well,im here lurking away!! but i am so totally exhausted, sleeping alot, unsteady on my feet, struggling to eat, lacking energy, i suppose all the usual chemo side effects that i have worked hard in the past at pushing away to keep up my normal existnce.  Back to see onc tomorrow, a new one as my onc on paternity leave, so am apprehensive about my bloods, hoping for a slight improvement so tx can go ahead, although am looking more and more like marge simpson each day! the steroids im on have eased the discomfort of my liver although still enlarged, its feeling better. so not doing too badly up to now, tomorrow will tell, so fingers crossed for me for a glimmer of hope

love and hugs

Sue, hang in sister. The exhaustion /fatigue is hard on the emotional state too.

Prayers that your wish is granted and you can continue. xo

So glad to hear from you....As Janis said, such exhaustion is emotional too, so go with the flow for now. I can well relate to your anxiety about seeing a  new team member-but I'm sure all will go well with him/her. And hey, as I've been telling myself today....maybe a new input will be helpful, and give some new ideas.....Love as always, xxxx

Thank you, thank you, Not much to report on the blood front, some lfts higher some lower, too soon to see a difference, but tolerating tx well enough so thats a good enough sign for me. Still just chilling, relaxing and sleeping, finding that a bit tough, but Im sure I'll manage! Onc was a bit of a scatty irish woman who has said, we'll take it a week at a time, could be looking at maybe 6 weeks before we know more, thats a few more than i expected.

Had my first 'timeframe' conversation with my niece last night, shes more like a sister than my brothers daughter, so it was tough but so is she.  have contacted my sister who actually lives in the next road to me, twice to tell her i'm not very well, with no reply, typical of her really.

    love and hugs

Morning Sue...logged in specially to see if you'd been able to update. Glad you're managing to relax. Sounds as if the scatty Irish doc was helpful in a strange way! Don't worry about your sister-you've done all you can to update her, and if she chooses to stand back then the problem is her's. Look after yourself-how are the birthday plans coming along? Love as always,xx

Sue, it sounds like the news is vaguely positive, in that the onc suggested you will still be around in six weeks.  It's strange how we look for optimism in offhand remarks, without actually coming right out and asking.

But it's good to see that you are still well enough to check in.

Okay, if we look at vaguely optimistice.... I was just selected for a FOUR Year bone density study.... not bad for someone originally diagnosed as 6-9 months.... this is 3 yrs plus later ..... I see a raspberry in my future.... but would have to go back to original onco to give it to him... not worth the bus tokens or time.

Sue.... you have to accept that you are frail and breakable.  Treat yourself kindly.  If a light breakfast is all that you can manage... then manage that.  Dont look at the overall, just today.  Make today a nice day and start again tomorrow.  Before you know it.... you are finished chemo.  Put your trust in only yourself and those that support you - even if she is a scatty Irish woman.  The sister that is so close but so far away.... not your problem.  She is not supporting you, so she does not exist right now.... only those who lovingly help you get through today.  Hope that helps.

That's the way.... now who is in the kitchen making things for you.... time the family catered to you... and if they cant do it - they can go get what you need - prepared foods, soups.... etc.  I mean how hard is it to take care of you after all the years of taking care of them?
