I hope this does now bother you. I am a prospective student of radiation therapy, and i have a project to do based on this cancer. I have to pretend I have been diagnosed with this cancer. Predict a possible treatment, prognosis and how it would affect my life. (i am 18 years old)

 I would like to very respectfully ask you to share with me some of this information. In my presentation I would like to express your feelings. I know I do not feel your pain, but all I can do is give you my support.

    The radiation treatment would depend on whether you did a mastectomy or a lumpectomy (if I am reading the diagnosis properly).  With a mastectomy you maybe given chemo. depending on your hormone receptors but I was told if I had a lumpectomy even with node negative I would have to have radiation treatment.

    so, if i understand this properly you would have an option of having either a mastectomy or a lumpectomy, correct? (according to your experiences)

    there's also tons of information here - if you just search around you'll find everything you're looking for ...  but I agree with the other posters -   you probably need to run your request by the moderators. If you want to search, compile the info and use what you've found I'm not sure if you'd need permission.

    If you go to the main 'Symptoms & Diagnosis' on this site you should find tons of information regarding staging - surgery - treatment - radiation.  Also, the News area tells latest articles with information comparing traditional 6 week radiation treatment to recent new abbreviated treatments.  If you read the various forums say on Radiation you will see ladies here asking questions and discussing issues with skin, burning, tatoos and the very personal journey of going through this treatment.  Everyone may have different side effect issues and have to manage their situation in their own way - physically, mentally and psychologically.
