Just got the results of My Bubble Echo Last week.

My PFO is Closed!

The Crabby Nurse Said that Means I can stop the Plavix.   I told her I already Did.  Whoa- did she get mad- LOL.  I told her 2 Months of Hemmoraging was more then I could take.

My period is supposed to start tomorrow & it hasnt even stopped from the day when I missed my PS appt because of it.

She Said My Cardio Wants me on Full Aspirin Until June & then 81 mg after that.

She siad I may want to think very hard about that & take Aspirin- ..I told her I didnt stop the aspirin.  I have read studies that show 325 mg does not to any more then 81 mg.  So I will be taking 81 mg which is what I am on now....And still causing heavy bleeding.

 My Shortness of Breath & Fatigue is the worst it has  probably ever been.  Who knows why- But I am not happy about it & It is making Life Hard & Miserable.  I pretty much cant do anything.

I did yard work with dh last week.

I held the Leaf Bag for him & I was Exhausted : (

Still, It is Great News that it is Closed!  Smile

    Oh, Pam - any good news is reason to cheer!! 

    I hope you get some relief from the breathing problem, however.

    PAM:  What was wrong with you?  In 2004 my heart stopped in my cardio's office but I was jump started back.  Spent about 3 days in the hospital and was totally useless for about a week.  I have taken Plavix and 325 mg. aspirin ever since.  Now 4 years later I am tired all the time.  This week I must have the flu.  I have vertigo, once vomited, light headed but mostly dizzy.  My arms and legs feel like they are made of lead.  I don't know what is going on.  Lately, I have been so tired.

    Any comments?  Suggestions?  Anyone know what's going on?

    Pam, congrats on the good news.Perhaps lil by lil your breathing will get better.

    Kmccraw, I don't have any comments for you...but I do have a big hug and hope that u find the answers.

    It is Nice to Be able to say this is behind me....

    I had to cancel My Cardio Appt For this am.

    My period Came back in full force last night.  Never slept a wink & cant leave the bathroom to drive to the appt.

    It was that big of a deal anyway- He was going to tell it it is sealed & I can stop Plavix..>And to stay on Aspirin.

    I asked for him to callme...But this is the Cardio That never seems to get his Messages.

    I cant see me staying on Aspirin.

    My dds Graduation ceremony is the day I am supposed to get my period.

    How can I go to that if I cant leave my Bathroom Literally.  I cant miss her graduation.

    KMC- I had a PFO (which is a hole in your heart)  It makes it so Blood goes from the right to left Chamber without being Filtered first...Hence ones stroke risk if a Blood clot passes through.  I also had an Atrial Septal Anuerysm-Which is a weakened/flappy Heart Wall- Usually around the PFO.  Which Increased my Stroke risk more.  I had a Transcatheter closure at the end of Dec.

    I had had 2 Mini Strokes, Shortness of Breath & Fatigue (for 10 yrs)

    It was DX with a Bubble Echo.  All My other Heart & Ling tests came back normal...Even a Regular Echo.  The Drs told me for years it was Anxiety (which I dont have)

    My Onco Finally listened to my Symptoms & ordered the Bubble Test.

    I dont think What I have ever causes ones Heart to stop...it is a Stroke risk Mainly.

    I wish I had something to tell you to Ask for in Tests.   I would bring it up again & See a Cardio & a 2nd one if the 1st one doesnt  listen to you.

    They have you on Plavix & Aspirin...Did they say what it is Treating- Did they call it anything?

     I hope you can find some answers...I will keep my Ears open if I hear of anything I will let you know

    You may have to wear a pad and a depends to go to the graduation but one way or the other I bet you make it.  Can they not just take out the uterus so you don't have to deal with it anymore?  Gentle hugs and hopeing for the best.

    I just talked to my Cardio Spar.

    He wants me to have a Hysterectomy.  Easy for him to say.  He says he wants me on the Aspirin- No Surprise there.   Why did I have the surgery if I had to be on Aspirin for ever anyway.

    I am just a mess today.   I have it in the back of my Mind- Cause I researched Hysterectomys many years ago...That just having the Uterus out- doesnt always stop  periods...Some women still will have them.   Then what- Another surgery for my Ovaries?   Ive already had 4 in a year & still need my Symmastia fix : (

     And what If I cant have it Less invasive...Well How can I go to her Graduation Then?  Its less then 6 weeks away.... And have a Party for her?

    Pam -  hope for the best and plan for the worst.  Can someone help with the party plans? Can you have the party later on down the road when you are feeling better?

    It seems as though they'd take everything, under the circumstances.

    Thanks Pam and Candie.  Pam I am so sorry about your period.  I so glad about your heart though.

    I had two arteries that were 99% blocked.  The cardiologist wanted to rule out some things without putting me through a nuclear stress test.  My PCP thought it was my gallbladder.  The treadmill put an end to rumors of gallbladder trouble.  I was flown to a cardiac center where two stents were put in to open those arteries.  6 months later I need another stent.  Since then I have been pretty much symptom free except for recently.  I did have a nuclear stress test in order to have the bilateral mastectomy and it showed everything was fine.  I had coronary artery disease and a mini stroke in 2003 which is why I am on Plavix and aspirin - but, unlike you, never have had a problem with bleeding - from anywhere.  Of course, I was three years post-menapause when I had the stroke.

    I don't know what to think.

    Hi--If your uterus is removed, you will no longer have bleeding (period) because there is nothing there---You will continue to mature eggs in the ovaries, but they will be absobed in your abdomen.

    So---you may continue any PMS symptoms you have had in the past, but you will NOT need pads or tampons after having the uterus removed.

    I had mine out in my mid 30's.  I also have endometriosis so I had cramps, but no uterine cramps.   I would get the other PMS junk, just didn't have to worry about pads.

     The wife of my dh's partner had a hyst about the same time I did.  She asked for and got a pink Caddy---all I wanted was all new panties!  I didn't own any without stains from all the bleeding.

    Personally, I feel the hyst was the greatest thing since sliced bread!  LOL

    After I typed that post...I felt better (well not a ton) But better...And Realized Its just gotta be done. 

    I am Already dreaming of a Summer without a Period!!!

    I see a OBGYN today.  And will start My Questions with her.

    And Hope I can somehow get this Scheduled very soon!

    If I have it done May 1st- Id get to Celebrate my dds 21 Bday the night before.  And should be feeling ok by June.

    Will probably be in the Hospital or feeling like crap at home on my 23rd Anniversary- May 3rd.

    Ok- Well thats my Time line- lets hope a Dr & Hospital will fit me in- LOL

    Ended up Deciding to try Lupron for now.  Was 1 of 2 Options I came up with & so did my GYN.

    The other being the hyster.  It wont stop my period now...Supposedly I will have another in 2 weeks & then not again while on Lupron.  Sure hope it works like that.

    Pam, you certainly deserve some breaks and good luck after all you have been thru!  When I had mine they kept you in the hospital for several days---no longer possible, drat!  Just be sure to follow instructions and Really avoid heavy lifting---anything from a gallon of milk to an iron skillet or kitchen chair is a no-no.

    Lots of women, including me, have back pain after a hyst---if it is per abdomen the muscles are cut and offer less back support till they heal.  May I suggest that if you have this side effect:

    WALK, don't sit on a heating pad or lay in the bed---WALK, even just inside, it's the best treatment for back problems.

    Pam I'm so sorry you're going through all this - I just found this thread, so I'm sorry for my delayed response. You've been through so much - you truly deserve a break by the summer! Hang in there and I hope your periods let up very very soon!
