    I'm still trying to catch up, been out of town for a couple of days, but had to chime in with my cheers for another of us getting DONE, DONE, DONE!

    Got loads of info to share re: rads and ooph. The trip was all about Docs, haha! Back when I can. We gave Auntie A the day off since she stayed with Little Monkey while we were gone. It WOULD fall on a "skip nap day." haha!

    Just got my appointment for my Rads Simulation - next Thursday. They should be able to start me on June 8th.

    Webbie - interested to hear what you found out!

    Dang Webbie we were hoping you were out having some fun :)  Got any hair pictures ??  Yup I am a pain in the @$$ I want to see some hair growth.  I'll post my white scruff

    Congrats Kerry!!! So happy for you.

    Now for a whine... I'm going to be getting Avastin till next Feb.  I met with my onc yesterday and he really thought I should stick it out like the herceptin gals do. However, he is willing to give me a 6 week break in the fall so that I can have my other mastectomy and expanders placed. 

    Warning~ more whining: I barfed twice yesterday before getting any chemo at all???!!! WTF? They hooked up my pory and... ick.  The nurse then gave my 2 mg of Ativan IV (I usually get 1/2 mg!!!) so I was totally stoned. But, I did stop puking so I guess I should thank her. Embarassed

    Congrats to everyone getting DONE!!!

    Sorry about the barfing.  You poor thing I hate the thought of throwing up.  Is your hair growing back on Avastin ??  Yeah I am all about hair today and I am not sure why.......

    Oh, I am too. My husband thinks there might even have been some white fluff growing through the Taxatore....not sure myself. Guess we will see if it starts getting longer....

     Michelle - puking, eww. poor thing. Your tummy really doesnot like this Chemo crap. Don't worry, you'll be stuck with me for a while too!

    Okay here is my pathetic picture.  I swear if I could get DH to take it I have a lot more hair than what shows,  Oh well I will just keep up my pathetic attempts.   I look like I am mad as hell and I'm not.  Can you see the crazy horns on top of my head.  Stinky picture.  Took the picture down I need someone to take it.

    Kerry!! Yeah !!!!!!!! Congrats on finishing , you have been a real tropper!  Love your shirt, love the cake, LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU ARE DONE WITH CHEMO FOREVER!  Good luck with the rads sim, it's no big deal, just be ready to keep your arms overhead for about an hour. 

    So far I have no real SE's from the rads, just completed #10 today, 15 more to go. I'm a little pink and especially my underarm area toward my back, they zap the lymph nodes from the back.. .somehow I can't figure out how the heck that works.

    Well went for my labs yesterday!  If my hemoglobin is still low tomorrow i will have to go in for a blood transfusion.  Plus white count is low and had to start antibiotics.

    Feelin a bit tilty this morning myself! (ha, just reread that - i originally wrote titty instead, NOT!!) Hovering on the edge of the chemo hole - had some pain last night, and zonked out on Tylenol 3's but not too sore yet this morning. Just a bit wobbly.

    Gotta go to an outpatient clinic and get my neupogen shot, and they will show my husband how to give them to me for the next week - has anyone else self-injected...?

    Kristine - if you are reading good luck on your Walk for the Cure today - and anyone else participating! 

    Diane - good luck with your counts too - drugs can do amazing things to restore your body!

    KerryMac, yes, I always gave myself my neupogen.  I listened to all they told me to try to do get keep it from stinging so much.  Put it out at room temp and let it warm up and inject it slow.  So, I felt if warmer the better...and held on to it for a few minutes before injecting it to get it closer to body temp.  It stings, but I was too impatient to do it slow and just pushed the plunger and got it over with faster.  The way they have it set up it is easy and you can't do anything "wrong" and hurt yourself. 

    Then got admitted to the hospital, and got subQ heparin twice a day every day.  Not THAT stung way more then neupogen.  So, after that had to laugh at all the work to keep one shot every 3 weeks from stinging and didn't worry about all the warming, slow business.

    Oh, I had the heparin in the hospital too - that stung like anything, and i still have bruises two weeks later. Glad your self injecting went OK - I am telling my husband he will just have to stick me really fast. He says he is used to that!! haha.

    Kerrymac - thanks for your picture.  you look surprisingly like one of our local 'newscasters' .  He is from Britain and has this pale orange hair and eyebrows that dissappear on camera.. but just an amazing smile.

    Kerry:  congrats on finishing chemo!  That's great!  I never gave myself shots, since I wasn't comfortable doing them, so DH did my shots to my tummy (blood thinners).  I was really nervous the first time he did it, but he did fine.  I hate needles, and never could have given one to myself, I'm such a big chicken!  Love the new avitar (?) pic!

    Michele:  oh no, you've been doing better, and now the nausea again...maybe it was a fluke, and next week will be good again!  I forget, are you in a trial for the Avastin? 

    Suzanne: one more to go, good for you!!!  I can't wait to be able to say the same :)  Your new pic is awesome, too; I wish I was as brave as all of you to just go around showing off my baldness, but just can't seem to do it.

    Jancie:  I keep telling myself to quit pushing so hard on my good days, because the crash days are awful!  But it is hard to not take advantage of feeling all that energy, isn't it?  Well, like you said, at least something gets done before we crash again.

    I had to go in to the local center yesterday, I thought maybe I was getting thrush, my onc said it is uncommon (???) and thought maybe I was getting strep throat since my throat was sore.  So I went in, they are not convinced I have thrush, but gave me the lozenges to suck on for a week.  I did not have strep according to the strep test they did, and they also took swabs from my nose and more bloodwork.  Geez, all this because of a white tongue and sore throat.  I just wanted the lozenges for my poor tongue.

    i've had thrush 2X - a prescribed rinse (if you want to call goop, rinse) cleared it up immediately.

    Apple - so funny I look like your MALE newscaster! I think I look like my dad. so funny.

    Just got back from the clinic where they taught my husband to give me my shot. He did really well, I didn't even feel it. He is braver than me!

    I get a white tounge every time on the Taxatore, and a bit of a sore throat. Thought it was normal. i have a mouth wash, which seems to work well. 

    Just headed off to bed and a DVD. Feling very tired. The grandparents are here, and are wrestling with the kids, good sports that they are. I started watching "Australia" last night - it was quite terrible! But I will watch the end of it. my husband has rented me a truck full of girlie movies - some consolation there!

    Australia turned out to be a pretty good movie and i VERY rarely watch them.. (they're just an excuse for a nap before bed).  my husband watches them so i won't play the piano.  aaargh.

    anyway, the beginning was indeed awful.  pretty dramatic, but hay.

    Congrats on finishing chemo Kerry.  Just wondering if gene testing/BRCA or other was a factor in your decision to have an ooph.  I am waiting for a referral still & trying to make a decision.  It is confusing.  Should you get an ooph, hyst or none.  Just wondering if you can share anything as to how you made your decision.  The cake looks delicious!

    Kerry, I gave myself the neulesta shots. They aren't bad. It doesn't go into the muscle, just subQ so the needle isn't so long. Tell your husband it doesn't go where he usually pokes you! Smile

    I had my husband help me yesterday in my garden to plant some petunias. It was too much work for me to plant myself. I was weeding today. That was a little easier because I could do it sitting down in one place.

    Somebody slap me and remind me that I only have one more.  I got behind nausea today in addition with taxotere pain and I just want to sit and cry.  Well that is what I am doing until my babies come home.  I'm not getting the major withdrawl from steriods but my whole abdomin hurts on the back.

    Well its been a very long time since I have posted....but I have read yours most every day. I have had an awful time as well with my chemo.....shingles, thrush,dehydration, pain, nausea,diarreaha, constipation, hemmoroids, neuropathy, nail pain, very tired...........but only one more to go!!!!  and then another surgery, for my exchange, and then I pray it will be physically over.  I am so proud of all of you for being able to continue to post and I have taken all of your suggestions and encourgements to heart. This place has been my source of hope many a day. Thank you all!

    Grace, it's so good to hear from you again....I'm so sorry you have been having a rough time, but am glad you are still reading the posts, that is so helpful for you even if you aren't up to posting.  So you have finished AC and have one Taxol(?) left?  We started chemo at the same time, and if I had done the DD Taxol, I would almost be done, too.  Hang in there, come and post when you are up to it and let us know how you are doing.
