spar, i have lived most of my life in California.
-
Wow, I didn't know that Celia, I would love to visit Washington state, I hear it has beautiful coast and forest areas and mountains. I lived in Los Angeles for a year but only did things like disneyland, the beaches, knotts berry farms. didn't really visit surrounding areas. Back later.
-
Hello old mountain. Sometimes I wonder how long you have been here with all your treasures. Today here it is still dark and rainy. Last night it stormed most of the night with lightening and thunder so loud the earth shook.
Tomorrow, I am looking for this:
-
Sahalie girl, where are you today? Working too hard as usual? Come play when you can.
Sierra, hope you have a wonderful day full of joy
Deb would love to see more of your pictures and the things you like.
Celia, would love to hear more about your California years and what your life is like now in Washington.
-
Sahalie, you know how we like retro fashion, here are a few I found today.
-
I do so love all flowers
-
I love shadow pictures also
-
goodnight mountain, my grandson just called and said he wasn't coming this weekend because he wanted to help his dad build a fence so I guess I will have a kid free weekend to play on the computer, knit, and make necklaces and plant some flowers and herbs. Hope all has a goodnight with sweet dreams..
I have dream catchers in the guest room and in my car. I love them. My son has them all over his house. No guest is allowed a bad dream in my home. so glad to have gotten to spend time with my son and my mom.
goodnight moon

Good morning sisters! Its a glorious Friday morning here. I'm just getting ready to go to the gym. It's finally starting to pay off as I weighed this morning and I actually lost weight! Woohoo! I've also started back to food journaling. That's the main thing that seems to help me. Watching what I eat randomly through the day. It's amazing how the little things add to the calorie count.
I am finally up to being able to walk 2 miles in one session. I was walking 2 miles a day 3 days a week before I was diagnosed but the chemo, rads and steroids seemed to deplete my muscle tone. They also have some pretty cool reclining bikes you can ride with a screen that simulates a riding scenario. I love those. Yesterday I chose the path through the red wood forest. All those young smarty pants computer generated cyclists kept passing me but I stayed with it to the finish line. So, even though I haven't gotten a bike of my own to ride, this is the next best thing.
I hope everyone is being careful with this flu thing spreading. Well, I'm off and out the door again. I'm enjoying being outside while I can before it gets too hot. Just par for the course in the south.
Hugs and have a fantabulous day!
-
Goodmorning Jazzygirl. It is still a dark, rainy day here as it has been all week. Wow, I am proud of you, wish I could get psyched up to lose weight but for me it is a mental thing and just can't quite seem to get there. Those little things do add up for sure, that is my main problem. Those bikes make it sound like that would be fun if you get to ride through different sceneries. How cool is that. I dread the hot humid summers of the south, where sweat breaks just walking out the door. Have a fun good happy day.
Sierra, Deb, and Sahalie hope you all have great weekends filled with joy.

Well, mountain friends, I did it, went to Atwood and got more ducks, we will raise them in the house for 4 weeks then move them to a much improved house/pen with roof and floor until they can wonder the yard with me and be released into the pond. I am thinking of getting a pair of swans for the pond also. It is a huge pond with lots of fish and beautiful. Love it down there all set up with table and chairs and wood piled up for a fire if needed. Our little boat upside down on the edge waiting for us to turn it over and do the first rowing of the season. I love just floating in the little row boat, the current will move you from one side to the next.
Hope everyone is having a great day. Mine has been great. Ate pizza and salad buffet in Norman, got jelly beans and ducks at atwoods. Bought old jewelry at goodwill to take apart and make new. Very good busy day. Tomorrow will be brickfest, not even sure what all that entails but sure it will be fun.
the weather is wonderful today, the sun is finally shining and the temps are perfect. I may even get to energy to go workout in my workout room today.

HELLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO & Happy FRIDAY !
Mana O' Mana. Happy news * I missed you all the last few days but we have decided
in our little happy family to build a new "old" farm house on the farm so me being the "bank"
for this project * I have big time say in the plans and what I really want it to be creative wise.
So this week I've been with the architect * signing papers * making decisions * beginning to
pick out the basics.
This project is to be simple and "green" SO * this clutter free abode will be so much fun to
watch come to be a reality.
More later *
It'll take me two days at least to read everywhere and catch up.
Thanks for the "valentine's"
It's raining here today and I love it. Everything is flowered out to the max and smiling while
getting the big drink of water.
I went out this morning before doing anything and snipped all the many different colored roses
on all my rose bushes so the rain wouldn't ruin them.
In front of me is my glass thingy with yellow roses. Deep red roses. Orange roses with
yellow around the edges.
One of my dh's nurses gave us that one.
I also have one that is red and white stripes. I bought that one a few years ago cuz it reminded
me of a candy cane.
It grows in clumps of roses while the others have the regular stems.
And do they ever smell delightful.
I love the flowers above Spar that you posted.
I caught a glimpse of the retro clothes. Too funny and fun.
I hope everyone is fine on the mountain and Oh * HAPPY MAY FIRST MOUNTAINEERS.
Love and good vibes and flowers.
Sahalie

Spar, I just learned that your ducklings were killed. I am so sorry. Good luck with the next brood.
Sahalie, It sounds like a very interesting venture! Green, huh? Go for it!
-
Sahalie you "old farm house" sounds so good and going green. Love it.
Your roses in the vase sound so beautiful and I bet them smell so good.
Good vibes, love, and hugs to you also
Biker, I am always thrilled when you drop by. Yes, I was heartbroken for a while but we have got some more today and my DH made a very safe pen with a house, surrounded with chicken wire and a wooden bottom so I don't think there is anyway the dog can get in. We keep them in the house until they get big enough. They already are showing their own personality. One is name tuftfy because of a big tuft of hair on top of him head like a mohawk, the yellow one is taffy because he is all yellow even his feet, the pearly gray mixed with yellow is pearl because she looks pearly. Tufty wants to protect the other two, I have a feeling it is a male and the other 2 are female. I was going to get a rabbit to raise with them but they didn't have any left.
Biker, hope you can drop by the mountain more often, miss you much. big hugs.

The Summit Fox on Mt. Washington. Isn't he a beauty?

Caught during the ice storm in December.

Moose Family.

-
Spar, I'm glad you have a safer enclosure for them. That dog of yours needs more than a firm talking to! Didn't he kill your other duck?
Deborye, what gorgeous photos of those foxes! We have two living behind our house and we see them once in a while.
-
Hello Mountaineers. JANNY ! Hello and a big huge gentle hug !
DEBORYE. Your mountain pictures are beautiful. Is that location a favorite of yours?
Some Ducky Ideas.
SPAR. I am so happy you are trying with the ducks again.
Take it from one who has been thru the same.
Once a dog tastes blood they will continue to do it over and over again.
When you and dh build your pen for the safety of the little quackers use
huge rocks like semi heavy boulders all around the perimeter of the pen.
When you guys are home the ducks can roam outside the pen which they
will love while feasting on all the tantilizing bugs they find.
Keep doggy far away from them.
He knows now what he can get away with and will try it again.
The ducks will bring you such joy as others have said too.
They are so funny and entertaining.
We keep the ducklings inside as told.
Big rubbermaid container with a light in one corner.
We clean it daily sometimes several. They love to step in their water.
The pecking order is what gets me. I don't like to watch that.
This is when they get older. Anywho.
The link Sierra gave you is excellent and also your local farm supply
store can give you all the details.
Our pen is also covered with wire over the top. Hawks, Owls,
you name it will try to swoop down and get those little babies.
They need all the help we can give them even when they are full grown.
We buy kid pools for extra fun for them to splash in.
We change that water daily too as they are not selective where
they you know what.
We use dog crates and build duck houses for them.
They like small dark places to lay their eggs and go into for safety.
We use water instant fill water towers for them so they always have fresh water.
Just some food for thought.
HAPPY DUCKLINGS LOVE THE MOUNTAINS.
Edited to bring my post back to normal size. : )

Wow. Sorry the page is so huge. Did I do that?

Hi Sierra, glad you had a good day at Wards Island. Moose and deer can be really scary on the roads, my mom and I totaled her car out on a deer and killed the poor deer. In the middle of Virginia, a highway patrol gave us a ride to the next town and had our car towed for us.
Deb, love the foxes, they are such beautiful creatures. Sometimes in town I see a red fox and am always shocked but I guess with all the construction the world is taking away their homes.
Sahalie, we actually have a wooden floor in the duck pen now which in a way may make it easier because while they are out playing we can hose it out and they do have their own little A-frame house that is plenty big that DH built. right now they are like you showed above in a rubber container with a light, food in a feeder, and a bowl with rocks in it so they don't get soaked if they fall in the water. I love watching them, so far no pecking order except for the one with a tuft head protecting the other 2. love watching them, they are so precious. Messy until they get bigger but worth every bit of cleaning up they take. The dog's name is Chico and he doesn't mess with them when we are around, he gets a swat with a newspaper which makes more noise than hurts him but would never ever trust him without us right there.
Biker, do you live in the country also? Are your foxes the red ones?
Everyone have a great night, can't believe it is already 6pm.
