I am so thrilled...I've watched both of them grow so much over the last 9 months...I'm so proud of my son I could burst and his lady is a sweetie-pie.  I was invited to be in the delivery room by mum AND dad and I got to cut the cord.  I'm still flying...

OK, call the Gerber company---we've found the NEW baby for their pics!  Congrats!

As the mother of an almost 40 year old daughter and 37 year old son, neither of whom is in a serious relationship, I am most jealous!  Just think, you will be young enough to ride all the rides at the carnival, hike up the highest hills, and be the one she tells her secrets to!  Blessings!

Congrats Sige...enjoy that lovely little one, being  Grandma is just magic !

I just heard last week my 18 year old niece is pregnant....for the SECOND time....no-body liked to tell me the first time because she was only 15 !!!

My brother has hit the roof, and ended up giving her a slap on her face when she eventually came out and told everyone...OMG they are not talking now..... bl**dy families...my brother forgets he had a girl pregnant when he was 20, and they had an abortion, so he has no room at all to read the riot act !!!!

It all comes out in the wash !!!!!!!!!!!!

    Isabella.

Sige. It's so good to see your glorious news.

....... and so the whole world begins anew, in the promise of this child's safe arrival...............

"A baby is God's opinion that life should go on."  -- Carl Sandburg

"When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies."  -- J. M. Barrie

"Life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth."  -- Kahil Gibran

"Babies are a link between angels and man."  -- unknown

and perhaps most appropriate of all for us grannies at BCO:

"Life affords no greater responsibilitiy, no greater privilege, than the raising of the next generation." -- C. Everett Koop

Capture the euphoria..... you'll need some on hand for when she wants to pick out prom dresses.

I know I am very late arriving at this particular party, but I heard the same news 3 and a half years ago, and I know my mother's generation felt it was a horrible mistake, a shame, something to hide and in some cases pretend never happened.  But being a grandma without this those old fashioned morals.... is wonderful.  I got to watch my grandson from minutes after birth to almost daily contact (we helped her get an apt in same building).  We did not consider watching our grandson as "babysitting".  Funny though when the girls were little my husband considered taking care of them on his own as babysitting.... until I told him no - its Fatherhood.  We have had to bail them out, support my daughter when the father was unfaithful and left.  Support our daughter through custody battles.  There are so many things we never thought we would do but the ability to be with our grandson is worth everything.

I am still shellshocked.  I got to be the one to drive the little family home from the hospital today...I am so lucky!
