How lovely Barbe, well-not the cat pee part (I mean bad for cat pee but yea for not smelling so much) but the rest of it. Maybe I should go to bed- soo tired today. Hope all are enjoying sun.
For those who did do housecleaning- you get the week end off- here in NJ it's suppose to get into the 80s so I'm guess you'll get some nice weather.
-
Yeah for all you girls with open windows and sunshine. It is just gorgeous here too. This weekend Indian Rocks Beach has their annual "Biggest Beach Party Ever" on Saturday night, it's pretty cool, live music, drinks, people dancing everywhere, games, you name it it's there, it's from 7-12PM, so I'm cool on the no bathing suit thing, usually this time of year for us locals gets cool then and we are all sporting cover ups anyway. Thats an actual picture of part of our beach.
Have a GREAT WARM WEEKEND EVERYONE - XOXOXOXOXOXO

-
Barbe Good for you. Maybe the cat will pee outside now!
Cathi Have fun at the party. DOn't let the swimsuit thing bother you to much. I know it sucks but you have a great man and a great beach! Go have fun!!
80's are coming my way for the weekend too! Woo Hoo!!
-
Hiya,
2new1s so glad about your dad. Hope you take a breather this weekend.
Sounds like the weather is getting peachy all over! We are having warm weather and I am determined to get in our "inflatable" hot tub tomorrow. The kids have been going in it every day after school whilst I make dinner since we got back from Crete. DH gone on his cycling w/end.
Cathi, i just love the beach and yourS is a beaut! So sorry about your 2 close friends. Hope you get a good recharge this weekend.
OMG Makraz, did you have 6 boys around? You sure are made of strong stuff! Speaking of "strong stuff", boy the Drinks pics are impressive! I hardly drink a glass of wine since treatment, but ohhh I do looove a good Ceasar, with celeri salt on the rim and just enough lemon and tabasco! yyyyyuummmm. Oh, I need to get back to Canada for another visit, they don't do these here, or in the states I think. I used to swear it made my skin glow, but I think it was just me being young and tipsy!
I will I will I will I will I will sit down and get this "pictures on thread" thing mastered.. as soon as I am back to my new "old self" what ever that means. Just sooo whooped.
Love the poppycock thing, I used to love the advert for it in Canada but I have never tried it either! Sounds leathal, and I don't need help with the calories.. I am still expecting my Crete Holiday puddings to "land" on my hips! With my SIAE double recon, I sure know it if I put on a bit as there is NO strech on my tum to take the extra calories! oh enough about that!
Just wanted to touch base before bed and send you my best for a peachy weekend wherever you all are and what ever you are doing. I'll be praying for the whole gang in a mo.
xx Shiny

You can tell it was a very sunny day today since we didn't have 10 pages filled with posts
I've got some big old turkey legs in the oven roasting and plan on whipping up some mashed potatoes and some kind of veggie to go along with it for dinner.
Coonie please post some more of your happy dances on here. They are such a hoot.

Ok ladies, so I officially started my birthday weekend and the weather is turning beautiful for it. A couple of my friends after work took me to Applebees for one frozen margarita, that lead to two margaritas and then the third margarita,. My goodness, they went down very fast!!!! It helped that we had greasy french fries and nachos with everything on them to wash it all down. Makraz, I remember those days with all those boys in my house. Still have it from time to time with adult men down my basement playing xbox for hours! LOVE, HUGS AND SUNSHINE to everyone this weekend. I hope everyone has blessings to make it a happy one!
-
Carol, So glad you are enjoying your birthday weekend. Applebee's sounds like fun! My boys could spend hours and hours in the basement with their Wii!
Happy Birthday!

Coonie loving the granny dance
Thanks!

Oh, so much to catch up on!! I still have a few pages to read, but wanted to write down some stuff so I don't forget!
Thanks to all of you for the good wishes! Loved the fireworks, Linda. And Coonie, I LMAO at the happy dance!!! I've been so tired from the emotions of the last few weeks leading up to this, I've just been coming home from work and sleeping so didn't get back here till today.
2new1s, I'm so glad about your dad. It's tough to be in those in-between years, in between hormonal kids on one side and aging, ill parents on the other. My heart goes out to you. And you dealing with your own health issues.
Lori, hope all is well.
Deb, hope you are healing up.
You, too, Nana. You, three, Barbe!
Good luck on everyone's surgeries!! Hang in there, Arnie.
Faith, those itty bitties are too cute! I'd love grandkids, but I forgot I had to have my own kids first. Whoops!
Hi, Dream! Hi, Flash! Nice to see you in yet another thread.
Mom, do you work in home healthcare, too? Are you a nurse? I'm a PT in homecare. I thought I had a great place to drive around in from patient to patient, but I think you might have me beat in Kentucky.
Welcome, Carol, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Hi to everyone I've forgotten to mention by name. As Linda can attest, the weather was BEE-YOO-tiful here in southern New England today, so I went to this great little town by the sea called Bristol to visit this wonderful mansion and grounds where they had, OMG, like THOUSANDS of daffodils in bloom!! Ooooooh, it was just so pretty!! My girlfriend and I went together, had a great lunch, did some shopping, and I ended up indulging in a little retail therapy! Got a dress that actually looks good even with my lopsided, asymmetrical boobs, got a stovetop expresso maker on sale, and got some gorgeous French pottery expresso cups. Too fun. It was like a mini vacation.
I actually feel like doing some housework now, if you can imagine that!!
-
Mom, I had to scan these, not saved in computer, but this is our apartment view (where we lived until last year), it was great, only 4 apartments we were on the ground floor, so it was all ours to use and enjoy, the viwe was from our living room sliders. The first pic is Ed and his dad in 06, 2nd Ed and my daughter fishing, and last is 04 Hurricane Jeanne. Miss the view, but love the house and more space and the beach is just a few steps away now.
-
KAK - Great weather today!! Glad you had fun! You just reminded me that it's Brick Alley Pub Weather! I want Ultimate Nachos!
-
Hey Squeekie-Cleaners.
Just want you to know that I've got my toes tucked in for the night. All is well. Safe and sound.
La tee da.
Hugs to all in need of them. Encouragement to one and all.
-
G'night Faith!
Dare I say...........Go Red Soxs!!
-
Hi Ladies, I hope you were good to yourself today. I got the kitchen cleaned
and then started paper work. There is no kitchen table. God bless you all, Debbie
-
Kathi I think Faith asked me the same question a few pages ago and I meant to answer earlier, I'm a respiratory therapist. Sometimes I find it hard to understand, why, with all we know about cigarettes today that people still smoke, but I guess as long as they do I'll have a job.
Cathi those pics are wonderful. Look at how blue that water is!
Well going to turn in myself ladies. Sweet dreams everyone.
-
I actually got up in the middle of the night to explain the cat pee comment!
My husband tries to be helpful and do certain chores. One is laundry the other is the litter box. About the laundry, I never knew how bad his brain tumours were until we moved about 6 years ago. When I went into the basement to pack I found little piles of clothes tucked into the wierdest spots in the unfinished basement! It was like he was "nesting" or something. Now I have to ask about a certain colour of towel or top I'm missing and he goes downstairs and "finds" it! Whew.
As for the cat litter, he's supposed to change it every week. This is a chore I don't want to have to police, otherwise it'll become MY chore! Anyway, a couple years ago I went down into this basement and was near the litter box. At the time, we were buying cat litter in plastic jugs. One per week. I was horrified to see that the laundry room was full of plastic jugs. I cried as I linked them in groups with twine to take out to the recyling. There were 26 big jugs!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I don't even bother going into the basement now. I don't want to see what he's up to. He uses the downstairs bathroom and is responsible to clean it. Does he? I don't know/care. It is enclosed with no window and he told me the light "busted" about a month ago...
So, the cat pee smell to me means the litter needs cleaning. Am I going to nag him? No friggin' way! I did let him know that I could smell it....
but he has a terrible sense of smell.
-
oh goodness Barbe. up in the middle of the night.........
i had not known of your husband's tumors until now (i'm still attempting to get introduced to everyone here)
it sounds like you've worked out a system that works for you and i give you a medal of honor for finding a balance that keeps your world revolving.
congrats.
everyone have a great day -- weather's glorious here in the midwest. jumped right into summer.... never had 'spring' but the sunshine is spectacular.
hugs to those in recovery mode
-
Good morning ladies!!! Hope you all have started your weekend off great. I'm really needing to do ALOT today, so I gotta get started. Just wanted to give (((((((((((Barbe)))))) a big hug. Had no idea about your DH. I'm so sorry!! That must be really hard on both of you. I'm sorry!
Will be back a little later to check in with you gals.
((((((((((((big hugs to all)))))))))
-
Barbe, as I am new to this forum, I had no idea about your husband either. Just wanted to send a hug and prayers your way.
-
Barbe- Faith put it beautifully. (((Hugs))) You are such a strong and amazing woman.
It is VERY windy here today. I hate wind. It has been just beautiful this spring except for the wind. I don't ever remember it being this bad before.
It's the weekend. Surely there is no housecleaning on the weekend? Right?
-
No housecleaning in this house this weekend. It's a glorious day out. All the windows are open and I'm sure dust is coming in. Who cares? It's spring and I love it.
-
Awww Barbe whats a little cat pee between friends.
I love it that we can air out our everday life for all its grit and glory and still feel the friendship. Too much of life is trying to please people who are too surface anyway. Real friends would be trying to lighten your load not weigh you down more.
-
Just about to the end of our yard sale. Its getting too hot to be out much more. I do love yards sales though, just think .....people pay you and then haul away your junk.
-
Yay for the yard sale mom2two. It is fun especially when the weather cooperates.
-
I too am reading back through the posts. Thanks to you ladies who sent thoughts & prayers my dad's way! He got an official call from his onc last night at 7pm. He told him that all the biopsy reports came back CLEAR!!!!!!!!! He didn't want us worrying over the weekend! Now that's an awesome onc dr!
Barbe ~ I also didn't know anything that your DH has medical issues too!
No cleaning today - in a funk!
-
Wonderful news 2new1s!!!!! And yes, kudos to the onch for calling sooner than later!!
Sorry about the funk. Some days are like that and they stink.
