Anyone have bone metastasis in their back?  What did the back pain feel like and where?  Did it come in go?  Any input is helpful!

 Thanks

I was having a pain like a knuckle being pushed into my spine, which was constant.  I also had rib pain when I laid on the right side.  My PET Scan after chemo and radiation showed bone mets to four vertebrae (The T5 was the one hurting, so we nuked it 10 times and it's gone).  The other mets I haven't felt yet.

Thanks for the reply!  You have just help me put the feeling into words.  I was having trouble describing it but knuckles pushing in my spine describes it.  Did it come and go?

    Good luck to you.

Stersolo - the pain didn't come and go so much as the pressure would ease slightly off and on.  Not really a pulsing easing - but it would lighten up to be just uncomfortable and at other times would be more pronounced.  Do hope you don't find yourself with bone mets!  Good luck and hugs.

Thanks so much for your reply!  How long were you feeling it before you went for a scan?

I hope you are doing well.  I will keep you in my prayers.

It is really hard to know when I first started feeling the pain in the spine.  I was still having so much bone and joint pain from chemo and had finished 33 rads.  So somewhere in all that, there was this knuckle in my spine.  The PET Scan was ordered by the onc after the rads were completed to see how well the chemo/bilat/radiation worked.  The breast cancer in the chest was gone, but there were all these bone mets and possibles in the lymphs near the lungs.  Prayers for you too sister.  When I first mentioned the knuckle in the spine pain, my onc didn't appear to give it a lot of consideration - but it was so close to the end of rads, I think he was just waiting for the PET scan.
