Hi, all,

I would like to know if ER/PR are strong then take the oophorectomy, do you think that bilateral masts are still needed? How about chemo/hormone therapy? What did your ONC say?

Thank you!

If you are ER/PR strong then you can have an oopherectomy or you can get a shot that shuts down your ovaries.  It depends on how big and what stage your cancer is whether or not you need bilateral mast or chemo.  You will probably need hormone therapy.  Ask your oncologist and he will know.  My Onc said I should get the shot and take hormone therapy.  I did not do chemo, and had a lumpectomy with radiation.  Good luck to you , Tami

    Hi, Tami,

You didn't do chemo 'cause your ER/PR are very strong? may I know the %? Seems chemo doesn't benefit much to you in your case.

Also, I heard that shutting down ovaries would probably get Ovary cancer? or taking Tamoxifen would cause ovary cancer? or do I misunderstand it?
