Tina - my daughter sent this to me a few days before it appeared on TV and I was blown away!!!  How wonderous to hear that voice coming from such an unlikely source!!  And, what a sense of humor she has!  I LOVED the look on Simon's face - truly -it was great to see him smile with joy and surprise!

This woman stunned everyone.  Why?  We know?  Because we judge the outter appearance. 

I saw this yesterday morning and later found it on YouTube.  Wow! is all I can say.  I too found "Cry Me a River" and couldn't believe that voice.  I hope her dreams are fulfilled.

I adore her!  It brings a tear to my eye every time I watch that clip!  You can see the prickling of tears in the judges' eyes, too, I think!  The camera really catches a moment when Piers has a lump in her throat.

In my parents' generation, a voice was a voice.  Kate Smith, Ethel Merman, etc.  What idiots people have become, that they would expect she COULDN'T sing!  Her stride onto the stage, her "grind" of the hips when she said she'd "never been kissed" (yeah, right!  like I believe that!), her spirit -- all said to me that she was gonna be great.

susan boyle has been a HUGE inspiration to me. i wish her continued success and look forward to the release of her first c.d./album.
