Francine - Happy Birthday early...hope your hub has some pampering planned for you!
I was partly kidding when I said he scares me!
HE doesn't at all. My daughter scares me. I bought her a dress for Easter...it is a size 9. She just turned 6. She looks like she is going into the 2nd grade but she has the temperament of a kindergartner....except when she talks about boys. SHE scares me!
Loving the Brad Pitt picture. Now that's cute (except both he and his "weef" are irritating beyond belief). Syd has no idea who Brad Pitt is, so I am safe.
Hub was born in Brooklyn and lived there until his family moved when he was 10 (first to FL,then to Az). They found rainbow cookies in Az without problem. Nothing like that out here...but again, they are Italian, so I can't figure it out! Janet - yep, I googled and found the recipe I used a couple of years ago on Allrecipes.com. It was easy, just time consuming. I've had my laptop so long, it actually remembered...I think it was April 2007 when I last tackled this!
Tomorrow I am getting CMF; so I am getting off easy. Hugs and prayers to everyone.

Pickle141 - The furminator works so well. My son said we should have used that on me when I started to shed lol

Hello Fellow Warrior Princesses!!!
Had my third FEC on Tuesday - went o.k. Because of the long weekend, I didn't get out of there until late. Came home, had some toast and off to bed I went. Spent the day yesterday in bed, got up for a bite of toast and some chicken noodle soup and back to sleep again. Today - I'm STARVING!! Can't get enough to eat. I could chew the leg of the kitchen table! I am now officially half way through this part of the road! YAHOO! Can't wait to get the other 3 under my belt. You ladies rock! I can't keep up with all the posts! I'll have to sit down and read them all real soon so I can keep up with all you!
-
I agree we do look good bald! It amazes me. I didn't look good at all when I had the problem with my head, but it's cleared up now, thank goodness. I had to start going bald around my kids to air out my head, and I had originally told my kids I would not be subjecting them to my head. It only bothers my 6-year-old, who alternately says I look scary/like an alien/not so beautiful and adds "no offense"). Oh well, he has to live with it for now.
I am not having my 3rd treatment until Monday because of my Neulasta shot now needing to be administered at the office (insurance). I'm thrilled for the delay! This is going to be a beautiful weekend, and now I can enjoy it. I can take my kids somewhere fun tomorrow instead of sitting at the hospital. Yay!

NYDeb: Your son is wise. I could use the furminator too....shedding all my stubble like crazy!
Kim40: Congrats on the halfway mark....so happy for you.

One more hair question for the ladies on AC. Somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 of my hair came out around day 16/17, so I buzzed it on day 18, as you all know. What's left is pretty solid (I didn't shave to the skin, but left it at something less than 1/4"). As I do additional treatments, will it continue shedding and leaving more patchy bald spots, or is this pretty much it? I doesn't really matter one way or the other, but I'm curious. Maybe I should post this question on the February or January board where more people are ahead of me on the timeline. Hmmm.
I just got back from a long walk in the sunshine with my dog and by the end it was getting warm, so I took off my hat and it felt really good to feel that fresh air on my little bald head. Lol. I wonder what the neighbors will think.
-
Janet,
I am on TC and lost about 75 % of my hair the first go round with no bald patches. My hair is growing back like crazy from TX 2 2 weeks ago but I assume it will start shedding again this weekend.......I know some of us lose more hair than others and also some have more bald spots than others. Even though I only lost the 75% my head hurt like crazy with my hair being so thin. Drove me nuts.
A friend of mine finished TC a year ago and her hair really grew back in the same and fairly fast after the first 2 months.
I keep tugging on my eyebrows to see if they are coming out with round 2 (why, I have no idea), nothing yet.....crossing my fingers I can keep my bushy brows
gina....good luck tomorrow. I will be thinking of you.
deb thanks for the furminator joke...I was cracking up. My dogs weren't big shedders but I know what to get if I get a shedder the next time around.
kim congrats!!!!
michelle.....have a GREAT weekend with your family.
hugs
Diane

NYDeb- sorry I freked you out with my early chemo- moved it up to wednesdays so (in theory ) I'll miss less work- since I feel sorta okay day 2 and 3 and then feel like the proverbial truck hit day 4-6. we'll see, I lasted 6 hours today and then couldn't keep my eyes open anymore and went home.
-
FWIW, I have only shaved head once before this- and even then I just buzzed it short- not down to skin (which I later regretted not having done- if you're doing to do it- you might as well do it all the way). it was such a pain growing out I vowed I'd never do it again ! Little did I know. Another of my hiker friends (who is kinda a short hair person- but has grown it long for her BF) is planning to buzz hers for a long hike this summer. Her BF is pissed (he's going hiking too), but we think it's mainly cause he had long hair and beard- biker looking guy and he thinks the two of them will look weird together.
funny story- she buzzed her hair on a hike too- as did the guy she was with at the time. They were taking a day off hiking in town and were walking around holding hands- some teenagers yelled "homos!' at them. Um take a closer look-! my friend is pretty voluptuous even at the end of a long hike when you have lost a few pounds. Sad but true, seems like the boobs are the first place you lose weight. and this was one of my main reasons for chosing the TRAM recon.

Hey Everybody!!!
I'm exhausted! Hope all those who are not feeling well have a better day tomorrow. Funny thing happened when I went to Wal-mart today ... wanted to purchase some Senokot S and when we got to the register, it wouldn't allow the cashier to ring it up. She then told us the Senokot had been recalled and it was not supposed to be sold??? I came home went online and could not find a recent recall for Senokot. The last recall was around 2003 and that was because it didn't have dosage information for children. Has anyone heard about a recall?
Anyhoo ... went to take my picture and of course they want you to purchase them. The cheapest package was $95.00!!!!!! Needless to say, we won't be purchasing the pictures, but my husband did take these with the cell phone ....
Tomorrow I'm going to get a lace-front wig glued to my scalp (I'm attending a banquet tomorrow night), so that should be interesting.
Well my eyes are starting to close now and I'm beat. Think I'm calling it a night.
Everyone having treatments tomorrow, think beautiful, warm and fuzzy thoughts ...Hugs & Kissess!!!!

I'M BBBAAAAAACCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!
How could I not come back since Francine gave me two such wonderful tax day gifts! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. NYDeb... thanks as well for the little tattooed guy.
I've been keeping up for the most part, BUT I will get better caught up soon and make sure I read each and every post.
Tax season was very hard on me this year. It's always stressful, but this year having to go in when I didn't feel like it added tremendously to the stress. In light of the economy, clients really NEEDED their refunds or wanted to know amounts they owed. Lots of people have lost their jobs obviously...
Glad to be back and look forward to interacting with everyone once again.

luv to sing! You are beautiful, what is a lace-front wig? Is it something that is more permanent? Is it more comfortable? You are certaintly the fashion maven on this thread! Dawn
-
MOB! Welcome back, we missed you! Sorry tax season, was so tough! It's hard to work, when you are not up to par!
Good luck to all having Tx tomorrow! Dawn
-
Luv2sing - You look red hot in those pics.
-
Mom of Boys - So glad to see your words again. Missed You!!11
Luv2Sing - Love the red dress and turban, You look beautiful, you made the right choice alright!!!!
Francine = Happy Birthday!
NYDeb - I looked on the web at the furminator, it seems all are good reviews, I will definitely need to order one. Thanks all that commented on it.
Diane & Janet - Diane and I are on the same treatment same dates - I have not lost any Eyebrows/eyelashes, still no brazilian. My stubble is growing, dang it - those grays are even a 1/4" longer than the brown ones, you can tell it is still really thin but I don't have any obvious patches. Diane - Wednesday night we will be 3/4 through - can't wait to be able to say that!!!
-
Yea!! I had my final A/C yesterday!! They did have to lower the dose because my ejection fraction dropped from 60 to 55 (another side effect). So my onco lowered the A/C just a bit.... Now to finish with the side effects and on to the taxol!
Janet: I lost quite a bit of hair on days 15 - 17. My DD shaved my head on day 17 and since then I use duct tape and/or a lint roller to get the stubble that is still abandoning me... I only have a few spots that are totally bald and am ready to go another round with the shaver because the stubble sticks thru my buff. I will stop shaving when the stubble starts coming in evenly. I shaved my legs and underarms 5 weeks ago and haven't had to shave them since but I still have eyebrows, eyelashes and a partial brazilan.
Luv2sing: You are so beautiful! I love the red on you. -
Luv2sing: You look beautiful! I'm also curious about that wig.
Mom2Boys (Jan): Welcome back! So glad it's April 16th.
Kimmom: Congrats on the final AC! Hopefully the rest will be cake

Hello all - I have read all the posts and apologise for not responding properly to them all. Deep envy to those who are finished or nearly finished the first part of their treatment. Love all the pictures everyone is posting.
Well, I have a shaved head, and I actually quite like it. My boyfriend shaved it for me (and can I say, he totally loves the effect of it and has been very, very attentive) on Tuesday when my compulsive hair tugging started to bear fruit in the form of handfuls of hair. I did not want to wait around watching it fall out, so off it came. Have posted pics on Facebook - thank you to those who have made such nice comments!
Today my head is really really aching but I am not sure if that is because my 3mm hair wants to fall out or because my wig is too tight. I wore it for the first time yesterday as I had to go to court. I felt self conscious in the presence of my client who knew it was a wig (but said nothing) but otherwise okay. I am finding that I prefer my head wraps though. And until yesterday when my boyfriend 'accidently' picked a bald spot into my head, I was quite happy going nude. WIth the bald spot I look like I have mange, so it is head wraps from now on!
Pickle - thank you for the good wishes but my next treatment is actually next Wed the 22nd- I get the port put in in the morning and then have treatment. Staying overnight again as the nausea drugs will be different. My brother is coming to stay for the few days after that.
Happy weekend everyone.

Hello All!!!
Thank you for the compliments
. I have to admit, even my manager describes me as 'prissy' (LOL) but not 'fru-fru' (his words). As for the lace-front wig, it's not really a new thing, sources say it was first designed with alopecia patients in mind, then entertainers and everyone else jumped on the wagon. Tyra Banks and RU Paul are two of the most well-known sporters of the wig, but others like Brittany Spears, Beyonce and Ashley Simpson also use this type of wig. It is a small cap with ALMOST INVISIBLE lace attached to the front and is attached using either adhesive or substance similar to toupee glue. Once it on, you can part it and style any way, because your real scalp is showing. Of course on YOUTUBE there is a video of Beyonce wearing one of her wigs and the lace is showing. This is because if you sweat profusely or make extreme facial movements, the line of demarcation will show. It appear as if your skin is wrinkly, that's why it's best have someone (or a professional) trim the lace properly (as close to the natural hairline would be). This will be my first time, so my experience is mainly seeing other people wearing them and watching them have it put on or taken off. Of course I'll try to get a picture with it on...espcecially because I'll probably take it off after awhile and go back to wraps ... depending on how warm I may get while wearing the hair, after all it still is a wig cap, just a fancier one.
MOB - Bummer about tax season, but glad to know you got thru it, hope you're feeling better soon!
Kimmom - Congratulations!! Now onward and upward!
deb6563 - It's not surprising to me that you were not aware, I'm still meeting breast cancer patients who have never heard of TNBC. You will definitely find a wealth of information, support and encouragement here. WELCOME!!!
Sakura73 - I don't know what it is with the aching head??? I'm hoping mine is just allergies. Hope you get some relief soon.
To Everyone - Make someone smile today! Hugs and Kissess and may your pain, stress and SEs decrease.

Morning all...
Luv2sing: Love the Red! You're beautiful sister!
Francine: Happy Birthday to you!
NYDeb: Love that name....FURMINATIOR...gonna check in to that, where did you buy it?
Kimmom: Congrats! So happy for you. I'm a thinkin' I'll be shaving the head this weekend...
Momofboys...YEAH! I have a friend that does the taxes for the city of Harbor Springs...I don't know how you guys do it...
Sakurra: I'm 17 days out from 1st AC & scalp has been aching/itchy. Have really noticed it's gotten really coarse too. It's really coming out now so I think this weekend I'll join the "baldelicious" ladies.
Gonna be our first 70 degree day today with sunshine...sooooooo looking forward to it! Hope all you ladies have a blessed day.
-
Kimmon: Congrats on the last AC! What is ejection fraction.?
Luv2Sing: You definitely are a fashionista on this board. The red is gorgeous on you.
MOB: Welcome back....so nice to hear from you and glad tax season is behind you. Our tax deadline in Canada is April 30th and I just sent everything to our accountant a couple of days ago. Nothing like putting a little pressure on him!
Rachel: Glad to hear they will be keeping you overnight and that you will have someone with you. Your hair (or should I say lack of hair) looks great. I must say that everyone on here really rocks the bald.
Francine: Happy Birthday. Enjoy your special day!
Gina: Hugs and positive thoughts are being sent your way. Best of luck today!
I am off to Edmonton (3 hours away) to see my son, daughter-in-law and daughter. Can't wait to spend the weekend with them We all had a trip booked to Hawaii on May 8th but the onco says no way. Too risky if my blood counts get low and too much bad air on airplanes. Bummer!
Silly Thought of the Day: Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway.
I thought I would post a few of my pics from my head buzz last week before any more bald patches appear. It wasn't as traumatic as I anticipated. One is of my daughter Nikita and I. The other is my hubby.
Have a great weekend everyone. SE free as possible.
-
Pickle141 you look great!!! Welllllllllllll...I just shaved my head! I'm baldelicious now...ha! Called my husband at work and asked, "you love me right?" He said, "what did you do?" Ha! Told him and he said he can't wait to get home to see it. Wanted to do it myself in case I had a major breakdown...I didn't even cry! It's liberating somehow to take control over it. I do have a hat on right now so when my son gets up for work he won't be shell-shocked...but then they'll have to get used to it! Anyway, ladies thanks for listening...
-
Pickle141 - you look great!!

Hello ladies,
I'm feeling like my self and my boyfriend likes it.
My sores and other symptoms are starting to go away. I'm such a baby sometimes. I blame my daddy. He spoiled me rotten.
Pickle141- ejection fraction tells how well your heart is working. I have to get the test every three months beause I am on Herceptin which can damage your heart. I travel for a living and my onc said he wasn't so concerned with me catching the common cold from an airplane. He was more concerned about bacteria from other places. This is all after I get the nuelasta shot of course. I haven't been on a plane yet because I wasn't sure how I was going to do but, I plan on getting back to work next week with other trips planned after that. If everything is all paid for your trip maybe you can get your white count checked before you go or he can give you a boost or something. I was planning a trip to Hawaii right before all this started, so I can understand your pain.
Luv2sing - good choice with the red dress and scarf. I debated a lace front wig because it's all the rave but, I was concerned about not being able to switch up. Once you get it glued on how long can you keep it on? I know so many people that wear wigs just because. It helped out because it's like they speak their own wig language that I have no clue about. Oh yeah I've been called miss priss plenty of times. I just smile and say glad you noticed.
Have a great weekend everyone!!!
-
Pickle, Love that picture of you and your husband. I never got a trip to the hairdressers or a kiss on the cheek. I appreciate you sharing a special moment like that. Have a great Friday!
-
Pickle - you look great, love the pictures.
-
MOB - welcome back!! We missed you.
Pickle - wow, another cute noggin. Love the silly thoughts of the day!
Arnie - So...when are you going to share?
Ann-idot: glad to see you back as well!
Kimmom : congratulations!! AC down and DONE. Good Job!
Nasharayne : sorry to hear about the hosp stay.
Rachel : great GI Jane pics. Dont you just wish it would stay like that?! My head continued to hurt after the buzz and it was those little guys at 3mm that were causing the problem. When I went completely smooth, pain finally stopped.
I got my first CMF this am. Should be TX #3...but now that I am on CMF I got a totally new schedule. 2 weeks back to back then 2 weeks off. We will do that 3 time. yeah. so far, just feeling the effects of the ativan. Very sleepy. Hubbies birthday is today....need to finish rainbow cookies and wrap his presents before nap time. ZZZZZZZZ
-
Pickle,
Those pictures are precious, and it's clear how loved you are
Thanks for sharing!
Healing vibes to everyone...
Nadine

#3 tx down today, half way through. Pumped me up with plenty of benadryl and no reactions...Yeah! Onco said my tumor feels like it has shrunk to about 1 cm. That Benadryl wipes you out, came home , took the dog out for a walk and had an hour meeting with my couch.
Pickle- love the pics. The one with your hubby took my breath away, so passionate.
arnie- you can buy a furminator at amazon.com $25 and free shipping, best investment I have made in a long time.
Michellein - thought of you today as I was hooked to the IV and you were out enjoying the sunshine - good for you, hope you enjoy the weekend !
-
Thanks everyone for the sweet comments on the pics. You gals are the best!
Arnie: Welcome to the hairless club....It is liberating eh! (eh...that's my canadian lingo!)
Nasharyne: Is that the MUGA test you get. I had one and will get another between tx 2 & 3
NYDeb: Glad to hear it went well today. Wow has it shrunk to 1cm from 5cm?....that's terrific!
Gina: Glad it went well today and cheers to a smooth weekend. Enjoy the cookies and are you wrapping a big screen?...lol.... men are all about the TV's
Well I won't be driving to Edmonton today. Blood counts are too low so I'll get retested Monday to see if I can get Tx 2 on Monday. The onco suggests just resting and lying low....staying out of germs' way for the next few days.
