Man, I have this itch to go to hobby lobby right now, of course its not open which is a good thing.  I got my tax return and it has vacation in June written on it but I am thinking oh please let me have a few dollars for hobby lobby.  Can't wait to get started making some jewlery.  Made my granddaughter some red flip flops and hot glued large red sequins on them burning a big blister on my thumb and they kept her busy in church pulling them off.  My pockets were full of red sequins.  Oh well. They were different and pretty for maybe an hour.

JO, do you have to have a special jewelry needle and glue? or just a regular sewing needle and elmers glue??

Need to think up some more stuff to make wind chimes out of also.  I just love windchimes, can't wait to have a porch again.

Gee, its already 10:20 need to get ready for bed. nite nite.

Spar, I know what you mean.  I have to stay out of Hobby Lobby these days.  So many fun things in that store.  Lisa, that plate is adorable!!!!   What a happy thing to serve breakfast on. Guaranteed to make even the grumpiest non-morning person smile.  :)

So many posts! Tried to skim thru all but sure I missed some thing, well maybe a lot of things! What wonderful projects. I have not figured out how to post pictures, but my dd is home from Ireland and I will ask for her help this week. Currently I am experimenting with hand sewing - making a quilt for my sister...using 3 1/2 inch sqs (3" finished) and just doing checkerboard pattern. Fabrics are wide variety of creams/off whites and red/burgendy colors and patterns.  I am really enjoying the hand sewing, can take my basket any where and do a few squares at a time, amazing how it adds up (although I have a long way to go).

    Happy creative thoughts for today!

    Hi Jo,

I used acrylics, then glaze and had them fired in a kiln.

Lisa, I too have painted some plates at a local pottery shop "mine by design" and it is fun coming up with a design for a blank piece of pottery. I took a plate and painted an image of a snowman's face on it with the sparkly white paint and the black hat hanging off the plate. I gave it to a friend who loves snowmen for a Christmas present and she loved it.  It wasn't that expensive doing them at the shop and they had all the supplies and paints, all I had to bring was my ideas.

SPAR.  Yes.  Yesterday out at Pt. Reyes I saw the most beautiful glass bauble wall hanging of fisherman's finds.  He strung all sizes of the glass orbs on line and used along side a wall of his building.  Not a wind chime as they would break but so beautiful with the gleaming sun sparkles off of them during the mid day sunshine.

Have you ever collected small pieces of drift wood?  You can make a wind chime from those and it gives off a very natural earthy sound.  Plus looks so unique.  I used fishing line to string them.

My kids have made the most unique wind chimes from wood and shells.  Nothing new but each one is different.  They put feathers in them and anything they find to add.

Look at this cute organizer to make.

These could be sewn together with vintage dish towels and remnant's of fabrics and ribbon.

    Love these.

Oh, I do so love that organizer and am going to try to make one when I get my sewing machine up to par.j   that would be perfect for note pads and ink pens since when we get a phone call we are running around trying to find paper and pen to write down info and can find material that matches my living room/kitchen since its all together.  Great idea.

I have seen those glass bauble things in sea food resturants before and they are beautiful, I bet outside they are really gorgous.

there are so many things I want to do and my mind just overflows with what to do next, my mother gave me some glass beads to take apart and make something with so now I have several different kinds and colors of beads just got to get the stringing material and glue.

It is so exciting to me to see all these crafts.  My husband cuts our firewood and am thinking of asking him to cut me an inch or 2 slice and drill some hole in it for me and then I can string metal beads or small bells or whatever I can find around here to make more windchimes.  I have a couple of store bought ones but I really like homemake better.

Goodnite ladies.  Talk to you all tomorrow.  Happy crafting.

That was one of the little sheep for my grandson's mobile.

Here's the quilt I made for a friend's little girl; piecing and appliqué with hand quilted hearts:

And here are two segments of the quilt I made for my daughter's wedding; it is my take on the tree of life:

Anna. Your quilts are so snuggly warm looking.

We just had a baby born into the family so lot's of excitement.   Lot's of good ideas here.

Spar.  I'm so glad you like the organizer.  I sure did too.

It looks easy to make and something friends or family would like.

If you all like Primitive made items like I do, check out the Hugs and Stitches website.

    Such cute things.

There are a ton of Primitive websites online.

    Have fun!

Anna - I'm positively DROOLING over your quilting.  It's just so so beautiful.

I've made a few quilts but they are not nearly as detailed as yours.  WOW!

Anna, do you use a pattern to make the little animals?  The quilts are beyond words.

Lisa, would love to see your quilts.  I bought the stuff to make a quilted wall hanging and if that works I will try a quilt.

Had to go to OKC today and also stopped at hobby lobby, my DH says well what did you spend this time?  He knows me well.  HL is my weakness.  I said well, I don't buy new clothes, I don't buy wine, we hardly ever eat out, I don't buy make up or perfume so what is $50 to keep me happy for months, count your blessings, he just laughed and said your right.

Sahalie, I will check out that web site.  I love the primitive stuff for my porch and fences.  I have a busy day planned tomorrow but I cheated and bought an apron at HL and am going to sew on embrodery stuff on it tomorrow and make it mine and will send picture if I get time tomorrow.  I am ready for a stay at home day.

Jazzy girl, where are you today, hope you enjoyed some sunshine.

Lots of hugs and love to all you crafters.

gotta tell ya'll this I use to think YO meant hello but now I know it means yarn over. LOL

that white and blue pillow is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.  WOW.

Had to run errands this morning and then go to walmart and buy groceries and still have to make a cake for life group tonight and work 5 to 7 to don't have a lot of time right now.  At walmart I saw a wooden plate, just a square, stained wooden plate and my mind started going crazy like drilling some holes, making a windchime then talked myself out of buying it and wait for DH to cut me a slice of wood to sand and stain my own and he will drill the holes (he won't let me touch his tools, I guess he doesn't trust me with them)  You should have seen his face when I ask to use his table saw to cut out a quarter moon to paint for halloween and glue rats to it.  Anyway it was priceless and he cut me out the quarter moon.

Gonna go make the cake now and get that out of the way.  Happy crafting ladies.  Big hugs and lots of love to you all and have you noticed how much of ourselves and love we put into our crafts?

I made the organizer for pad and pens, has iron on embrodery, an old 1950's clip on ear ring, the pink ribbon, elephant pins my kids gave to me when they were little.

JO, I am so proud but also nervous, this is my very first necklace, be honest and tell me what you think.

This is my sweet granddaughter on Easter, I glued those sequins on her red flip flops for a little dress up.

I am ready to see someones elses stuff.  Happy crafting.

Jo ... the pillows are so very pretty!  Love the colors in both of them.

Spar ... I'm getting great ideas from you .. and your GD is adorable.

I have two windchimes in different stages of complete.  I'll post pics of them tomorrow and we can watch my progress. One I made from an old planter that used to sit on top of a stake that you stick in your garden.  Well ... it fell apart, so I am using the top and bottom pieces to make two windchimes.  The other one I'm working on is with a gorgeous piece of cedar I found in my fields.  Tim drilled the holes in the wood and copper chimes for me before he left out this week for MO.

I made a lot of beaded bracelets and sent them to my B/C sisters.  They fit nicely in a card and only needed two stamps.

I don't use a needle when I do my beadwork ... just thread the line through the beads.

I love seeing all the handiwork on this thread ... you all have really inspired me to get busy again!!

Spar, your granddaughter is beautiful!!! I am enjoying reading this thread. My DD will be giving me a good lesson in psoting pics in a few days, then I show you the things I have made...not as talented as you girls here but I will get there. I cant wait to show you what I made when we had my DD's baby shower. I was quite proud of myself.

Sahalie, I checked out the primitive site and found a gorgous, metal star with a candle in it hung on a fence, I bet we could make one of them  and the homemade dolls, I bet we could do them.  Love that site.  Cool ideas.

I use fishing line (very strong stuff) for the beaded bracelets and clasps for the connectors.  I have a crimping tool and use the silver crimping beads to hold it tight at the clasp.  I like to use the clasps that hook through the other one, much easier to take on and off your wrist.

Edited to add:  I did not make the bracelet I posted.  I gave all the ones I made away.  I bought the one posted from an artist when I lived in So. Utah.  She wrote down the history of all the beads she used.  They are from all over the world.

I didn't see any hooks like that at hobby lobby.

I found some windchimes made out of sea glass (just got to find some soon)  will post a picture here.  You would have to have a very small fine drill bit but oh it would be so beautiful.

some sea glass of all colors and some glass beads.  wow beauty.

Ana, love the quilts! Do you hand piece and quilt or use machine? I have done machine piecing and then tie, but am trying hand piecing now that I have time.

I hand piece and hand quilt for relaxation, but I machine piece and quilt when in a hurry. I enjoy the hand work more, but you sure can't beat machine work for durability, esp. with baby quilts. The wedding quilt was machine pieced and hand appliquéd. I hand quilted around the leaves and machine quilted the rest.

Spar2, you asked about the little sheep; I used a pattern from a Japanese book my daughter has, it's full of little pieced animals. I'm working on a donkey and will post that soon. Also a fish.
