Had only a lumpectomy with very wide margins and biopsy track removal done in 2004 - refused everything else.  It's been 5 years this month since the surgery. This was the first digital mammogram I ever had.

Preliminary results from just the mammographer were...(drumroll!) "looks very good, nothing there". Won't know for certain until I get the radiologist report in about a week, but just the tech assessment is a huge sigh of relief. I could see for myself that she was probably right. On the mammo that diagnosed me in 2004, it was very obvious even though it was only 1 cm in size.

My breasts continue to be extremely non-dense, and it appears they are even more so now after almost 6 years in menopause. Amazingly, you can't even see where the lumpectomy was done on the digital film - not even any scar tissue except for just a very thin line across the surface of the breast where the incision scar is.

I smiled all the way home!!!!!

Oh I am so happy for you. I know that this disease does take a toll on us every time we go for those dreaded mamo's. I just had my 2 yr. mamo today and the tech told me it looked ok.

I too  did only lumpectomy and rads only..no meds even thou I am ER+. Diet and exercise is what I do to keep me ca free. I hope to be here a very long time. Time to celebrate!!!
