used to be and they are really coming in now!  It's happening fast.  Looking soooo forward to eyelashes as well!

    Lori, love the curls!

    I've heard conflicting reports about the post chemo curls. Some say it's "just a phase" and they grow out and stop curling, and you go back to your "regular" hair. 

    Others say the curls came and never went!!!

    I will do a new pic soon, I will be 6 months out on the 10th!
