vascular invasion

I have read my post-lumpectomy path report and cannot find any reference to no vascular or yes vascular invasion.  Is that usually on the report?  Can they tell from the biopsy?  Tami

    I found mine in the paragraph titled Microscopic Description.  It appeared on the front page of the path report.  Good Luck.

    It was on my path report as no vascular invasion.  Ask your oncologist.

    My biopsy came back with possible vascular invasion BUT my pathology came back with no vascular invasion.  I think they get a better description once the cancer has been removed.

    What upset me is that my onc said that they can't say if there is vascular invasion.  I know that's not true, so I figure I must have it and they just don't want to tell me.  There was nothing on my pathology report about it, either.  I think I will ask again this week at my appt.  My docs like to gloss over everything and have a "you will be fine" attitude, and unless I press them, I don't get straight answers.  I know they're trying to keep my spirits up, but feel they should be honest with me.

    Like Jaimieh, my core biopsy found "focal vascular invasion"  BUT my path from the MX said no vascular invasion.  Confusing.  One onc said that the focal meant it was in that one focused area in the core biopsy.  I wonder if the core biopsy created it.  He told me not to worry since there was no evidence in the Path report.  Oh good, more gray.

    Kew~ I was told that because it was the biopsy and "could have possible" invasion to go by what the pathology report says.  My BS and onc. said it is more conclusive. :)

    Same here as Jaimieh and KEW. My core biopsy showed vascular invasion identified. My surgical pathology from my mastectomy showed there was none.
