I think 'hen and chicks' is a plant.
-
oic, Jaz. mmmm..never heard of it...what do they look like?
-

This is a hen and chick

-
Hens and chickens are like little artichokes and they grow close to the ground in almost any conditions. They are really cute and hardy.
-
-
They are in the succulent family of plants and when they start 'reproducing' the new plants look like chicks huddled around the hen. they are easy to grow but I have killed some. I have a black thumb.

goodmorning everyone, I went over to the other house in the mist this morning, a pleasant little walk and fed all the animals and started back to my house and got caught in a storm, It poured rain so hard I couldn't see and the wind about blew me of my feet. I came barging in the door and my DH said I can't believe you went to feed the animals in this. Told him it wasn't like this when I started, he got a big smile seeing me drenched. So just got in a hot shower that felt so good. So had a cold shower and then a hot one. Animals are happy and I am happy.
Sahalie, I am making you a necklace today which will be green for the earth and blue for the water. Will post it when I am finished.
It is so dark here it is like night time. But a good day for crafts, reading, or watching movies.
JO, did you taste of a hen and chick? LOL Hope you have a wonderful relaxing time on your vacation. We are sending lots of hugs with you.((((((((((((((((((((((JO))))))))))))))))))))))
Jazzy girl, will be glad when you check in later and tell us some of the fun you have been having.
lvtwoqlt, cracked up about your black thumb. I know people have given me plants before and said you can't kill these and sure enough they would die on me, my DH is very good with plants, he can grow anything.
Candie, got your package in the mail, let me know when it arrives safely. Will be happy for you when your hand is all well.
You guys have a great day. hugs. sherry

Sherry, my grandmother could put an old stick in the ground and a tree would grow. She always said that when you are given plants, don't thank the person for the plant but thank them for the pot/dirt/box something other than the plant. If you thank them for the plant, it will die. I have been lucky, When I had my surgery I was given 3 dish gardens and I have kept 75% of the plants alive for almost 2 yrs, and my mil gave me another dish garden last year and it is thriving.
If I buy something to plant in the yard, it will die, if I transplant something from one area of the yard to another, if it grows I am fine with that, if it dies, I don't have any money involved so it doesn't bother me. My niece gave me some daffodil bulbs to plant in my yard several weeks ago and I haven't gotten them planted yet. I am waiting for my azelas to finish blooming before I trim them back. My son said he would help me with the trimming. The church has several different colored azelas that have sprouted new bushes and my mother and I are going to dig up the babies and try growing them at our houses.

I am good with plants. I grow mostly flowers in the summer ans I do most of them from seeds. I am always amazed at how they grow so beautiful from seeds. I love sunflowers and for those I just take the seeds from my parrot's seed dish (lol) and wham....gorgeous 6 ft sunflowers.
gotta go..at work...bbl
-
Candie, I have grown sunflowers under my outside bird feeders without planting any seeds!!!
Sheila
-
Ivtwoqlt ; it makes me laugh to think what lovely gardens you and I would have. My husband loves gardening and ours are beautiful, no thanks to me. Every year my husband goes away fishing for a week and he goes into panic mode! I try, really I do but every year we loose some of his precious plants. I don't know what I do, or don't do but there you have it. I tooooo am a black thumb and I can admit it. Ha! Ha!
-
Hi Gibby, that is so funny, my husband doesn't like to leave his plants flowers and garden either. Some men just have the nack.
JO thistles LOL gotta remember to wear shoes when you fill up your bird feeder.
Candie, I too love sunflowers and usually have some, sure wish I had some that we could actually roast the seeds and eat them.
Sahalie dear, here is a picture of your neclace. My angel says hope, Jaz's says love and your angel says faith.
I don't know what is going on photobucket is not letting me post will try again in a few minutes.

-
Hey candie...just a couple of days and no more stitches! How's it feeling...looks like you're typing better

My squirrels always eat my sunflowers! eek! They're so pretty and then, bam! They're gone...
Spar...another beautiful necklace! Love to get together with the friends, too! Every tuesday? How neat...
Jo...I have tons of cone flowers in my backyard and when they start to wane the finches come in and eat the thistle. Amazing how they can land on that plant without even bending it...
To all my fellow crafters...have a blessed rest of the day :-)
-
Hi crafters!
Can I ask you a favor? I've entered a contest to be the LA Dodgers honorary bat girl for the game on Mother's Day. They want to bring awareness to breast cancer and honor a survivor.
So...I wrote and essay and I need votes. I'm currently in 4th place. I can't link to the contest here but I can link to my caring bridge and you can click on that. If you're inclined, please vote for me "TRUE BLUE Lisa". There is also a TRUE BLUE cancer girl.....that is NOT me.

BTW Spar, I will be working on that collage this summer
You know I will send you a pic too! -
Jo that is what happened to my computer when I went on Photobucket last week, so my boss has banned that site. Fortunately the trendoffice virus scan caught it and cleaned it up when I rebooted.
Please overlook any typos, my therapist decided yesterday that the LE was not clearing up with just the glove so my left hand and forearm are wrapped in 2 bandages until Friday. It looks like I have a cast on my arm adn am unable to put my hand in the right position for hand quilting
or hand sewing and my grandmother's wall hanging isn't finished yet! All I have left to do on it is embellish it with the antique buttons. I will see what happens after I go back Friday afternoon.Sheila

I'm a Mac girl and was able to vote for you, Lisa.
