Tracey, lots of prayers and positive thoughts going out for your friend -- please let her know we're all pulling for her.
Jax, what a bummer on Aunt Flo. I had been on birth control up til I was diagnosed, then was REALLY light for maybe 6 months, then bam, heavy for a couple days every month. Of course I'm old enough to blame all this on perimenopause!LOL
Welcome back Lorraine! Glad you were able to get away before the craziness kicks in!

Well.... I had my second fill yesterday and am now at 375. I am thinking I should only need another two fills and I should then be in the 30 day wait window for exchange.... maybe one more BUT... I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I have two issues that my PS is telling me are minor. The first is a small indent in the upper portion of my chest above the right exchange (he tells me that is easily fix at the time of exchange if is does not look better by then). THe second and more alarming to me is a "crease" just below my nipple and above the incision on my left. He told me that is scar tissue and also not to worry as it can also be fixed during the exchange. He also has me massaging the breast as often and as hard as I can..... not a very pleasant experience with the TEs in but doing so anyway. Can anyway tell me if they have had a similar experience?
Thanks!!!!
-
Thanks Marilyn, Laura, Sue, Jean, Sheila (Sheesh 1961), Janet, for all the kind words and encouragement. The PS said this morning that although the incision let go in another area, he is confident that the skin is healthy and that there is no infection. He says he has seen wounds that take almost a year to heal. Was that supposed to make me feel better do you think? Didn't work! I told him he'd have to make a call on the mental ward should that be the case! He had a great laugh about that. He is a weird, though kind-hearted man with a totally warped sense of humor
Jax - I don't leak fluid as much as it is just open and moist. If they put a regular dressing on it, the dressing always sticks because it is just moist enough for that. I've been using DuoDerm, which is sometimes referred to as artificial skin I believe. I sure hope your fever is unrelated to the seroma. You must feel that you've had enough already.
Tracey - Glad to hear that you are enjoying your drugs! It is the only perk offered with this all-inclusive package! I'm praying hard for your friend.
Cathee - Congrats on your new grandbaby boy! It is so very exciting.
My son and his wife are expecting late in May and this morning at 5:15 he phoned to say that they were on their way to the hospital because our daughter-in-law was in premature labour. I was freaking out and asking him all these different questions and he kept saying he didn't know and then he finally said "Mom, I don't know anything other than that it is April fool's day!" What a little jerk! LOL!! I know I deserved that because I usually get him every April 1st! Took me an hour to get my heart back under control.
Oh Elaine! That is just crappy news!!!! I feel so bad that you will be going through it without your SO. I imagine he feels bad too but I agree with you that I wouldn't want him to lose out on the trip if it was non-refundable. Good luck today...post soon!!
Robin - I am thinking about you and praying for you lots. It seems like we can only take so much before it feels like it is spilling over the top.
Rhonda - 23 months!!!!! My worst nightmare!! Congrats to you and you SOOOO deserve it!.
Laura - photoshop indeed!!! I tried the little head tilt and all I got was three double chins!!! Take all these compliments and run with them!!! You are just too funny indeed!! What the heck happened to your TE?????? Oh my Lord please let this be a minor thing!!!!Are you okay???((((((((((Laura)))))))))))))
Deborah - You are such a wordsmith!! I wish I had your talent with words...you really should take up writing! I love this "It is touted to firm and enhance the appearance of the skin of the breast" HOLY COW..my breast skin could use a whole lot of enhancing!! Order me a dozen!! ROTFLOL!!!
Welcome back Lorraine! Missed your cheerful self! Did you get enough cold in Chicago?? You're more than welcome to head my way for another dose should you need it. 17 vials x 2? Are you kidding? Can't you just pick up the first samples and take them with you?
Sorry this is such a long post but I didn't get on last night because I was spending quality time with my hubby in the ER. He was out ice-fishing (yes we still have 3 feet of ice on the lake!) and was filleting a fish. His knife slipped and he ended up amputating the pad off of his left middle finger! We spent over 3 hours in the ER only to be told that there isn't anything that they could do, so bandaged him up and sent us home. He did manage to get Oxycodene out of the adventure so has 10 little wonder pills to make his life more liveable. His is not complaining too much about the pain but has been trying to get it to stop bleeding all day and most of the night. He was back at the doc today and she thought it was okay...that is the latest chapter in the Life and Times of Yvonne!
-
Hey Yvonne! I LOVED the cold! I am a little nuts huh!! I saw snow!! its was fabulous! I asked if I could have my blood, they said no, so I was bummed! PLUS my period started at the airport on the way to Chicago and lasted 5 days and then to have the blood taken this morning too, darn! I don't think I have much left LOL!!!! Your son really got you huh!! sounds like something mine would do!
OUCH!!! your poor hubby! I hope he feels better soon! I have the PS tomorrow to check in the foobies, its been 4 weeks since my exchange, the right one is a little bigger, I will see what she says, I look fine in clothes, but I don't know about naked! I am just soooooo over surgery!!! So the thought of having any revisions right now ugh............

LAURA PLAYED AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE ON US.....
-
Yes Lorraine I do think you might need your head examined!! LOL At this point in the winter there is not one thing about snow that I love. I am glad you enjoyed it though...a change is always as good as a rest. You'll have to go to a blood bank and get some back! Isn't that just a great holiday gift that Aunty Flo went with you? You just have to love that!! I sure understand about you not wanting more surgery. I am so asymmetrical without clothes that I try not to think about it. Actually...I don't think it is bothering me as much as it used to but I don't know if I want to have more surgery to tuck up my old girl. As long as I look good in clothes and bathing suits I think I'll be okay with that...for now anyway.
Laura - Still not talking to you!!! LOL!!
-
Oh Laura....YOU ARE A NAUGHTY, NAUGHTY GIRL!!! LOL!
-
Jax make sure it's ok with loosing so much blood
the reason why I say this is because when my daughter was only about 13 and she had her 3rd cycle it was so heavy just as you described and I called help nurse and they told me to get her to ER. Long story short they gave her something and sent us home the next day only to get worse after we got home. Doc called in prescription and I told Kelsey to let us know if things got heavy in the middle of the night. I went to check on her at 6:00 am only to find her in a very bad state and had to take her back to hospital and she had to get 2 blood transfusions. The doc ordered blood even before her blood levels were back. Her hands were white which if I remember right is a sign that your blood count is below 10. I think hers was 7. I don't mean to scare you or anyone by this but just keep an eye on things. If anybody is wondering this was no april fools. That morning I really thought I was going to loose my little girls. I will never forget the look on her face and how she wasn't able to respond to me for a while. So scary...
-
Laura - You little joker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was wondering how a TE could deflate. Could you imagine. All dressed up and out on the town and suddenly boobless!! Ye gads. That would be totally embarrassing. I am so tickled that all is well. Have a great day!!! - Jean
-
I have a question for all the post-exchange ladies. Do I need to continue to do my arm stretches for all eternity? Right now I stretch every morning and can really feel it if I miss a day. Thanks ladies.
Jax - I am sending gentle hugs your way for no fever and no infection!! I will be thinking of you!
-
Well, I am 5.5 months post exchange and I still feel the need to stretch. I have the LD flaps so that might make a difference there. IIf I don't do any stretching I start feeling very tight. Gosh, I hope it's not for all eternity.......
I think we all should ignore Laura for a while......
NOT!!! I forgive you!!!! I had forgotten that it was April Fools Day or I might have caught on to you.........
-
LAURA!!!!!!!!!! Ditto what Deborah said, you naughty girl!!! TOOOOOOO funny, tho! I can't believe none of us thought of April Fool's!
Sandy, holy cow, I've never heard of what happened to your daughter, but that is SCARY. I'm glad it turned out well, but thanks for the heads up. My daughter will be starting her periods within the next year or so.
Jean, I'm about 6 months post-exchange and I don't feel the need to stretch much anymore at all, although I do still have tightness on my c side - where the skin is much thinner. But I'd say that's only in the last month or so that I've felt more comfortable. I complained to my PS when I saw him in January about it, and he told me to massage all the way around the implant (small circles with the flat of three fingers, kind of like how you do a breast exam only harder), and that seemed to help a lot.
Yvonne, I'd be about ready to kill your son if I were you! Sounds like he has Laura's sense of humor!LOL

Sandy thanks for sharing your story........very scary for sure.......seems like aunt flow has finally lightened up.........it was a rough night having to wake up every hour.......but much better today.......I put a call into the onc the last 2 times.......because I was amazed that one person could lose so much blood.......he didn't seem concerned.......but I sure was.......anyway seems to be better today.....phew!
Laura.....you rat.......

Hello everyone~~I haven't posted for a while, various reasons, but I'm here!
Lorraine: I'm also in the wedding business, and the spring weddings overlap the prom season, so I've been pretty busy. Trying to get all the work done today so I can watch the final ER tonight--I'm one of those who has watched it since day one 15 years ago. DH promised to watch with me so I don't cry alone!
I'm also having an issue with my natural, lifted side being bigger than my implant side, and I'm very unhappy about it. My bras and necklines all pull to the right, so there's a very noticeable difference. One of my PS's suggestions was to learn to live with it--how depressing is that?? I see him in a couple of weeks, and I'll be armed with all the info I've received from several of you, so I hope for better news.
I booked a ticket to Denver for May 8, so I'll finally get out of the house! My sister is building a new home up in the mountains, near Granby, CO,
Lots of issues here as I read the posts, much more serious than mine. Best wishes to all of you who are going through a hard time with this awful situation.

I wish everyone all the best as they approach there surgery dates.

Hello everyone
just got home from hospital few minutes ago......they sure have good pain meds there...lol
doing great so far....got my new implant ....everthing nice and soft.....haven't looked under dressing yet to see how the hole was repaired....but PS said everything looks good
am having those stinkin muscle spasms...so just took me some good pain pill and going to go take a little nap......I am one of those people who don't get any sleep while in hospital......none except during surgery.
my sister has been wonderful thru all this.....we are only 13 months apart .....boy did we fuss when we were kids.
nice to be home....seems like every nurse in the whole hospital came by to see me this morning
but did get scolded by the nurse caring for me...got busted for having too many laughing visitors at one time. The ICU nurses made me a fake flower arrangemet out of empty sryinges all labeled with names of narcotics taped to each one......it was really cute
thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers.....which I am sending right back out there to each of you
and best of all .....no drain.....PS thinks the seroma will seal off and be reabsorbed by my body.....hope he is right
will read and catch up on all the news later....I hear a nap calling me.....Elaine

coffee - Would you be willing to post your photos on the picture forum? It would be helpful for many of us to see photos of the difference between the Allergan 410's and a round silicone. Some have the round silicone implants and hope to switch to the 410's some day.
-
Good luck to our 4/3 sisters......as always I wish you drug induced, pain free softness and recovery
xxoo Kathie
