What does Lymph Nodes seen on MRI mean?

The subject says it all.  I just noticed on one of my reports it says lymph nodes seen.  I havent had surgery yet or the test that they do for lymph nodes ( I cant remember the name of the test).

And Matastis-1, what does that mean?

    Is that ALL it says? Just lymph nodes seen? As if, I see them? Anything else?

    Nope, that is all it says.  That is what I am thinking, so what you see them.  What do you see in them? 

    Also with reguard to the metastis-1 is that the scoring scale of 1-3 that 1 would be good?  Like probably not?

    Now that's just plain weird IMO! Hey, maybe they got a new MRI machine and they are just commentsing "This new machine is awesome, we can even see this chicks lymph nodes!" I am sorry you have to live with that agonizing "now WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?" issue. This all so sucks.

    I don't know anything about the metastis stats and God KNOWS, I hope to never learn. But, if it's anything like the Bloom Richardson or even staging...1 would be much better then three! Maybe that will make your day a little less stressful. I hope so.

    Good luck! I'd be interested to hear when you know WTF all that means!

    You are to freaking funny.  Yep that is what I feel!  WTF!  I am not too freaked out by it as I have learned a whole new world since April 9th.  It is just another WTF.

    LoL I am keeping up pretty damn good right now.  Me and my gf sat and got drunk last night and laughed and cried about it all night.  You should have seen us trying to make sense of some reports after about a dozen shots.  DH didnt think we were too funny as we were drinking to boobies and F&*k cancer all night.  We had a great time, we must have been a sight to someone sober.  DH had to drive.

    Not sure this will help you, but when I had my breast MRI the report saw only the diagnosed cancer in my right breast, and nothing in the left breast (thank God).  However for the LEFT breast it did say that a "small intramammary lymph node is seen in the left lateral breast.  No evidence of contralateral malignancy."  When I asked my BS what the hell that meant and should they have seen this lymph node, etc.  She said it was absolutely nothing and not to even think about it.  Not sure if this applies here in your case, but what my MRI report stated sounded pretty close to what you were asking about.  Good luck - and hey, if you and your friend decide to continue to toast this f*cking cancer - please have one for me too!

    I had a PET scan prior to my lumpectomy and I'm sure my lymph node lit up too.  I did end up have one positive sentinode during my surgery and the were rest negative.  IMO I would rather that the scans are sensitive and accurately identify a suspicious area than to miss it.  This way your doctors are aware to give you the best treatment plan.  Best wishes that all goes well with your boobies and nodes.  Hugs Joann  (I really like your icon!!)

    Hi Deborah,

    My MRI report also mentioned the presence of an intramammary lymph node. Of course the mention of "node" tends to send all of us b/c ladies into a panic.  Called the bs who said presence of intramammary node is normal - had my mastectomy the next week, and they found the aforementioned intramammary lymph node in the breast and it was negative.  Hope this helps.

    I had a breast MRI too and it showed a suspicious intramammary lymph node for it was enlarged. I had a lumpectomy and that node taken out this past week. The intramammary lymph node did show positive for cancer but the axillary lymph nodes were negative for cancer. But because the intramammary lymph node was positive, I will now be taking chemo. I am thankful that the MRI was used and that they were able to see the node. Not sure if this helps you but do pay attention if they say they notice something. Have it checked.

    Dear Deborah,

    I had an "enlarged lymph node" show up on my MRI.  When they pressed into my arm pit prior to surgery it hurt, so I was pretty stressed.  I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biospy on 03/04 and the enlarged node ended up being one of my sentinel nodes-- BUT it was actually 3 lymph nodes joined together somehow-- so my 2 sentinel nodes ended up actually being 4--and they were all clear! I hope it all goes well and keep that wonderful sense of humor (although oncologists don't seem to appreciate mine!)

    I have been worried about a lump I feel, it is almost directly located under my SNB scar, I have also been having discomfort in 2 other areas under the arm.  In January I had my mammi and US and all showed up clear, so I went to my surgeon and asked him to do more checking.  Since then I have done 3 more US's (I don't know why, I told him that it didn't make sense to keep sending me for more).  During the last US, the technician pressed on the spot where I feel the lump, she asked me if that was the spot and I told her yes, she said that it was a lymph node (but it was clear), she did this on the other spot and said the same thing.  I'm wondering why she saw lymph nodes there and not anywhere else?  Why are these lymph nodes bothering me and why do I feel them?  I also have a spot that is more to the side of my arm, if I put my arm up, you can see a small something (don't know how to explain it) but I feel a cluster there, what could that be?

    I asked the surgeon to send me for an MRI and he said it wouldn't help, the only other option is to do a PET, I don't understand why an MRI wouldn't help, I see so many women ended up finding their BC by an MRI.  Since I am still not convinced there is nothing going on, I will ask him to send me to do a PET.  I found my BC completely by fluke, it was a sign from God to check it out.  Now that I am having something bothering me, I don't want to take a chance that this is not yet another sign, and I shouldn't ignore it.

     Thank all of you as you know we start to get jello brain.  I cant seem to think for myself much all the time.  lol

    I met with the ps and onc. for the first time yesterday.  I was not too happy that I cant get recon until I quit smoking but oh well.  My onc. spent well over an hour with me and DH.  She is awesome!  She drew me pics, went over every line on every report that I have so far.  She was honest in telling me she doesn't know everything until my surgery, and we will go from there.  She did a very thorough (more than any other Dr.) exam.  She said from what she can feel the lymph nones feel fine, but did tell me nothing is certain until the test is done during surgery.  I asked her for something to help me sleep and my really hard days and without a hesitation she wrote me a script for xanex.  That was nice because my family Dr. was making me beg for anything.  I told my family Dr. that when you are having dreams that Stephen King wrote I need something to help me sleep and I still had to beg.  So I have my xanex, she didnt yell at me about my smoking but told me to try to quit.  She was so compassionate.  LOVE HER

    Mastectomy is scheduled for May 6th.  I had the BRCA test done (now just waiting for the results).

    Oh yeah they think I also have LDC, so I have DCIS, IDC and possibly LDC.  WOW 

    I am having a goodbye party to my bad girl (bad boob) this weekend as Dr. told me not to get rip roaring drunk right before surgery.  lol
