    Candie, I am just learning but I just used the silver stretchy and tied a knot and a touch of glue on the knot and slipped a bead over it and didn't move it until it was dry.  JO, has helped me a lot and given me many ideas.

    Always hope does beautiful quilts and afghans also.

    I wish I had known how to make those little animals when my grandkids were little, someday it I ever get to have great grandkids I could make some.  They are so cute.

    Forgot to say my granddaughter is coming this weekend so am going to keep some of the platic beads out and let her make some braclets.  She will enjoy that.

    Goodmorning crafters, I finished these flip flops for my daughter this morning, and got my wooden bead necklace made.  Here are pictures.

    Toy's trip was perfect timing and the joy in her sharing. 

    She is truly a beautiful human being.  I am sick over this.

    JO.  Your works are beautiful and to be able to see them on here is great. 

    SPAR.  Your works ditto too.  The necklaces are so pretty. 

    I love the tourquoise one as that is one of my favorite gems. 

    Is tourqoise a gem?  I love it what ever it is.  The flippers flops are so adorable. 

    One lucky grandgirl you have there. 

    She must wait anxiously each day or week to see what you have made for her.  

    Lucky girl.  Oh I have an idea. 

    How about making a special set of beads and supplies for your grandgirl so she can join along with you. 

    My daughter loves working with beads.  Quality time for the both of you.

    You are on a crafting role and it's a good one.  

    For me this week.  Cleaning the house and yards is my craft.

    I made all the quilts for my children when they were babies and had so much fun. 

    I even made quilted car seat covers for extra cushioning. 

    I have a beautiful Viking sewing machine that sits in the closet. 

    I guess I should get it out, dust it off and see what fun I can work up.

    How's the sunshine down your way this week.  Beautiful here. 

    S'posed to be around 80* today and 89* later in the new week. 

    I've played volly ball on your beach.  Love it down there.

    Sahalie, as always a post from you lifts my spirits soaring. We have some talented people here and can't wait to get a porch and fix flower beds and have some of that primitive in the flower beds aong with big rocks.  Love to go rock hunting with dear hubby. 

    Emily just made her first bracelet tonight and it really turned out good, she said she made it for her momma.  She is going to an indoor swimming birthday party tomorrow night from 6 to 8 so I bet she sleeps good tomorrow night.

    Jo, why don't you do me a great big lion or cheetah or tiger for my bedroom do over.  Now that would be worth some money someday.  I would say "my famous friend painted that just for me"  LOL

    I saw a necklace tonight that I fell in love with.  Everysingle stone was different, it all looked like white tourquois, you know how it has the pits and some black in the lines.  It looked like that every one a different color and a large cross in the center with 2 rows of somekind of jewels up and down the cross, it was beautiful. 
    Stimulated my mind, of course it don't take much, a bowl of popcorn stimulates my mind, which reminds me I have a bowl in there waiting on me.  Love and Hugs to all

    Well, no time for crafts today but I may knit a little this evening.  Granddaughters behavior was not very good this weekend.  I finally gave up and called her mom and she talked to her on the phone and I got a completely different kid the rest of the time.  Good evening all.

    Well, I really messed up this time, I was making my mother in law a scarf that is thick thread but with eyelash and was hard to work with and finished it tonight and when I held it up at first i started cracking up laughing then felt like crying one end is a good 4 inches wider the the other end.  Got to figure out what I am going to make out of it or just use it myself on the farm in the winter when its so cold.   Win a few, lose a few.  This one was a real loser.

    Hi Spar2, I was wondering if I could pick your brain about knitting. I just recently took it up again after many years, anyway do you knit socks? If you do is their a book or dvd that you would recommend to help with the heal arch part? Also with so many needle sizes & types what is the basic that you need. I have some Circular & strait needles but most of the sock patterns call for double pointed needles.

    I am just starting to learn socks but I am using circular needles with double thread.  I can send you the pattern if you want.  My lesson tomorrow continues on socks.  When I finish my first one I will post a picture to see if that is the kind you want.  Also if you google free knitting patterns you can print them out.  There are also videos online that are free to watch, just google online knitting videos.  I have never had a book or DVD, just a lady that helps me and gets me started and expects me to finish the project by my next lesson. LOL.

    I found some great short videos on Youtube but they are with the double pointed needles. I also looked up some books last night at the Library. I would love to see your socks, I cant wait to start some they look so cozy :)

    SPAR *  That bag is Gorgeous.  It's beautiful.

    I see works similar on sites that friends of mine have on their blogs that live in Paris.

    They are all about fashion.  Way too much for me but they load all sorts of beautiful and fun

    things in the latest fashions and your bag is right there in competition with any of their styles.

    It's so unique and beautiful.

    Now, how cool it that, and it wouldn't be that hard to make.  I bet my daughter would love one for football seasons decorated with wolves since that is the name of the football team.  Red wolves.  Anyway more ideas to think over in the old brain.  Thanks for the ideas.

    Add new life to an old sweater:

    One of this year's trends is felting. Put an old sweater in a hot washer.

    This will cause it to shrink, aka "felt." 

    From this dense fabric you can make warm leggings from the sleeves, bags out of the body or cut squares to use as patches on jeans.

    It is kind of hard to see what the charms are but it is the bible, noah's ark, the fish, the 10 commandments, and angels. with tiny silver beads between each pink one.   It was a joy to make.

    I am going to buy some flip flops this weekend, the are only like 2 bucks to play with and cut some strips and just have fun, I have all kinds of different colors of material left over from use to sew days.

    thanks for all the ideas. Sahalie, I love it when you post I know there will be something I have never seen before.  I am going to show DH that carton with bird seed in it.  I wonder if he put those around the garden if the birds would leave our veges alone?

     Have any of you seen the Artful Bras?  I was thinking of somehow putting around a hanging planter, but weather/water proofing could be a problem.   

    My hands do not allow me to do much in the way of crafts, only have 30% use of my dominant (left) hand due to reconstructive surgeries after a car wreck.  But I sew neck coolers on the sewing mackine and give to the Purple Heart group for the returning troops at Walter Reed Hospital.  

    In addition, I make plastic canvas bottle/soda can covers.  They are much easier to hold onto and act as a coaster.  It also identifies which can (beer, soda) is yours.   Hard as I have tried, my macintosh computer will not let me post pictures.  When I was doing chemo I made ones with Chemo Sucks in bright neon colors for the nurses and patients and they either used for water bottles or as pencil holders.   I made Chemo Savvy for my oncologist and it sits on her desk.  

    Your crafts are all so beautiful and isn't there a saying or quote about idle hands?   Hugs,  Nancy

    Good morning sister crafters.  Just a quick pop in.  Spar, those necklaces are gorgeous!  Sahalie, I loved the green ideas, especially the bird feeder.  What a crafty idea!  I'm going to get some bird feed this weekend and put that to work.  I'm afraid the squirrels will get more of the seed than the birds though but that will be nice to watch out my window too.

    Goodmorning all crafty ladies.  Jazzygirl so good to see you post.  Jo, what a wonderful collection and beautiful thimbles, so unique.  The shelves are beautiful too.  When I am finished on the computer am going to put out bird seed.  I like to feed the squirrls and the birds.  They both are beautiful, even though the dog catches some of the squirrls and eats them. the cross stitch is very beautiful also.

    Nancy, for some reason my brain is not comprehending what the soda covers look like, can you explain how you make them to give me a better picture?  I have seen pictures of some of the artful bras but how to weather proof them, wow, that is another story.  I wonder is you spray them with outdoor sealer would work?

    Thank you on the compliments on my necklaces.  They are so much fun.  I have to do a presentation of Philipians tonight so have some studing to do today. So probably no craft time today.
