How long does it take to find out if someone is stage 3B IBC or already at stage 4? What do the doctors need to do to find this out?

Thank you

The rule normally is if you have mets to bone or  to any organ you are stage IV. But... if you have a "recurrence" of IBC on chest wall you are stage IV because it is so hard to treat. So we are a little different.

Thank You. It is my sister in law that was diagnosed in Nov 2008, HER positive and the other receptors are negative. The bone scan was clear back in December. I am always thinking of her and trying to learn as much as i can.
