A week ago my friend who is 36 was diagnosed with Stage III BC today we found out it has spread to her liver.  She just had her 2nd baby in February  I need help on ways to help her through this.

    Taymor,

I'm very sorry for your friend.  She's very lucky to have you.  One way to help is to stand strong and listen to her. Some concrete things you can do is to make sure she has someone to go with her to all appointments.  Two sets of ears are really helpful.  She might even want to take a recorder to record what the docs tell her.  It's amazing how much you don't hear when you're in the shock of diagnosis.  Suggest she keep a file with copies of all medical reports and notes on visits.  It really helps.

She probably also needs help with the baby.

Having someone to listen and not judge and not try to fix things is a huge help.

My prayers and good wishes go out to you both.

    Hugs,

    Cyd

Don't treat her like she is going to die, especially watch your tone of voice (be upbeat) and the way you look at her- no pity!  Just listen as Cyd said and don't talk about cancer unless she brings it up.  That is how one of my friends helped me the most.  God bless you for being such a good friend.  Tami
