    Hi Everybody,

     I was dx with invasive breast cancer in 1997. Had chemo, radiation followed by a total hysterectomy, er/pr pos...took Tamoxifen for 5 years...then femara for 5 years. During my last onc appointment I was told my 5 years of Femara is now done.  WHAT!!!! REALLY???? YIPPEE!!! OH NO!!! NOW WHAT!!??!! That was it....just like that...I'm done. I'm scared yet thrilled. My "safety net" is gone. I am so thankful to be at this spot (12 years NED), but what is going to happen now that I am no longer on the meds? Has anyone been on A. I.'s longer than the prescribed 5 years? Any info is greatly appreciated....thanks!

    I have the same feeling, Julie.....................I'm 5 1/2 years out and have one more week left on Femara...............Oh Happy Day............I've been wanting and waiting to get off this God Forsaken Pill and now that the time is here I'm kinda scared..........You hit it right on the head by saying, "safety net is gone"...

    I am just starting femara.  I was on tamoxifen for 3 and a half years.

    I think it is amazing that you are 12 and 5 and a half years NED.
