I know it says "kahki" color but its actually a cross between tan and mustard. It's very nice. The dress is organic cotton and can be worn dressed up or down. Pool side with some Havianna flipflops or I dressed it up Friday night with my cropped black leather jacket.

Okay, now I'm whining.
You girls know I said I want a pair of high wedge sandals, mod. platform, in white like you said, to go with my State Fair dress. Lexi, that's a sleeveless, set-in waist, V-neck, red and white gingham seersucker, circle skirt affair that I bought from North Style catalog. http://www.northstyle.com/
I have not seen ANYTHING locally that meets my needs. I started looking at sandals on zappos and there are 89 pages!!! of sandals!!! I don't think I can do this. LOL
Anyone seen anything that meets the description?
Oh, just found these? Are they perfect with that dress or what? http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/51786462/c/195679.html
-
I have read in In Style Mag that floral is very in for spring!
I have looked for a dress / shirt for spring but have not found anything that I like! those are beautiful and look comffy too. I also like bohemian stlye cotton blouses over sized. In the summer just wear flats or sandles and fall wear it with tights(black). Very versitile.
89 pages!!!! OMG....can you type in the style? Ex. wedge or gladiator to help narrow down the searching..lol

They look like white eyelet.
-
I like!
White is always so nice for summer especially with a little color on the skin. You can never go wrong with a wedge! They never go out of style. Back strap too. I can not wear "slip" shoes anymore. My feet always slide out of them.I always feel wobbly too when walking..
-
Tina, I will "allow" you to buy the $599 one, you don't have to compromise with the $399. You can use the money you saved to buy bea-U-tiful clothes like lexis did!!!!!!!
LOVE the bag!!!!!!!!!!! I do favours for purses.............sigh.
-
I love this shoe. I wasn't really big on animal prints..but this shoe changed my min. To much $$ though..*sigh*
-
Oooooo, I am living vicariously through you! I do agree though, that the shoes are a bit much...and then might compete with what you wear. You do want people to look up at YOU from time to time....hehehehehe
-
Can anyone say Carrie Bradshaw?! ~*WoW*~ Ultra fab...but I would be scared to wear these!
-
Love these!!! I want!..lol
-

I want these so bad. Maybe I can find a knock off...lol
-
lex, I have to check out all your wish list items later!
Tina & Barbe, I bought a floor model Babylock Crafter's Choice a year ago for $500 which I totally love. They are awesome sewing machines. And yes, they do make the only self-threading needle threader that really works. It's like "whoosh" there it goes! But I'd probably do what Barbe is suggesting, Tina, unless you really can afford to part with that kind of money. Although, I've spent sums like that on art equipment. I bought a FABULOUS printer last year that cost $5,500. But as I said, it's phenomenal, huge and highly rated by professionals, so it was worth it. And I'd spend $2900 on a new camera. So, it's all relative. Sigh. You know, we could do our shopping trip in RI and I'd take you to the local sewing machine store (Blaine's) which is famed throughout the land among those who know & those who sew. They sometimes have great sales and they carry Janomes and Babylocks.
Hey, Raye, maybe you need to come with us on our fashion foree. Eh??
I love that purple bag, too. It's Italian leather and it was on sale, and it's smallish but holds a lot. I'm a small purse fan, so I've become something of a connaisseur of small purses/wallets that hold a lot. I wore the new dress last night with black ankle-strap ballet wedgies (slight wedge, maybe 2" tops) and a black chiffon jacket, which is just the thing to throw over something sleeveless. Went to a local theatre thing. Fun!
Okay, gotta go and check out everyone's links.
-
Lexis, now you're smoking drugs! Those last two shoes are for streetwalkers! hehehe
-
LOL..Barbe. They are high...i would never have the nerve to wear them! I love the design..I only wish!
-
OMG!!! Lexi, darling!! Can you say "dominatrix" on those last heels???? The "Carrie Bradshaws" are just hilariously over-the-top, aren't they? I can't remember if I posted my recent favorite over-the-top-and-badly-craved high heels; but they're worth a repeat look. Plus, just for you Lexi, I'll repost my former avatar, the famous red peep-toe heels.
First, my most-craved-least-justifiable high-heels-I-didn't-purchase (yet):
And these were the first-six-month-post-cancer-treatment-mamm shoes, purchased after my check up with my BS.
-
Oh yes., those shoes are definatly over the top. they are just not for us "average"girls! But they are fun to look at!
I love the red peep toes.Red is so nice and stands out.Are they patent leather?
Those prima donnas are very pretty, I could wear those anyday! Are the toes navy or black?
I love people's wish list's!
-
The red peeps are indeed patent leather. And the primas donnas (good name, huh??) are black sequins on the toes. Aren't they pretty?? Even if I just looked at them once in a while in my closet, they'd make me happy. I love over-the-top shoes myself and have worn many in my day. Always wish I still had a pair of blue platform shoes (added about 6" to my 5'10") that were basically strappy high heels but with wide 1" straps with ballet-shoe ankle-wrap straps. They were a kind of medium royal blue and I totally loved them and had a great little silk dress that matched them perfectly. Oooooh, "too sexy for my shoes!" I was in my 20's then. Sigh.
-
Black sequins....ooh.I love them. They are so nice.
I need a pair of red shoes. Its funny how we always go black. But I do have a purple suede pair of pumps I picked up at Winners for $50.00. I will have to find a pic of them.
-
NOW you're really speaking my language, lexi!! I bought a pair of purple pumps last November which I wore with a matching dress to my work Christmas party!! Had to have them. I mean, A) purple, b) high heels and C) on sale for something totally ridiculous like $26!!!! They are the same color as the purse I just bought (see how practical I really am when I'm indulging myself??). LOL
-
P.S. BTW, red is the new black, in shoes.
-
Do you find stores carry red shoes more starting in the fall? I have not seen any lately that I like? I need a pair...lol
LOVE purple anything. My fall colors were black, purple, and grey.
-
A few months ago Macys was having hugh sales in shoe dept- found beautiful red pumps kind of alligator texture but all red...LOVE them. Now that I am not working and not on my feet all day I get to wear all kinds of neat, fun clothes and shoes----can always change when I get tire, sore or uncomfortable!!! I am making up for yrs of not being able to dress up and have fun w/clothes
Now that its turning warm I need to find summer shoes/sandles. Guess thats this weeks project.
-
Back online.
I have to confess that I don't have cable but rented the first disc of SItC from Netflix and didn't esp. like it so never competed watching it. NOT a prude godforbid. So, don't really know CB's style. Those pumps are cool, though. Not so sure about the second.
The Prima Donnas are wonderful. Just buy them.
We deserve anything we want as long as we can cough up the ante.
I now need a little shrug-gy thing to wear over the red gingham dress until it gets warm enough in these parts: New England.
Kathi, we MUST shop and dish.
barbe, I'm so glad you are enabling me to buy the $599+ model. I need it. At the very least.
Am listening to vintage Rosemary Clooney are we speak. What're your favs?
P.S. I am partial to leopard print.
-
What the heck is SltC?????
-
(I have all sorts of horrid images going through my head right now....
)
-
Tina, thank you for the encouragement. That's all I needed -- permission! I'm going to the website now....
-
I'm having trouble finding tops to fit me. I'm now a 32D (too big for me) and when I find a top that fits good in the bust then it's too big everywhere else. I'm getting tired of just wearing fitted t-shirts or stretchy shirts so they'll fit all over. I want some nice tops. I'm 5'4 at 105lbs, wearing a size 0 (why is that even a size) and size 1 in pants.
I've heard that Ann Taylor carries small sizes, but I don't have one near me that I know of. Any ideas ladies?
Thanks!
-
barbe, that's Sex in the City. Why, what on earth did you think? LOL
2new, I hear ya on the bigger boobs on a small frame. It's a whole new world, isn't it? I often wear VS and other molded bras to help synchronize my diff-size boobs and they make me look HUGE to my eyes. To the well-endowed, I'm still puny, though.
Well, I look downright PamAnderson-y in some tops. Yes, it looks matronly, too, I think. Esp. if the rest of the top is too big and that's easy on me because I have narrow shoulders and short arms. Sigh.
Some tricks I've learned, in general, over the years: Look for raglan sleeves; absolutely stay away from oversize styles; once you do find something that fits and flatters, buy it in every color.
I think that Chico's carries small sizes. They are online if you don't have one near you.
Hey, you could learn to sew!
-
barbe, getting back to the coverstitch machines: Should I buy it locally or is mailorder okay? The reason is that the $599 machine I like, plus the attachments for another $100 for the binder is the local price. This site online has it for $499, INCLUDING tons of attachment, and free shipping. www.allbrands.com
I suppose the local place would refuse to service me if I didn't buy it there. What are my true options??? You must have insight into this, having sold machines before.
-
A dealer HAS to service the brands it sells whether you bought it there or not. Think about if you moved across the country......!?!
Maybe your dealer can match the on-line price. That's a great price and free shipping! There's gotta be a catch. Also, what is your recourse if something is wrong with the machine or parts are missing????
