Helpful photos for young women considering no reconstruction

I just posted some wonderful new photos in the Photographs Section of BreastFree.org, which were generously contributed by a 29-year-old woman who chose not to have reconstruction. She feels so positive about her choice that she wanted to share her experience through these pictures. I thought they might be particularly helpful to other young women who are considering not having recon. Just go to "A 29-year-old chooses no reconstruction" in the Photographs section.

    Thank you for posting this. I have yet to start my bilateral mastectomy and have been consumed with deciding on reconstruction or no reconstruction. I have been thinking that if I do not opt for reconstruction, I would get a permanent tattoo on my chest. I have been thinking about butterflies, fairies and shooting stars. 

    I haven't made any decisions since I am getting chemotherapy first. I will know for sure by this July.

    I just had a bilat also and was thinking about getting a tattoo.  Don't know yet whether I will need chemo yet though.  I'm thinking maybe something artsy like a Japanese ocean scene, but haven't decided yet.

     Barbara - thank you so much for starting the BreastFree website.  It is very inspirational.  I am leaning more toward going without reconstruction or prostheses myself.  It is great to read about other women who are considering these questions too.  The photos are really helpful.
