Hey Mak and Candie!! It's good to be back! I miss Dejaboo too!! Where is she??
Edit: to add I hope she's not actually cleaning house all this time
-
Welcome back coonie. Good morning all.
I am here to say hello and to announce I have not done diddly this morning. It's too nice outside.
Yesterday was a most fun day. Met with another catering vendor whom we really liked.
Then walked about our quaint little township in and out of this and that shop.
Bought some fun stuff. I'm a cardaholic. Like postcards too.
Then a delightful dinner with a best friend and then back to the farm to watch the sunset over
the hills.
So peaceful.
Hey. Have any of you tried cucumber water? It's good.
We make apple water and of course the standby lemon water but
cucumber water is really refreshing.
I am declaring this a work free day inside the house and get thee to the outside
pronto.
Work calls. Busy travelers up and down the coast require yummy foods and beverage.
The little vacuuming lady above is making me feel guilty. Should I vacuum real quick?
See you all. Have a wonderful Saturday and I hope everyone has sunshine.
-
yummmmo....cucumber water.....it does sound good!
I've never heard of it, but think I might have to try it out.
Hey Candie.....I meant to ask you, is that your new grandbaby in your arms? I'm so happy for you!!! I know you're just eating her up:)
Ok ladies.......I'd like you all to know that I've done 4 loads of laundry today........not much else, but it's taken all day to do it. Now I've gotta move on to other things;) Hope you all are having a wondermous day:)

I am HOME! I had a big owie at work
Before I left this morning I stripped the sheets off the bed so my DH could have them washed before I got home at 7 pm. Then I did 3 days worth of dishes into the diswasher and refused to handwash the pots (DH can do that too). Then I went to work and ran around putting out fires. I think it was holding the hose that must have done it, but....
I had my first shower this morning since my surgery and it seemed okay, but around 1:30 or so it was bugging me so I went into the bathroom to look and the tape and dressing was just swimming in blood! Off to the closest urgent care (no time for hospital, just in case) and they took off the dressing and one end (nearest where cleavage would be, if I had cleavage) has opened up slightly and was oozing through there. The doctor could not stictch it as she said it would get infected for sure if she did! So antibiotic cream, new steri-strips and a new heavy dressing and I drove myself the one hour home so I could come on the computer and tell you guys all this!
I need HUGS!!!!!!
p.s. She said to go to the ER if I get a fever or start oozing pus. Oh, please do NOT let this be bad!
-
Oh Barbe!!!!!!!!! ((((((((((((((((((((big hugs)))))))))))) You sure better watch it close. You don't want infection! Do you have antibiotics you can take just for precaution? I always liked having some on hand. It seems that my lumpectomy boob stayed infected while I was on chemo! Of course, since I had both girls taken off, no more infections:) Sorry you're having to go through this:) Things like this always happen on weekends don't they?
-
Unbelievable Barbe! So glad you were close to an urgent care! Here's a big <<HUG>>
HEY COONIE! Wow you did a lot of wash today!! No I had been just reading the posts for awhile...was a little shy about jumpin' in. Started my chemo March 31st and will have the next this Tuesday. Good to meet ya....they sure missed you here while you were gone...but it was fun watching all the coon pics!
I could just see you this a.m. reading the days and days of posts...about what you were up to! lol
That cucumber water sounds soooooooo good! The pic looks yummy...
-
Hey Arnie......it's so nice to meet you. Glad you've joined us, but NOT glad it's because of breast cancer. Sorry you're having to go through chemo. We'll be thinking of you Tuesday. What cocktail are you having? I finished chemo March 14, 2008!!! I was counting those weeks off!! This site is great for support. It's good to meet others who know how you're feeling and what you're going through!! (((((((((((((((((big hugs to you)))))))))))))
-
.......and the best thing is........you don't have to ACTUALLY do housework. Or at least that's my understanding.
I did organize the self above the coat closet today!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hey coonie...I'm on ACx4 and Tx4 every 21 days for 6 mos. Then will have to do the rads...
Just shaved my head yesterday and am completely comfortable with it. My sister passed in November from a horrible type of cancer, agressive destructive. Went through hospice with her from July til' Nov. I can't complain...or choose not to (most of the time). She was a strong soldier and I had a good example of strength and courage. I know where she is and she knew where she was going so that's made it easier...although I miss her like crazy. Lookin' forward to gettin' to know you...all the gals here think very highly of you..
sharon51...you go girl! I think this is the place that if we don't feel like doing anything we can come here and not feel soooooooooooo guilty. We've enjoyed the 70 degree weather today because I cleaned the last three days... First time since my surgery that I did all the inside cleaning myself, dh has been a great support that way.
-
That's what I did too Arnie. Except I did it every 14 days for 4 months. Didn't do rads since I had bilateral after chemo. And Sharon's right about the housework......we just PRETEND around here some days.
Sharon!!!!!!! You did housework today???!!!! Are you feeling well?
-
Coonie..........sorry about doing housework.........it wasn't much. But I am proud. And now that winter is over we can find our scarves and mitts..... heheheheehe
-
Barbe - Huge HUGS for you. I hope you are restig and taking it easy! I think you need to take a week of from work, and of course 3 weeks from house cleaning! Do you need a note?
-
I slowed down today ,guess the previous days are getting to me..all I did today was dishes, cleaned a ceiling fan and the lights, and 2 loads of laundry...course straightened up the rest of the house...oooo and cleaned the hubbys radio bench off, he wont' be able to find anything now! ROTF............
Hugs
A BIG one for Barbe
Deb

today was 'birthday party' day.....we celebrated all three of their birthdays today.
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I MADE MY BED WITH THE CRISP LINENS!!!
can't wait to crawl in.............................
-
Massive hugs Barbe!! Take it easy girl and do absolutely nothing!!
I did too much today, but none of it was housework. I actually put on real clothes (not sweats) for the first time since the surgery. Hubby and I went out for awhile shopping, went to the mall and Walmart and then out to eat. It was great to get out. The rain had stopped and it turned into a beautiful day. But I way overdid it and came home and immediately fell asleep on the couch.
I am especially proud that I wore my first over the head shirt today. I never would have gotten it on if he hadn't been here to help me though.
Arnie, my prayers are with you. I will be joining you on the chemo portion soon. I meet with the oncologist for the first time 4/29. I am so sorry about your sister. (((hugs))) for you too.
-
Faith, Did you do any house work? Or did you party with my lemonade men?
Coonie, I am still having alot of trouble with my cancer Dr and swelling. I see
him in 2 weeks, And then thinking of changing after that appt. Deb, Good job!
Arnie, You are in my prays, God bless you barbe, Please take care. Sharon,
Thanks for all the caring hugs. To people I forgot Hugs and God bless you,
Debbie

Surgery (bilateral mastectomy) is on Thursday 4-23 and I have been in a housework frenzy, but am only making things worse. I should probably just get some extra rest, right? So nervous that it is hard.
-
Sorry about your incision Barbe. Waiting for surgery (waiting for anything) is so hard Seltzer. Gentle hugs to all.
-
Seltzer, you'll have a chance for extra rest after your surgery. Do what you can now so you don't feel quilty while you loll around eating chocolate as the dust bunnies fly by!
-
Skipping off to church in tennis shoes. (It's our very informal service)
Will go walking afterward at the metro-park around the corner.
Not exactly sunny -- but no rain, either.
Footie. Ya caught me. I drank the lemonade & let the men do all the cleaning.
Hugs to all in need.

GOOD MORNING LADIES!!! Just wanted to stop in and say hey... Having my coffee, dh off to church to play in the band...there's so much flu going around right now I'm not gonna chance going today since I have 2nd dose of AC on Tuesday. Hope you all have a wonderful day and few if any SE's.
TexasRose...thank you very much for your kind thoughts and prayers...Hugs right back at ya.
I put you on my calendar for 4/29.
-
SMELLIN' the coffe and listening to the birds sing...
-
-
Don't want to be doin this unless absolutely have to...
Lol...yep...haven't been going out much lately.. We did go out Friday night, a little shopping and visiting the grandkids..which was fun! I'm a germophobic right now...carry my little bottle of sanitizer and use it faithfully! ha!
-
Seltzer - good luck on Thursday. I did the same thing before my surgery. It reminded me of nesting when I was pregnant. Kinda strange! Like Barb said, you will have plenty of time to rest later. I think all the activity now is important for your brain!
-
WELCOME BACK COONIE! YOU WERE MISSED!
Sorry for all you ladies that are not feeling well. I'm not feeling so great either. Started yesterday with light headedness and progressed to vertigo. This morning I awoke with a horse voice and still dizzy. I don't know where it is inner ear or virus. I am doing absolutely nothing! My legs feel like they want to buckle and I dropped my coffee twice.
-
Sounds like everyone could use a few of these today. Here they come!
-
Went to Thunder over Louisville yesterday to see an air show and a gigantic fireworks display. They bring two giant barges onto the river front. Kentucky is on one side and Indiana on the other. They also shut down the bridges between the two states near the show site and load it up with fireworks as well. I'll try to find a picture or two to post here so you can see it. Amazing. There were estimates of some 650,000 - 750,000 people in attendance.
-
Wow Mom!!! That is some gorgeous fireworks!!! What is the occasion ? It looks like alot of fun!!
So sorry for those who aren't feeling well.
Kathleen---GF, you better get that checked out soon if it keeps on. That doesn't sound very good. ((((((hugs))))))
Seltzer....I'm not sure if I've met you, but WELCOME to the crew. I had a bilateral LAST April and did just fine. My prayers will be with you next week!! Be good to yourself.
Arnie, thinking of you too!! Another chemo behind you soon. Just keep counting them down.
I just have to post this for Shiny. I sure am missing her. It's just not the same without her sweet accent here on the boards. Here Shiny...............this is for you girlfriend.....
-
Seltzer,,,,we are having surgery on the same day. Only I am going for an oomphectomy I had my rt mastectomy last May. But I am doing the same thing.... cleaning like crazy. Pulled out stove & fridge to wash floors. And I am trying to get the bathroom finished painted, got the primer done just need to do 2 coats of paint now. Done dishes and some laundry. And I took DS #2 to Vancouver to do the Sun Run. I think by the time I am done I will have enough banked for the recovery time.
