wondering about hairloss
Since one gets in chemotherapy the hairloss is a symptom that is shown at the first chemos and is done, meaning you lose some of your hair and afterwards and during the rest of chemos there can be hairgrowth? I'm asking because a friend of mine told me that his mom was having hairgrowth during the chemo.

I started getting a little growth after my 3rd round. I think it was the hair that never fell out.

I shaved my head before chemo, so I can't tell you how many cycles it took to fall completely out. But I could tell by lack of regrowth, that I did go through a period when I would have been completely bald. Towards the end of chemo my hair starting growing a little, but not enough to help. It was extremely patchy and thin and frankly looked worse than totally bald. I started having my husband trim it with his shaver.

Do you believe that losing your hair means the chemo works better? I have read it's not a pointer but I am wondering what the people who have done chemos believe.

I started losing my hair on about day 17 and it didn't really start coming back in until about 3 months later. I used the duct tape method on the hair that didn't want to fall out. It took awhile to grow in enough to quit wearing a scarf. About 4 months after losing it. I also lost my eyebrows and lashes. Didn't have to shave arm pits or legs for awhile.

I started losing my hair exactly two weeks from the day after my first treatment of Adriamycin and Cytoxan. Then they switched me to Taxotere. I started getting a little "peach fuzz" on my head a couple of weeks ago. It's still pretty bare on top, but the sides and back are filling in. I had brown/gray naturally curly hair. I had heard some people who had straight hair and it came back curly. I am hoping mine comes back straight and blonde. LOL

Curlygail, I could have said almost the exact same as you. Except I have hoped for either red or white coming in. No such luck so far, the fuzz is gray and a little brown. I want to shave it off but need to find a shaver. What I really hope for is eyelashes!

I have finished the 3rd round of Taxotere, Gemzar and Herceptin, had hairloss but not bold after 2 weeks and now have a little growth. I will continue chemo will I have hairloss again or will these hair grow normally?
