    BusDriver ~  How far from home is the Market Affair?  Depending on the chemo you'll be getting, most of us do great for a couple of days after the infusion -- then we will have anywhere from 2 to 4 days of "crashing," similar to coming down with the flu.  Some of it is the chemo, and some of it literally is crashing from the steroids and anti-nausea drugs they give you along with the chemo.  You might try going if the event is close enough to home so that you can go home if you need to without driving yourself.  But, if it's more than a few miles from home, and if no one could take you home, I'd probably rethink going and very possibly finding yourself feeling queasy, dizzy, clammy, etc. (very much like bad case of the flu), and unable to get home and crawl into your own bed, which is all you'll want when it hits.  Just my take on it, although everyone is different, and you might be one of the lucky ones who escapes much easier.   Deanna

    Hi, Market Affair is only 1 mile from our house. My Husband will be there too!! So if I get Chemo on Thurs. then by Sat and Sun I'm gona fell like it's nighty time?

    Oh, I'd definitely plan to go if it's that close.  The activity will keep your mind off of chemo.  And not everyone reacts the same way.  The scenario I gave you is very general, but something to be aware of, especially if you had plans to be several hours away from home. 

    If you haven't already, check out the April 2009 chemo thread for women who started chemo in April.  If you're not already on it, you might want to join it or the May one (since you're borderline).  There's nothing like other women who are going through the same thing you are to cheer you on when you need it and assure you that you can do it because they just have.    Deanna

    Just wanted to pop in and send you some good wishes. I was officially diagnosed right around the same time.....and doing chemo before and after my masectomy. I have to say I am still going back and forth with the crying. I go an hour, a day, a few days, with no tears....but then all it takes is one thought to creep into that bald head of mine, and hear come the tears. I think you get better with it. I know I need to cry so that is what I do, then it is back to business. Try not to let it overwhelm you. Hard I know.

    an update on me.....i received my oncotype score of 18 - too low for chemo Laughing - so I begin 6 1/2 weeks of radiation on May 5, followed by 5 years of arimidex after that...I am relieved to finally be starting treatment (my surgery was 5 weeks ago today), but for some reason my crying has started up again!  A friend told me it is like arm-wrestling (waiting for the oncotype score) - you fight and fight to stay positive and strong, and when it is finally over you realize "hey - I hurt" - I think this can be said for many of us.  Love and blessings on you all!!!

    Thank you for letting me know I'm not the only cry baby. Mine comes & goes. When I'm crying I dont even know why. Just crying.. A lot of times I cant even get through breakfast without having tears as an entree. It kinda seems like it happens after tx with avastin... they only can give it to me every other week.
